Neil Diamond

Neil Leslie Diamond (born January 24, 1941) is an American singer-songwriter and musician with a career that began in the 1960s. Diamond has sold over 100 million records worldwide, making him one of the world's best-selling artists of all time. He is the third most successful adult contemporary artist on the Billboard charts behind Elton John and one-time duet partner Barbra Streisand. His songs have been covered internationally by many performers from various musical genres.

Diamond was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 1984 and into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2011. Additionally, he received the Sammy Cahn Lifetime Achievement Award in 2000 and in 2011 was an honoree at Kennedy Center. On the Hot 100 and Adult Contemporary charts, he has had eleven No. 1 singles: "Cracklin' Rosie", "Song Sung Blue", "Longfellow Serenade", "I've Been This Way Before", "If You Know What I Mean", "Desiree", "You Don't Bring Me Flowers", "America", "Yesterday's Songs", "Heartlight" and "I'm a Believer". "Sweet Caroline" is played frequently at sporting events, and has become an anthem for the Boston Red Sox.

My Little Lover

My Little Lover is a Japanese pop group belonging to the Avex Trax label as of the single "Ribon" (り・ぼん) and the album Akko. Previous releases were under Toy's Factory. The group has had several members, but currently only Akko (Akiko Kobayashi 小林亜希子, born Akamatsu 赤松) the vocalist, remains.

The founding members were Akko (vocals) and Kenji Fujī (藤井謙二, Fujī Kenji) (guitar), later joined by producer/songwriter Takeshi Kobayashi (小林武史, Kobayashi Takeshi) (keyboard) when they released their first album, Evergreen. (The lyricist KATE on their early singles stands for "Kenji, Akko, and Takeshi Ensemble".) Akko and Kobayashi married in 1996, but divorced in 2008 when Kobayashi's affair with Yo Hitoto was made public. Fujii retired from the group in 2002.

"Hello, Again (Mukashi Kara Aru Basho)" (Hello, Again ～昔からある場所～, "A Place That's Been There for Ages") is a song by Japanese band My Little Lover. It was released as a single on August 21, 1995, and is currently the band's biggest hit single.

Promotion

The song was used as the theme song for the Japanese drama Owaranai Natsu, starring Asaka Seto, Ryuichi Ohura and LaSalle Ishii.

In My Little Lover's discography, "Hello, Again (Mukashi Kara Aru Basho)" has been recorded in studio three times: the original, the acoustic version on Organic (2002) and the differently arranged acoustic version on Acoakko (2008). The original appears on the single, Evergreen (1995), Singles (2001) and the greatest hits disc of Akko (2006).

Juju version

Hello, Again (Mukashi Kara Aru Basho) was covered by Japanese R&B singer Juju in 2010, used in commercials for the Sony Alpha digital camera. The cover was very popular, reaching #1 on RIAJ's Digital Track Chart, causing the original to chart again and prompted Juju to release a cover album of female Japanese vocalists' songs, Request.

Amos Lee

Amos Lee (born Ryan Anthony Massaro, June 22, 1977) is an American singer-songwriter whose musical style encompasses folk, rock and soul. He was born in Philadelphia and graduated from the University of South Carolina with a degree in English. After working as a schoolteacher and bartender he began to pursue a career in music. His manager submitted a demo recording to Blue Note Records which resulted in a recording contract and an association with singer Norah Jones.

Since that time Lee has recorded five albums on Blue Note Records and has toured as an opening act for Norah Jones, Bob Dylan, Elvis Costello, Paul Simon, Merle Haggard, Van Morrison, John Prine, Dave Matthews Band, Adele, the Zac Brown Band, Jack Johnson, The Avett Brothers, and David Gray. His music has appeared on the soundtracks of numerous TV shows and movies. He has performed on several late night TV shows and at a voter registration rally for Barack Obama. In 2011, his album Mission Bell debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart.
