New music may refer to:
Deep Forest is a musical group originally consisting of two French musicians, Michel Sanchez and Eric Mouquet. They compose a style of world music, sometimes called ethnic electronica, mixing ethnic with electronic sounds and dance beats or chillout beats. Their sound has been described as an "ethno-introspective ambient world music." They were nominated for a Grammy Award in 1994 for Best World Music Album, and in 1995 they won the Award for the album Boheme. The group also became World Music Awards Winner - French group with the highest 1995 world sales. Their albums have sold over 10 million copies. Michel Sanchez started his own career as singer on 2005 and Eric Mouquet continued working under "Deep Forest".
Michel Sanchez came up with the idea of mixing the native Baka pygmy spoken word with modern music after hearing on-site recordings of these tribes conversing. Along with Eric Mouquet they created the project Deep Forest. Their first self-titled album (nominated for a Grammy) was released in 1992, with "Sweet Lullaby" being the smash single which would put Deep Forest on the musical map (UK Top 10 hit). The song "Sweet Lullaby" is adapted from a traditional song from the Solomon Islands. The album Deep Forest was dance-driven and the samples were heavily digitised and edited. It was re-released as a limited edition in 1994 under the name World Mix.
Music is an art form and cultural activity whose medium is sound and silence. The common elements of music are pitch (which governs melody and harmony), rhythm (and its associated concepts tempo, meter, and articulation), dynamics (loudness and softness), and the sonic qualities of timbre and texture (which are sometimes termed the "color" of a musical sound). Different styles or types of music may emphasize, de-emphasize or omit some of these elements. Music is performed with a vast range of instruments and with vocal techniques ranging from singing to rapping, and there are solely instrumental pieces, solely vocal pieces and pieces that combine singing and instruments. The word derives from Greek μουσική (mousike; "art of the Muses"). In its most general form, the activities describing music as an art form include the production of works of music (songs, tunes, symphonies, and so on), the criticism of music, the study of the history of music, and the aesthetic examination of music. Ancient Greek and Indian philosophers defined music as tones ordered horizontally as melodies and vertically as harmonies. Common sayings such as "the harmony of the spheres" and "it is music to my ears" point to the notion that music is often ordered and pleasant to listen to. However, 20th-century composer John Cage thought that any sound can be music, saying, for example, "There is no noise, only sound."
Central African may refer to:
A pygmy is a member of an ethnic group whose average height is unusually short; anthropologists define pygmy as a member of any group where adult men are on average less than 150 cm (4 feet 11 inches) tall. A member of a slightly taller group is termed "pygmoid".
The term is most associated with peoples of Central Africa, such as the Aka, Efé and Mbuti. If the term pygmy is defined as a group's men having an average height below 1.55 meters (5 feet 1 inch), then there are also pygmies in Australia, Thailand, Malaysia, the Andaman Islands,Indonesia, the Philippines, Papua New Guinea, Bolivia, and Brazil, including some Negritos of Southeast Asia.
The term pygmy, as used to refer to diminutive people, derives from Greek πυγμαῖος pygmaios via Latin Pygmaei (sing. Pygmaeus), derived from πυγμή – meaning a fist, or a measure of length corresponding to the distance between the elbow and knuckles. (See also Greek pechus.) In Greek mythology the word describes a tribe of dwarfs, first described by Homer, the ancient Greek poet, and reputed to live in India and south of modern-day Ethiopia.

A Children's singing game. Nze-nze-nze is the round of the cricket; the song's title evokes the noise that the insect makes with its elytra. Holding hands, the children go around in a circle; they can be heard in the foreground in turn as they pass the microphones, and one can make out their footsteps marking the time. From the album: Anthologie de la musique des Pygmées Aka - Centrafrique. PS I don't own this music, but I like to share the beautiful things in the world..

God gave us the earth as precious gift The earth is a place for us to live And cleanse us before entering the real paradise. UNESCO: Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity - 2008 URL: https://ich.unesco.org/en/RL/polyphonic-singing-of-the-aka-pygmies-of-central-africa-00082 Description: The Aka Pygmies living in the south-west region of the Central African Republic have developed a distinctive vocal musical tradition, which involves a complex type of contrapuntal polyphony based on four voices, mastered by all members of the Aka community. Music and dance form an integral part of Aka rituals including ceremonies related to the inauguration of new encampments, hunting and funerals. Unlike polyphonic systems that are written down in notation, the vocal tradition of the Aka Pygmies allows for spontaneous expression and improvisation. During performances, each singer can change his or h...

The Cave of Fertility is a holy cave where sangomas or traditional healers of the Sotho people have lived for centuries. Pilgrims from all over Lesotho and South Africa come here to be instructed, enlightened and healed. The Cave is situated at an altitude of 2000 m on the border of Lesotho and South Africa. The 2012 film expedition organised by Spirits of Africa portrays the Cave and its inhabitants. It focuses on Josephine Moloi Malrato who heals people while in trance with the power of an ancestor who lives inside her. The film also portrays three other sangomas and a night of singing and trance in which hundreds of pilgrims worship in the cave.

[FATHER]
Where have I been?
How did we change,
Caught in this strange
New music?
Say,
Was I away too long?
[MOTHER]
Just like that tune,
Simple and clear,
I've come to hear
New music.
[FATHER]
New music.
Why,
Why can't you hear the song?
[YOUNGER BROTHER]
His fingers stoke those keys,
And every note says 'Please',
And every chord says 'Turn my way.'
[MOTHER, FATHER]
I thought I knew
What love was but these lovers play...
[MOTHER, FATHER, YOUNGER BROTHER]
New music!
Haunting me,
And somehow taunting me-
My love was never half as true.
[FATHER]
And I as myself,
Why can't I sing it too?
[WORKERS, NEIGHBORS]
His fingers stoke those keys,
And every note says 'Please',
And every chord says 'Turn my way.'
[WORKERS, NEIGHBORS, FAMILY]
I thought I knew
What love was
but these lovers play
New music!
[ALL]
Haunting me,
And somehow taunting me-
My love was
Never half as true.
[COALHOUSE]
Sarah, my life has changed.
Sarah, you've got to see.
Sarah, we got a son!
Sarah, come down to me...
[SARAH]
You and your music
Singing deep in me,
Making nice to me,
Saying something so new-
[COALHOUSE]
[SARAH]
Changing everything,
Meaning everything,
[COALHOUSE]
Music
[SARAH]
Calling my heart to you...
[COALHOUSE]
All for you, girl.
You, Sarah.
[SARAH]
Play that melody,
Your sweet melody,
Calling my heart to you.
[COALHOUSE]
You.
[ALL (except Coalhouse & Sarah)]
Just like that tune,
Simple and clear,
I've come to hear
New music-
Breaking my heart,
Op'ning a door,
Chamging the world!
New music!
I'll
Hear it forevermore!
