Athens: Announcement of prisoners about the Special Forces raids inside Korydallos Prison (Greece)

April 21st, 2016

Koridallos prisons – Announcement of Prisoners for the raiding of the EKAM (special forces) and the violent transfer of our fellow prisoners.

During the night, specifically from 00.30 until 7-8am, special forces of the police together with mixed units of police and prosecutors, carried out extensive searches in the 1st and 4th wing of Koridallos prisons.
The state mechanisms raided with superiority of power and an intention to humiliate the prisoners.

Specifically the searches were done 2 cells at a time and 4-5 prisoners were against dozens of fully armed EKAM (special forces),who tied the prisoners behind their back and had them on their knees while they made them look at the wall as long as the search was underway, whoever resisted this sadistic hazing was beaten by the police forces. All cells in the two wings were searched, objects and devices were smashed while the provocations continued by the police since they threw all clothes in the garbage, destroyed their stuff and threw food and other products on the floor.

The state carries out exercises for imposing and controlling who will speak of human rights when all is bypassed before the dogma of law and order. like we said prisoners were beaten and dozens of others were violently transferred to other prisons, while the cells did not open until 11am.

Against one more move of imposition we will remain in the yards of our wings until 8pm and we will return to our cells after 10pm tonight. We demand to know the reason of the raids by the police, and the correctional service together with the ministry of justice should give us an explanation for the autarchy, broken cells, beatings and the provocations by the police.

Let’s create communities of solidarity and dignity towards the state brutality.

Prisoners of the 1st, 2nd and 4th wing of Koridallos prisons.

Update on Aachen repression (Germany & Spain)

April 21st, 2016

In July 2015 our friend and comrade got arrested at a passport control at the Greek-Bulgarian border. The Europe-wide arrest warrant against her had been issued by the prosecution office of Aachen, Germany, on the 24th of June 2015. In Germany she got locked up under the ‘U-haft‘ (Untersuchungshaft) regime in Cologne because of a presumed involvement in an armed bank robbery that had taken place two years earlier (2013). On the 2nd December 2015, after months of investigation the prosecution formally charged her with bank robbery, hostage taking and weapon possession. On the 16th of December, the court called the prison instructing them to release our comrade because all charges were to be dropped, since the “evidence” that months of investigation produced was not sufficient for this case to be brought to court.

When we were writing the above statement concerning the imprisonment and release of our friend, we hoped it would be the last. Unfortunately the German cops did not agree, and decided to appeal against the decision of her release. This resulted in, after first being rejected by the normal court, the higher court’s decision to reopen the case. Concretely this means that, after having spent nearly six months in preventive prison, our friend and comrade is now outside awaiting trial. It is still unclear when the court case will take place. Despite several desperate attempts from the prosecutor’s office to also get a new warrant for her arrest – at the moment we are awaiting the high court’s decision of yet another appeal – she is still outside with us. Communication antennas sabotaged in solidarity with prisoners (Basque Country)

April 18th, 2016

from Irakunditxs via Contra Madriz

translated by Earth First! Journal

Every tool in the toolbox! Capitalist society is held up by two fundamental pillars: repression and social control. This time we have wanted to hit a part of the system of social control via communication antennas. Between Saturday night and Sunday morning (April 2-3), led by the stars, we approached two antennas in the road between Iruña and Irurtzun (Nafarroa) and with the help of pliers we opened a breach inside wire mesh that surrounds the antennas. With wooden-handled mallets we destroyed the electricity meters inside both antennae and we broke the two AC units inside each, as well. With axes we cut the cables to the antennas’ electrical device as well as wires to the distribution substation that power the antennas.

This time we demand and make this action public in part to launch an irrintzi solidarity campaign with our imprisoned compañeros who are on hunger strike in the murderous and torturous state jails: José Adrián Poblete Darre, Xavier Corporales Barruecos, and Antonio Chavero Mejías. We do this for you.

In solidarity with the compañerxs Monica and Francisco who have recently been charged in the first degree to 12 years (a sentence is but an opinion). Strength and courage.

[This was done] in protest of the violations which are penetrating the Earth and nature, such as the TAV and the other infrastructures which serve only for the interests of the same people as always. Ama lurra defenda dezagun! [Euskara language.]

PS. It’s a shame that the fire we had hoped to gift in the end did not happen…. Do not fret, as we will take care of that next time. estatuari gerra, gerra beti!
[Euskara language.]

Diyarbakir: Political attacks against women target the organization of women (Turkey)

April 18th, 2016

The centre of Free Women’s Congress (KJA) Association was raided anomalously by police on April 10, 2016, around 05:00 am. The Association was raided without any prior notification and in an unusual hour that none of the administrators were there. 16 politicians, including 6 women who are members, administrators and activists of KJA, were detained in the same time with similar illegal methods. Our 4 women members, Çimen Işık, Pero Dündar, Olcay Kanlıbaş and Zozan Toprak are imprisoned after they were judged in the court on April, 11.

The police raid is totally anomalous and targets to destroy generally the democratic organization as an essential element of democracy, and specifically the organization of women. While all of our computers were stolen in the raid, our archive was also taken by the police. This crime is tried to be covered up with a “confidentiality order”. Seizing all the computers means the cessation of the Association’s actions even it is possible to backup all of the documents and keep on our investigations. Read the rest of this entry »

Letters from Kevan Thakrar from the isolation units of England (UK)

April 18th, 2016

From a comrade of ABC Brighton:

March 17

A secret world exists within the high security prison estate in England, known as the Close Supervision Centre (CSC) system. It is notorious amongst the few who know of it, a place only the most unfortunate men ever see. Reports of serious mistreatment and torture are routine from the victims detained within the CSC, but almost nothing is ever done about the biggest demonstration of inhumanity to take place in this country.

In order to excuse this torture chamber, the dehumanization of CSC prisoners begins at a very early stage of official justifications for the creation of the CSC system, which focus on the need to contain a new breed of unmanageable and unpredictable risks. It continues with the creation of classificatory categories of ‘dangerousness’ which objectify prisoners and make more of the category and less of the human in them, and it is reinforced by the tightly controlled and highly regulated routines in CSC’s, treating prisoners as highly dangerous creatures, capable of superhuman acts of violence – not quite human and in need of the extreme oppression the CSC provides.

When it comes to the ‘worst of the worst’, isolation is wrongly seen as a necessity but insufficient measure by prison management. In addition to isolation and extremely restricted movements, prisoner in-cell provisions and their belongings are carefully regulated and subjected to relentless scrutiny and inspection. Communique about the latest repressive operation in Barcelona and in solidarity with the comrade imprisoned in the prison of Soto del Real (Catalunya & Spain)

April 18th, 2016

On Wednesday April 13 at 5am an operation of the Mossos d’Esquadra [Catalan Police] began in which two private homes and a squat in the neighbourhood of La Salut, the “Blokes Fantasma” were raided and the twenty or so people living in the building were detained for twelve hours.

In addition to the looting and destruction that accompanies any police search, the operation resulted in the arrest of a comrade who had already been imprisoned within the framework of the Pandora Operation, and for whom since 11 April there was a European arrest warrant on charges of participation in bank expropriations in Germany.
After her transfer to the Spanish National Court, judge Eloy Velasco ordered preventive detention for our comrade, who has been transferred to the prison of Soto del Real.

As she is also charged in the Pandora trial (currently under instruction) and that she herself has expressed her desire not be extradited, our defence has called for a “conditioning” of the European extradition order, claiming that she be held in custody in the Spanish State until the trial pending here is held. Within a maximum period of 2 months (extendable for another month), the High Court would have to decide whether the handing over of our comrade to the German authorities can be temporarily suspended or not. From the German press we learned that she has been linked to an expropriation that occurred two years ago in the town of Aachen, during which, again according to the press, the assailant group took a significant amount of money from the bank without causing any injuries or personal damage. Anarchist comrade Igor Shevtsov on trial for arson of the house of the Defense Minister and graffiti on a prison wall (Czech Republic)

April 18th, 2016

The very first court hearing since the [Operation] Fenix started will take a place in Czech Republic Prague city court on April 26-27th. The court is about the case of Igor Shevcov. An anarchist accused of fabricated attack on the house of the Minister of Defense.

During this so called attack nothing was damaged and no one got hurt. In the time of incident – which the ministers’ son mentioned in his first testimony – Igor could not be physically near by the house.

Igor already had spent 3 months in remand and since September 2015 he has been out on probation. Part of the “deal” is that Igor could have not leave the Czech Republic at all and once a week he must go to visit the probation office. He can be sentenced up to 15 years. Take friends and come to support a comrade, anarchist and great friend Igor in the court room!

The solidarity is our strongest weapon!

‘It Ain’t Over Yet’ by anarchist prisoner Michael Kimble (US)

April 18th, 2016

Friday, Feb. 12, 2016 – Monday, Feb. 15, 2016

What began as a confrontation between prisoners from different regions of Alabama – namely, B’ham and Montgomery, with B’ham being the largest – escalated into two short riots against the pigs. After the prisoners squashed the beef among themselves without any violence, two pigs ran into C-dorm, which houses 114 prisoners and was informed that there was no problem and everything was under control.

One pig (Tate) tried to bogart his way through a crowd of prisoners and was immediately stabbed a number of times. After the two pigs ran out the dorm, one bloodied the warden, Carter Davenport, who has a reputation as an extremely sadistic, disrespectful, and nasty scumfuck fascist, who was recently removed from his post as warden at St. Clair maximum security prison for assaulting a prisoner, and reassigned as warden at Holman in 2015. He was stabbed after entering C-dorm like some kind of god. Read the rest of this entry »
