National Geographic Channel (also commercially abbreviated and trademarked as Nat Geo) is the American digital cable and satellite television channel that is owned by the National Geographic Society and the Fox Cable Networks division of 21st Century Fox.
The channel airs non-fiction television programs produced by National Geographic and other production companies. Like History and Discovery Channel, the channel features documentaries with factual content involving nature, science, culture, and history, plus some reality and pseudo-scientific entertainment programming. Its primary sister network worldwide, including the United States, is Nat Geo Wild, which focuses on animal-related programming, including the popular Dog Whisperer with Cesar Millan.
As of February 2015, National Geographic Channel is available to approximately 86,144,000 pay television households (74% of households with television) in the United States.[2]
In September 1997, the first National Geographic Channels were launched in the United Kingdom, Europe and Australia.[3] In July 1998, National Geographic Channel Asia was launched in partnership and distribution with STAR TV (before replacing NBC Asia Channel; the same happened after NBC Europe's demise in 1998). Today, the channel is available in over 143 countries, seen in more than 160 million homes and in 25 languages.
Being the first country in Latin America to receive the channel, broadcasts from Brazil started substituting the independent channel Superstation channel on November 1, 2000 released by FOX Latin American Channels.[4] According to people connected to the channel, it was first launched in the country due to the sales success of the magazine National Geographic.[4]
In the United States, the National Geographic Channel, launched on January 12, 2001, is a joint venture of National Geographic Television & Film and Fox Cable Networks. National Geographic provides programming expertise and the Fox Networks Group provides its expertise on distribution, marketing, and advertising sales. In the same year a Latin American version of the channel was released.[4]
In Canada, the channel (National Geographic Channel (Canada)) is owned by Shaw Media and National Geographic Channel U.S., while the European versions are operated in partnership with Fox's sister company, British Sky Broadcasting (BSkyB), which had been sold to Fox in 2007. Amazing Bald Eagle Adventure! Over 25 Eagles swarm, flying & fighting around my wife up close as she shoots video footage. On a recent trip to a remote Native/First Nations fishing community (near Alaska & Queen Charlotte Islands) to attend a cultural ceremony, my wife had an amazing experience viewing over 20 huge Eagles flying around fighting for discarded salmon right in a local fisherman's backyard! The fisherman was preparing salmon for the event, and he was feeding the Eagles the unused parts of the salmon. Initially frightened the Eagles would "try get her" as she puts it, my wife overcame her fear and fortunately managed to capture some stunning video of the incredible encounter!

Bald eagle in Southern Utah recovering from a severe case of lead poisoning, probably from eating jackrabbits that were shot with shotguns and left where the raptors are quick to spot them and eat them, including the lead pellets.
He came to us a month ago emaciated, extremely week and lethargic. Thanks Don Alger for seeing that he hadn't moved since the day before and reporting him to Martin Tyner of the Southwest Wildlife Foundation.

The Bald Eagle (Haliaeetus leucocephalus Greek hali = salt, aeetus = eagle, leuco = white, cephalis = head) is a bird of prey found in North America. It is the national bird of the United States of America and appears on its Seal. This sea eagle has two known sub-species and forms a species pair with the White-tailed Eagle. Its range includes most of Canada and Alaska, all of the contiguous United States, and northern Mexico. It is found near large bodies of open water with an abundant food supply and old-growth trees for nesting.
Its diet consists mainly of fish, but it is an opportunistic feeder. It hunts fish by swooping down and snatching the fish out of the water with its talons. It is sexually mature at four years or five years of age. The Bald Eagle builds the largest nest of any North American bird, up to 4 meters (13 ft) deep, 2.5 meters (8.2 ft) wide, and one metric ton (1.1 tons) in weight.
The adult Bald Eagle is mainly brown with a white head and tail. The sexes are identical in plumage, but females are larger than males. The beak is large and hooked. The plumage of the immature is brown. Bald Eagles are not actually bald, the name derives from the older meaning of the word, "white headed".

On a recent trip to a remote Native/First Nations fishing community (near Alaska & Queen Charlotte Islands) to attend a cultural ceremony, my wife had an amazing experience viewing over 20 huge Eagles flying around fighting for discarded salmon right in a local fisherman's backyard! The fisherman was preparing salmon for the event, and he was feeding the Eagles the unused parts of the salmon. Initially frightened the Eagles would "try get her" as she puts it, my wife overcame her fear and fortunately managed to capture some stunning video of the incredible encounter! -

Bald eagle in Southern Utah recovering from a severe case of lead poisoning, probably from eating jackrabbits that were shot with shotguns and left where the raptors are quick to spot them and eat them, including the lead pellets. He came to us a month ago emaciated, extremely week and lethargic. Thanks Don Alger for seeing that he hadn't moved since the day before and reporting him to Martin Tyner of the Southwest Wildlife Foundation.

Rubber Duck and Cottonmouth have a long, antagonistic history. When this encounter later escalates into a more physical one as Cottonmouth threatens Spider Mike, a man who just wants to get home to his pregnant wife, Rubber Duck and other the truckers involved, including Spider Mike, Pig Pen and "Widow Woman", go on the run, figuring the best thing to do being to head to New Mexico to avoid prosecution. Along for the ride is Melissa, a beautiful photographer who just wanted a ride to the airport. As news of what happened spreads over the CB airwaves, other truckers join their convoy as a show of support. Cottonmouth rallies other law enforcement officers throughout the southwest, they who soon learn that stopping Rubber Duck, the face of the now highly public standoff, is not as easy as shooting him and the truck due to his highly explosive cargo. As the standoff escalates, New Mexico Governor Jerry Haskins joins the fray, he who sees the strong public support for the truckers being something on which he can capitalize politically.

Dozens Of Huge Bald Eagles Swarm & Scare My Wife In Fisherman's Backyard!
Amazing Bald Eagle Adventure! Over 25 Eagles swarm, flying & fighting around my wife up close as she shoots video footage. On a recent trip to a remote Native/First Nations fishing community (near Alaska & Queen Charlotte Islands) to attend a cultural ceremony, my wife had an amazing experience viewing over 20 huge Eagles flying around fighting for discarded salmon right in a local fisherman's backyard! The fisherman was preparing salmon for the event, and he was feeding the Eagles the unused parts of the salmon. Initially frightened the Eagles would "try get her" as she puts it, my wife overcame her fear and fortunately managed to capture some stunning video of the incredible encounter! -

Bald Eagle Update Feb 2015
Bald eagle in Southern Utah recovering from a severe case of lead poisoning, probably from eating jackrabbits that were shot with shotguns and left where the raptors are quick to spot them and eat them, including the lead pellets. He came to us a month ago emaciated, extremely week and lethargic. Thanks Don Alger for seeing that he hadn't moved since the day before and reporting him to Martin Tyner of the Southwest Wildlife Foundation.

In September 1997, the first National Geographic Channels were launched in the United Kingdom, Europe and Australia.[3] In July 1998, National Geographic Channel Asia was launched in partnership and distribution with STAR TV (before replacing NBC Asia Channel; the same happened after NBC Europe's demise in 1998). Today, the channel is available in over 143 countries, seen in more than 160 million homes and in 25 languages.
Being the first country in Latin America to receive the channel, broadcasts from Brazil started substituting the independent channel Superstation channel on November 1, 2000 released by FOX Latin American Channels.[4] According to people connected to the channel, it was first launched in the country due to the sales success of the magazine National Geographic.[4]
In the United States, the National Geographic Channel, launched on January 12, 2001, is a joint venture of National Geographic Television & Film and Fox Cable Networks. National Geographic provides programming expertise and the Fox Networks Group provides its expertise on distribution, marketing, and advertising sales. In the same year a Latin American version of the channel was released.[4]
In Canada, the channel (National Geographic Channel (Canada)) is owned by Shaw Media and National Geographic Channel U.S., while the European versions are operated in partnership with Fox's sister company, British Sky Broadcasting (BSkyB), which had been sold to Fox in 2007. This includes an English-language version for the UK, Iceland and Republic of Ireland, which is carried on BSkyB's own Sky Digital pay television service and also on TalkTalk TV in the UK, Sky Digital, UPC, Magnet Networks, SCTV in the Republic of Ireland and Skjarin in Iceland.

Amazing Bald Eagle Adventure! Over 25 Eagles swarm, flying & fighting around my wife up close as she shoots video footage. On a recent trip to a remote Native/First Nations fishing community (near Alaska & Queen Charlotte Islands) to attend a cultural ceremony, my wife had an amazing experience viewing over 20 huge Eagles flying around fighting for discarded salmon right in a local fisherman's backyard! The fisherman was preparing salmon for the event, and he was feeding the Eagles the unused parts of the salmon. Initially frightened the Eagles would "try get her" as she puts it, my wife overcame her fear and fortunately managed to capture some stunning video of the incredible encounter!

Bald eagle in Southern Utah recovering from a severe case of lead poisoning, probably from eating jackrabbits that were shot with shotguns and left where the raptors are quick to spot them and eat them, including the lead pellets.
