Sun Wukong, also known as the Monkey King, is a main character in the Chinese classical novel Journey to the West. Sun Wukong is also found in many later stories and adaptations. In the novel, he is a monkey born from a stone who acquires supernatural powers through Taoist practices. After rebelling against heaven and being imprisoned under a mountain by the Buddha, he later accompanies the monk Xuanzang on a journey to retrieve Buddhist sutras from India.
Sun Wukong possesses an immense amount of strength; he is able to lift his 13,500 jīn (7,960 kilograms (17,550 lb)) staff with ease. He is also extremely fast, able to travel 108,000 li (54,000 kilometres (34,000 mi)) in one somersault. Sun knows 72 transformations, which allow him to transform into various animals and objects; however, he is troubled in transforming into other forms, due to the accompanying incomplete transformation of his tail. Sun Wukong is a skilled fighter, capable of holding his own against the best warriors of heaven. Also, each of his hairs possess magical properties, capable of being transformed into clones of the Monkey King himself, and/or into various weapons, animals, and other objects. He also knows spells that can command wind, part water, conjure protective circles against demons, and freeze humans, demons, and gods alike.
Monkey King, or Sun Wukong, is a main character in the classical Chinese epic novel Journey to the West. (The novel was also translated as The Monkey King by George Theiner in 1964.)
Monkey King may also refer to:
"The Monkey" is a short story by Stephen King, first published in Gallery magazine in 1980. It was significantly revised and published in King's collection Skeleton Crew in 1985.
The story centers on a cymbal-banging monkey toy with supernatural powers. Every time the monkey claps its little cymbals together, a nearby living thing dies. The monkey is found in a family's attic in an old toy chest by two young brothers, Petey and Dennis, unknowing that their father, Hal, had been tormented by the monkey years ago, when it worked its lethal enchantment on his family and friends, until Hal had chucked it down the old well at the home of his uncle and aunt. The monkey had belonged to Hal's unnamed father, a merchant mariner who disappeared under mysterious circumstances, and Hal found the monkey among the various trinkets and junk left behind by him. Hal takes the monkey and throws it in Crystal Lake, hoping that it won't be able to escape from it. The story ends with an excerpt of a newspaper article which reports on a mysterious die-off of fish in the lake.
The Monkey King 2 is a 2016 Hong Kong-Chinese fantasy film based on the classic novel Journey to the West by Wu Cheng'en. The film was shot in 3D and is a sequel to the 2014 box office hit The Monkey King with Cheang Pou-soi returning as director and Sammo Hung as action director, who replaces Donnie Yen's role from the previous installment. Film stars Aaron Kwok, who portrayed the main antagonist in the previous installment, as the film's titular protagonist, who also replaces Yen from the previous installment. It was released in the United States on 5 February, in Hong Kong on 6 February and in China on 8 February 2016, the first day of the Chinese New Year holiday period.
The film is based on selected chapters of Wu Cheng'en's classical novel Journey to the West and will tell the story of how the young monk Tang Sanzang's travels brings him to the Five fingers mountain and meets Sun Wukong where he's trapped beneath. It is there that they will form a bond as Master and disciple. In their travels, they will also meet Zhu Ba Jie and Sha Wu Jing whom also become the disciples of Sanzang and join them in their travels to Leiyin Temple at Vulture Peak in India to collect scriptures to bring back to Chang An. This sequel, will focus on the story arc of the White Bone Demon who is hell bent on consuming San Zang, because this will grant her Demon-hood for all eternity as she did not want to go through reincarnation.
Monkeys are haplorhine ("dry-nosed") primates, a paraphyletic group generally possessing tails and consisting of approximately 260 known living species. Many monkey species are tree-dwelling (arboreal), although there are species that live primarily on the ground, such as baboons. Most species are also active during the day (diurnal). Monkeys are generally considered to be intelligent, particularly Old World monkeys.
Lemurs, lorises, and galagos are not monkeys; instead they are strepsirrhine ("wet-nosed") primates. Like monkeys, tarsiers are haplorhine primates; however, they are also not monkeys. There are two major types of monkey: New World monkeys (platyrrhines) from South and Central America and Old World monkeys (catarrhines of the superfamily Cercopithecoidea) from Africa and Asia. Hominoid apes (gibbons, orangutans, gorillas, chimpanzees, and humans), which all lack tails, are also catarrhines but are not considered monkeys. (Tailless monkeys may be called "apes", incorrectly according to modern usage; thus the tailless Barbary macaque is sometimes called the "Barbary ape".) Because old world monkeys are more closely related to hominoid apes than to new world monkeys, yet the term "monkey" excludes these closer relatives, monkeys are referred to as a paraphyletic group. Simians ("monkeys") and tarsiers emerged within haplorrhines some 60 million years ago. New world monkeys and catarrhine monkeys emerged within the simians some 35 millions years ago. Old world monkeys and Hominoidea emerged within the catarrhine monkeys some 25 millions years ago. Extinct basal simians such as Aegyptopithecus or Parapithecus [35-32 Million years ago] are also considered monkeys by primatologists.

the monkey king
There's nothing real about your fight
There's nothing in the shit you write
You've got charisma in your hair
The make-up lady put in there.. and it's
One, one plus two is three, can't we get along? (1+2+3+4)x(2+2+3+4)x(2x3)+(2+4) = 666
Bring it on the Monkey Kong, it's just a name they got it wrong
Every second every day, every minute that you waste
You're not everything you seem
Keep on fighting for the right, keep on rocking every night
That's exactly what I mean
It's all gone wrong, they called it Monkey Kong
You're the captain of the team
You're the new king of the scene
You hire a guy to keep you punk
Laugh it up 'cause you don't know you're sunk
One, one plus two is three, can't we get along? (1+2+3+4)x(2+2+3+4)x(2x3)+(2+4) = 666
Bring it on the Monkey Kong, it's just a name they got it wrong
Every second every day, every minute that you waste
You're not everything you seem
Keep on fighting for the right, keep on rocking every night
That's exactly what I mean
It's all gone wrong, they called it Monkey Kong
How high can you try....
Every second every day, every minute that you waste
You're not everything you seem
Keep on fighting for the right, keep on rocking every night
That's exactly what I mean
It don't matter what you say, it won't change it anyway
You're not what you want to be
Every minute that you waste, when you're taking on the place
That's exactly what I mean
