Jarrett Jack Preseason 2010 Highlights, Toronto Raptors
DownToBuck does not love all role-players equally. Like a biased parent, he picks and chooses his favorites, showering special attention on some while neglecting others. DeMar DeRozan watches sadly as endless highlights get made of Donatas Motiejunas. Jarrett Jack is one of the ignored ones. I just don't like him. I can't explain why except that his eyebrows piss me off and make me want to punch his entire face off. He had a nice few months around the beginning of 2015, including a 35-point (on 30 shots, let it be known) explosion. I did one video during that whole stretch. You must understand that it's a lot easier for me to make highlights when the player in question allows me to get in the "hype zone", a state of mind where the passage of time seems not to exist. Making highlights out...
The Cavs wanted to make the playoffs this year. They figured, not necessarily wrongly, that Irving + other recent draftees + a savvy vet + 1st overall pick was going to be enough to do it. So they signed Jarrett Jack to bring scoring punch and playmaking to the bench and to be a savvy vet. But it hasn't worked out at all for Cleveland, and Jarrett Jack has been not as advertised. He was really good last year for Golden State and the year previous for the Hornets. Is the horrible team culture of the Cavaliers to blame? Probably not. More likely, he got paid. "You can't ignore me forever, DTB." Startled by the unexpected voice behind me, I turn my chair away from the computer screen to find that Jarrett Jack has entered my office. This is not the first time an NBA player has intruded upon the sanctity of my abode, so I am able to respond calmly. "Actually, it is quite possible for me to indefinitely ignore you." Jarrett roars and charges me. I let him do what he wants. I know he will not truly hurt me, as I am the only one who can give him what he desires: a highlight video. He grabs my head and presses it against my 4K-resolution monitor, one of six which rings me like a pantheon of gods. I do not resist. On the screen is basketball-reference's ranked list of performances for the previous night's games. How convenient for Jarrett. "Do you s...

Keith Jarrett's talent for playing both abstractly and lyrically, sometimes during the same song, continues to astound and delight audiences around the world. His ability to work in both the jazz and classical fields as both performer and composer demonstrates the breadth of his creativity. A master of many instruments, Jarrett also plays harpsichord, clavichord, organ, soprano saxophone, and drums. However, during the last 20 years, he has performed and recorded mainly on the acoustic piano. Jarrett began playing the piano at age three, and studied classical music throughout his youth. Moving to New York City in 1964 after a short time in Boston, Jarrett hooked up with Art Blakey's Jazz Messengers, and then joined the Charles Lloyd Quartet from 1966-68, becoming part of a stellar cast wi...
