Of all the possible engines available in the Subaru Impreza range, one thing remained constant: they all had four cylinders. That's why we're filming this one. With a flat-six engine sourced from a Subaru SVX, and driveline, suspension, and interior parts sourced from a huge range of other Subaru's, this is one of the more interesting modified Subaru's we've seen. Amazingly enough, it works!

2016 Subaru Forester - Review & Offroad Test Drive. The 2016 Subaru Forester features a 2.5L boxer engine matched with a 6 speed manual transmission or an optional CVT. The four cylinder engine produces 170 HP and 174 lb-ft of torque, sent to all four wheels. The vehicle is rated 24 mpg in the city, 32 mpg on the highway, and has plenty of room in the rear seats for adults, and plenty of cargo space in the back, all on top of 8.7 inches of ground clearance.

7 Reasons Not To Buy The 2016 Subaru WRX STI. The Subaru WRX STI is an amazing car, but it does have its disadvantages. The engine (EJ257) is dated, tracing its ancestry back to 2004, with total horsepower relatively unchanged. All of the power is on the top end, there's fairly significant turbo lag, and the fuel economy is terrible. Cargo space and the fuel tank are smaller than the previous generation's hatchback, and with the new WRX performing almost equally well on the street, it's hard to justify the extra expense. Most importantly, with the 2016 Ford Focus RS around the corner, it's promising more power, less weight, and an equivalent price. Certainly worth checking out before writing a $40k check.

Subaru (スバル?) Japanese pronunciation: [subaɽu]; English pronunciation: /ˈsuːbəruː/ SOO-bə-roo is the automobile manufacturing division of Japanese transportation conglomerate Fuji Heavy Industries (FHI).
Subaru is internationally known for their use of the boxer engine layout similar to those in cars like the Volkswagen Beetle and Porsche 911, in most of their vehicles above 1500 cc as well as their use of the all wheel drive drive-train layout, the 4x4 first introduced in 1972, and the AWD became standard equipment for mid-size and smaller cars in most international markets as of 1996, and is now standard in all US market Subaru vehicles. Fuji Heavy Industries, the parent company of Subaru, is currently in a partial partnership with Toyota Motor Corporation, which owns 16.5% of FHI.
Subaru is the Japanese name for the Pleiades star cluster, which in turn inspires the Subaru logo and alludes to the six companies that merged to create FHI.

7 Reasons Not To Buy The 2016 Subaru WRX STI. The Subaru WRX STI is an amazing car, but it does have its disadvantages. The engine (EJ257) is dated, tracing its ancestry back to 2004, with total horsepower relatively unchanged. All of the power is on the top end, there's fairly significant turbo lag, and the fuel economy is terrible. Cargo space and the fuel tank are smaller than the previous generation's hatchback, and with the new WRX performing almost equally well on the street, it's hard to justify the extra expense. Most importantly, with the 2016 Ford Focus RS around the corner, it's promising more power, less weight, and an equivalent price. Certainly worth checking out before writing a $40k check. The four cylinder engine produces 170 HP and 174 lb-ft of torque, sent to all four wheels. The vehicle is rated 24 mpg in the city, 32 mpg on the highway, and has plenty of room in the rear seats for adults, and plenty of cargo space in the back, all on top of 8.7 inches of ground clearance.

7 Reasons Not To Buy The 2016 Subaru WRX STI. The Subaru WRX STI is an amazing car, but it does have its disadvantages. The engine (EJ257) is dated, tracing its ancestry back to 2004, with total horsepower relatively unchanged. All of the power is on the top end, there's fairly significant turbo lag, and the fuel economy is terrible. Cargo space and the fuel tank are smaller than the previous generation's hatchback, and with the new WRX performing almost equally well on the street, it's hard to justify the extra expense. Most importantly, with the 2016 Ford Focus RS around the corner, it's promising more power, less weight, and an equivalent price. Certainly worth checking out before writing a $40k check.
