My name is Ona and I'm from Mallorca.
It's hard for me to explain where I'm from. And it's not because I had lived in a lot places.
I've actually lived most of my life, if not all of it, in Mallorca in a city called
Alcudia, and I haven't lived anywhere else. But for me home it's something more than where you grow up, but a place that connects with who you are and where you feel more comfortable.
And I always had this dilemma
... I'm someone meant to live in a city. I need a big city with a lot of space, with no schedules and a lot of people and I guess that's why from a very young age I've been obsessed with
New York. But at the same time I grew up in a family where I've been told that how important it is to have a culture and an
Identity. And Catalan it's a language that gives you all those things. When you speak Catalan, it's something more than that, it apply values and the understanding of its history that makes you understand that the language that you are speaking somehow describes a part of who you are. And for me
Catalan language has been something than a language I've used to grow relationship with other people, but i has thought me to fight for the thins
I believe in, and at the same time to love, and to hate, and all those thing that we humans being do.
So it is hard to explain where home is, but I do know that a part of it, may be the first floor or the lobby, would be Mallorca and the
Catalan Countries without a doubt, but I'm still young and hopefully
I'll have a bigger house someday so I can have more floors that could be New York or any other part in the world.
So, my name is Ona and I still not sure where home is.
