There's a lot of incredible waterfalls in North America. Montmorency Falls belongs on that list. A few minutes from Old Town Quebec City, the Montmorency River plunges 275 feet before emptying into the St Lawrence River. A portion of Montmorency Falls Park, this waterfall is the largest in the province and 98 feet taller than Niagara Falls. In the winter a massive snowcone forms at the base of the falls.

Carnaval de Québec Canada
The Quebec Winter Carnival or the Carnaval de Québec is a festival held in Quebec City.
After being held on and off since 1894, the Carnaval de Québec has been held uninterruptedly since 1955. That year Bonhomme, the mascot of the festival, made his first appearance. Bonhomme – short for bonhomme de neige ("snowman") is the official ambassador of the festivities, the castle lord of the Ice Palace. Bonhomme is a large snowman sporting a red cap, black buttons and a ceinture fléchée (colorful sash).
Up to one million people attended the Carnaval de Québec in 2006 making it one of the largest winter festivals in the world.

The Montmorency Falls (French: Chute Montmorency) are a large waterfall on the Montmorency River in Quebec, Canada. The falls are located on the boundary between the borough of Beauport, Quebec City, and Boischatel, about 12 km from the heart of old Quebec City. The area surrounding the falls is protected within the Montmorency Falls Park (French: Parc de la Chute-Montmorency).
The falls, at 84 meters (275 ft) high, (and 150 feet wide) are the highest in the province of Quebec and 30 m (98 ft) higher than Niagara Falls. The basin at the foot of the falls is 17 m (56 ft) deep. The falls are at the mouth of the Montmorency River where it drops over the cliff shore into the Saint Lawrence River, opposite the western end of the Île d'Orleans. The falls were given this name in 1613 by Samuel de Champlain. He named them in honour of Henri II, duc de Montmorency, who served as viceroy of New France from 1620 until 1625.
There are staircases that allow visitors to view the falls from several different perspectives. A suspension bridge over the crest of falls provides access to both sides of the park as well as a spectacular view. There is also an aerial tram (Funitel) that carries passengers between the base and the top of the falls. In the summer the park hosts an international fireworks competition with the falls as a backdrop.

Carnaval de Québec Canada The Quebec Winter Carnival or the Carnaval de Québec is a festival held in Quebec City. After being held on and off since 1894, the Carnaval de Québec has been held uninterruptedly since 1955. That year Bonhomme, the mascot of the festival, made his first appearance. Bonhomme – short for bonhomme de neige ("snowman") is the official ambassador of the festivities, the castle lord of the Ice Palace. Bonhomme is a large snowman sporting a red cap, black buttons and a ceinture fléchée (colorful sash). After being held on and off since 1894, the Carnaval de Québec has been held uninterruptedly since 1955. That year Bonhomme, the mascot of the festival, made his first appearance. Bonhomme – short for bonhomme de neige ("snowman") is the official ambassador of the festivities, the castle lord of the Ice Palace. Bonhomme is a large snowman sporting a red cap, black buttons and a ceinture fléchée (colorful sash).
Up to one million people attended the Carnaval de Québec in 2006 making it one of the largest winter festivals in the world.

Quebec Winter Carnival Each year at the end of January, this festival celebrates French Canadian culture. There are a wealth of fun activities to enjoy, like parades, sleigh and canoe races, a snow sculpture contest, and a masquerade ball.
Ice Hotel The Hotel de Glace just outside Quebec City is the only Ice Hotel in North America. This amazing architectural achievement is reconstructed every winter entirely out snow and ice. There is even an ice chapel in which weddings are hosted.

During summer months, the falls give off a yellow glow due to high iron content in the waterbed.

The Montmorency Falls form a large waterfall in Quebec, Canada, located near Quebec City. The falls, at 83 meters (272 ft.) high, are the highest in the province of Quebec and 30 m (98 ft.) higher than Niagara Falls. The basin at the foot of the falls is 17 m (56 ft.) deep. The falls are at the mouth of the Montmorency River where it drops over the cliff shore into the Saint Lawrence River, opposite the western end of the Île d'Orleans.
The falls may be viewed from several perspectives. There are staircases that allow the visitor to observe them from different angles. When you look from a certain point(almost at the end of the stairs or at the parking lot)you will be able to see the perfect shape of a heart, it is very beautiful. A suspension bridge over the crest of falls provides access to both sides of the park as well as a spectacular view. There is also an aerial tram (cable car) that carries passengers between the base and the top of the falls.

The next day saw us packing up early and heading east to the Saguenay region, but first, a pit stop at the impressive Montmorency Falls on the way out of town. Standing 84 metres high and 46 metres wide, the falls are the tallest in Quebec and 30 metres higher than Niagara Falls. For the adventurous, a suspension bridge crosses the top of the falls, followed by a long, wooden stairway to the bottom ... NEED TO KNOW....
