This is the new 2018 Volkswagen Golf GTI facelift hot hatchback. Its 2.0 litre turbocharged four cylinder engine now produces 227bhp and 350Nm of torque. Power is sent to the front wheels and when equipped with a 6 speed DSG automatic gearbox it will do 0-62 MPH in 6.4 seconds and go onto a top speed of 154 MPH. 44 MPG combined is claimed.
This high quality interior now features the new 9.2 inch Discovery Pro touchscreen infotainment system. It supports Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Also new is a 12.3 inch digital drivers display. Boot space is 380 litres.
Costing from £27,865 for the manual car, or £29,935 for the DSG, the Golf GTI is still the benchmark for the hot hatch class.

I've teamed up with Pendle Leasing to bring you a new series of test drives in more obtainable cars and we're underway with the second video, featuring both the Volkswagen Golf GTI and the Golf R!
The GTI brand is iconic having being born over 4 decades ago and the mk VII version comes equipped with 220PS and 350Nm, along with familiar touches that have remained in the model throughout time; the tartan interior, red highlight across the grille and the golf ball gear knob.
The R was launched initially on the previous generation but now comes packed with 300PS and 380NM, capable of 4.9s 0-62mph with the DSG, but in this case I'm driving both cars for back to back test drives with 6 speed manuals.

"FAW-VW came to us to produce a new viral video to promote the golf GTI in china. The brief was to create a aggressive, new school video, that showcased the car in a "out of this world" environment and go beyond the limitations of live action shooting."

"With this project I wanted to do something really cool for GTi given it's dual role as a brand icon for VW as well as being simply a great car. The Inter-Galactic Grand Prix platform had a clear objective: reconfirm GTis position as THE cult urban sports car and engage the target customer group of young affluent urban males.
It centers around fantastic driving fun which is the essence of GTi. The tag line "Driving which is out of this world" works on two levels, projecting GTi into a futuristic fantasy world that resonates with the target audience and demonstrating it's winning performance credentials.
The execution is deliberately fast paced, high-adrenalin and sexy, creating an engaging and addictive world familiar to gamers.
The digital format meant we could run long with the movie unrestricted by media cost considerations and it's perfect for sharing to get the maximum online reach. The teaser phase used targeted online messages to direct people to the site.
DMG were the ideal partners to execute. Under the direction of Kai and Jason Kirby and the team of digital wizards worked their magic. The team had so much passion and talent they totally nailed the brief.
So a cut-through piece of work that will drive the desirability and awareness of GTi with it's influential target audience and no question will help sell cars.
No surprise that it has already driven our website hits to record levels nearly crashing the site."

Volkswagen Golf
The Volkswagen Golf is a small family car produced by the German manufacturer Volkswagen since 1974, marketed worldwide across seven generations, in various body configurations and under various nameplates – as the Volkswagen Rabbit in the United States and Canada (Mk1 and Mk5), and as the Volkswagen Caribe in Mexico (Mk1).
The original Golf Mk1 was a front-wheel drive, front-engined replacement for the air-cooled, rear-engined, rear-wheel drive Volkswagen Beetle. Historically, the Golf is Volkswagen's best-selling model and the world's second best-selling model, with more than 29 million built by 2012.
Most production of the Golf was initially in the 3-door hatchback style. Other variants include a 5-door hatchback, station wagon (Variant, from 1993), convertible (Cabriolet and Cabrio, 1979–2002, 2011–present), and a Golf-derived notchback sedan, variously called Volkswagen Jetta, Volkswagen Vento (from 1992) or Volkswagen Bora (from 1999). Golf
Golf is a club and ball sport in which players use various clubs to hit balls into a series of holes on a course in as few strokes as possible.
Golf is one of the few ball games that do not require a standardized playing area. The game is played on a course with an arranged progression of either nine or 18 holes. Each hole on the course must contain a tee box to start from, and a putting green containing the actual cup. There are other standard forms of terrain in between, such as the fairway, rough, and hazards, but each hole on a course is unique in its specific layout and arrangement.
Golf is played for the lowest number of strokes by an individual, known as stroke play, or the lowest score on the most individual holes in a complete round by an individual or team, known as match play. Stroke play is the most commonly seen format at all levels.

2018 Volkswagen Golf GTI Review - Inside Lane
This is the new 2018 Volkswagen Golf GTI facelift hot hatchback. Its 2.0 litre turbocharged four cylinder engine now produces 227bhp and 350Nm of torque. Power is sent to the front wheels and when equipped with a 6 speed DSG automatic gearbox it will do 0-62 MPH in 6.4 seconds and go onto a top speed of 154 MPH. 44 MPG combined is claimed. This high quality interior now features the new 9.2 inch Discovery Pro touchscreen infotainment system. It supports Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Also new is a 12.3 inch digital drivers display. Boot space is 380 litres. Costing from £27,865 for the manual car, or £29,935 for the DSG, the Golf GTI is still the benchmark for the hot hatch class.

I've teamed up with Pendle Leasing to bring you a new series of test drives in more obtainable cars and we're underway with the second video, featuring both the Volkswagen Golf GTI and the Golf R! The GTI brand is iconic having being born over 4 decades ago and the mk VII version comes equipped with 220PS and 350Nm, along with familiar touches that have remained in the model throughout time; the tartan interior, red highlight across the grille and the golf ball gear knob. The R was launched initially on the previous generation but now comes packed with 300PS and 380NM, capable of 4.9s 0-62mph with the DSG, but in this case I'm driving both cars for back to back test drives with 6 speed manuals. This is the new 2018 Volkswagen Golf GTI facelift hot hatchback. Its 2.0 litre turbocharged four cylinder engine now produces 227bhp and 350Nm of torque. Power is sent to the front wheels and when equipped with a 6 speed DSG automatic gearbox it will do 0-62 MPH in 6.4 seconds and go onto a top speed of 154 MPH. 44 MPG combined is claimed.
This high quality interior now features the new 9.2 inch Discovery Pro touchscreen infotainment system. It supports Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Also new is a 12.3 inch digital drivers display. Boot space is 380 litres.
Costing from £27,865 for the manual car, or £29,935 for the DSG, the Golf GTI is still the benchmark for the hot hatch class.

The GTI brand is iconic having being born over 4 decades ago and the mk VII version comes equipped with 220PS and 350Nm, along with familiar touches that have remained in the model throughout time; the tartan interior, red highlight across the grille and the golf ball gear knob.
The R was launched initially on the previous generation but now comes packed with 300PS and 380NM, capable of 4.9s 0-62mph with the DSG, but in this case I'm driving both cars for back to back test drives with 6 speed manuals.

2018 Volkswagen Golf GTI Review - Inside Lane
This is the new 2018 Volkswagen Golf GTI facelift hot hatchback. Its 2.0 litre turbocharged four cylinder engine now produces 227bhp and 350Nm of torque. Power is sent to the front wheels and when equipped with a 6 speed DSG automatic gearbox it will do 0-62 MPH in 6.4 seconds and go onto a top speed of 154 MPH. 44 MPG combined is claimed. This high quality interior now features the new 9.2 inch Discovery Pro touchscreen infotainment system. It supports Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Also new is a 12.3 inch digital drivers display. Boot space is 380 litres. Costing from £27,865 for the manual car, or £29,935 for the DSG, the Golf GTI is still the benchmark for the hot hatch class.

I've teamed up with Pendle Leasing to bring you a new series of test drives in more obtainable cars and we're underway with the second video, featuring both the Volkswagen Golf GTI and the Golf R! The GTI brand is iconic having being born over 4 decades ago and the mk VII version comes equipped with 220PS and 350Nm, along with familiar touches that have remained in the model throughout time; the tartan interior, red highlight across the grille and the golf ball gear knob. The R was launched initially on the previous generation but now comes packed with 300PS and 380NM, capable of 4.9s 0-62mph with the DSG, but in this case I'm driving both cars for back to back test drives with 6 speed manuals. Power is sent to the front wheels and when equipped with a 6 speed DSG automatic gearbox it will do 0-62 MPH in 6.4 seconds and go onto a top speed of 154 MPH. 44 MPG combined is claimed.
This high quality interior now features the new 9.2 inch Discovery Pro touchscreen infotainment system. It supports Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Also new is a 12.3 inch digital drivers display. Boot space is 380 litres.
Costing from £27,865 for the manual car, or £29,935 for the DSG, the Golf GTI is still the benchmark for the hot hatch class.

The GTI brand is iconic having being born over 4 decades ago and the mk VII version comes equipped with 220PS and 350Nm, along with familiar touches that have remained in the model throughout time; the tartan interior, red highlight across the grille and the golf ball gear knob.
The R was launched initially on the previous generation but now comes packed with 300PS and 380NM, capable of 4.9s 0-62mph with the DSG, but in this case I'm driving both cars for back to back test drives with 6 speed manuals.

"FAW-VW came to us to produce a new viral video to promote the golf GTI in china. The brief was to create a aggressive, new school video, that showcased the car in a "out of this world" environment and go beyond the limitations of live action shooting."

"With this project I wanted to do something really cool for GTi given it's dual role as a brand icon for VW as well as being simply a great car. The Inter-Galactic Grand Prix platform had a clear objective: reconfirm GTis position as THE cult urban sports car and engage the target customer group of young affluent urban males.
It centers around fantastic driving fun which is the essence of GTi. The tag line "Driving which is out of this world" works on two levels, projecting GTi into a futuristic fantasy world that resonates with the target audience and demonstrating it's winning performance credentials.
The execution is deliberately fast paced, high-adrenalin and sexy, creating an engaging and addictive world familiar to gamers.
The digital format meant we could run long with the movie unrestricted by media cost considerations and it's perfect for sharing to get the maximum online reach. The teaser phase used targeted online messages to direct people to the site.
DMG were the ideal partners to execute. Under the direction of Kai and Jason Kirby and the team of digital wizards worked their magic. The team had so much passion and talent they totally nailed the brief.
So a cut-through piece of work that will drive the desirability and awareness of GTi with it's influential target audience and no question will help sell cars.
No surprise that it has already driven our website hits to record levels nearly crashing the site."
