A collection of daguerreotype portraits of firemen, hunters, carpenters, nurses, performers, and people from other professions wearing their works clothes and posing with the tools of their trades in the 1840's and 1850's. All were probably taken in the
United States and
Europe and many were partially colorized by the original photographer or his assistant.
