Ahh, Eternal Melody... one of those super cheap import games that you can pick up for Playstation or Saturn these days that no one will put up much footage for... at a glance, the graphics look pretty crappy (particularly the backdrops) and the characters slighty amateurish and unappealing... without much else to go on, you'd have to wonder: Why even bother? I originally uploaded the opening to this game a few years back. Well, the game is actually not bad and the characters are relatively cute... but the game takes TOO DAMN LONG to get started. If you can actually get through the introduction of this game and still care about it afterwards (which is approximately 40 minutes... there are OVAs shorter than that), then you are quite a patient individual. I could see if this was a strict visual novel or offered something OTHER than listening (a few choices to break up the tedium would have been great), but it's more than a visual novel. I checked to see if there were vids of the game beyond the opening. I found one, and it was alllllll intro, but I don't blame the uploader, it's just ridiculous in that fashion. You can skip it, but you won't get the primary scoop on each character. If you don't know basic Japanese, then you can praise the start button. Whoopie! Developed by Starlight Marry and published by Media Works, Eternal Melody is a "Relationship Board Game RPG Survival Simulation" about a nameless hero who gets into a fatal accident and awakens to find himself in another world, where he meets a fiesty fairy named Philly (or フィリー, some translations include Firy, Phyry, etc.) who acts as your guardian and guide in the strange new world you've entered. Philly, along with Roxanne, a minstrel who always seems to be at the right place at the right time. Roxanne offers guidance to friend as well as foe to set the stage for adventure as you try to adjust to the odd surroundings and strange people. This video introduces: - Tina Harvel (ティナ・ハーヴェル), a 19 year old with brown hair; very polite and respectful. She doesn't talk about it, but Tina harbors a big secret; she has anemia and is sickly, though she tries to keep up appearances. She reminds me of Azure Dreams' Cheryl, only more attractive and not so selfish. Even given her fragile state, she gives her all to help your hero and is willing to spend as much time with you as possible; possibly due to the fact that she could die young. Due to her condition, she does not stay in heavy sunlit areas for long periods of time...which is why she is typically found in forest areas or places with shade. She has been known to collapse in public areas. - Iris Meel (アイリス・ミール), a 20 year old maid. Servant of (Princess) Lemit. Not much to say really. She is very loyal to Lemit, even if she is a B****. Most people can't understand why she cares so much about Lemit, but she sees a kind and gentle girl in her, somewhere. Tina is my favorite character in this game. She's polite and always thinking of the protagonist. She also starts off with high affection towards the protagonist and is most likely to be the easiest character to please and influence. She is curious about your world and its "elevators" and "escalators" that don't exist in her world because they allow people in your world to travel buildings of 50+ stories with ease. To her, it's like magic. She is curious and also wonders what you think of her and how she feels about you. More in the game sample.
