Yousuf bowled by Praveen, umpire gives dead ball

The umpiring standards in international and domestic cricket are towards a decline and this now an established fact. Now we see the umpires regularly making mistakes and the teams get advantages of their mistakes. The latest one has been made in the IPL in the ongoing game between Gujarat Lions and Kolkata Knight Riders. This incident happened in the first innings when Kolkata Knight Riders were batting in the center. Yusuf Pathan was batting against Praveen Kumar. Now Praveen went round the wicket just to change the angle of his bowling and try to restrict the batsman from hitting some big shots. Praveen started running and Yusuf looked ready to play the ball. Now just when Praveen released the ball, Yusuf backed out and left his wicket. The ball was a Yorker on the off stump and it hit the mark. The bails fell off and Praveen looked back at the umpire only to find out that he was signaling it as a dead ball. Yusuf was disturbed by some movement near the sightscreen. He later asked the leg umpire to solve his problem as well. But as per the rules of the game Yusuf was out. The rules say that if the ball is delivered than the batsman cannot pull off from playing it. he has to play the ball. Yusuf did not play the ball. He was bowled out as per the text book of cricket. the umpire should have consulted the third umpire and should have asked him to check when Yusuf backed out. If he did it after the ball was bowled then this should have been given out. But the onfield umpire did not go for the third umpire and made a wrong move. Those who are still confused about the Yusuf Pathan bowled out incident well he was out and he should have been given one as well. he was too late from backing out despite getting an actual interference from someone near the sight screen. This incident happened in the first inning today when Kolkata Knight Riders batsman Yusuf Pathan was batting in the crease. Gujarat Lions bowler Praveen Kumar was bowling at him. Praveen changed his side and went round the wicket. He started his run up and Yusuf looked ready o face the ball now just when the ball was delivered he backed out pointing towards the sight screen.som on just stood up and blew the concentration of Yusuf. The ball was a fuller length on the off stump and it hit its mark and Yusuf was bowled out. Now the Praveen looked back at the umpire and a dead ball was signaled. Now Praveen dd not like that a bit. Of we see the rules then Yusuf was out. He reacted and backed off too late. The ball was bowled and then he backed out. This was out but somehow the umpire did not give it.
