Troy (Ancient Greek: Τροία, Troia and Ἴλιον, Ilion, or Ἴλιος, Ilios; Latin: Trōia and Īlium;Hittite: Wilusa or Truwisa;Turkish: Truva) was a city situated in what is known from Classical sources as Asia Minor, now northwest Anatolia in modern Turkey, located south of the southwest end of the Dardanelles/Hellespont and northwest of Mount Ida at Hisarlık. It is the setting of the Trojan War described in the Greek Epic Cycle and especially in the Iliad, one of the two epic poems attributed to Homer. Metrical evidence from the Iliad and the Odyssey seems to show that the name Ἴλιον (Ilion) formerly began with a digamma: Ϝίλιον (Wilion). This was later supported by the Hittite form Wilusa.
A new capital called Ilium was founded on the site in the reign of the Roman Emperor Augustus. It flourished until the establishment of Constantinople and declined gradually during the Byzantine era.
In 1865, English archaeologist Frank Calvert excavated trial trenches in a field he had bought from a local farmer at Hisarlık, and in 1868, Heinrich Schliemann, a wealthy German businessman and archaeologist, also began excavating in the area after a chance meeting with Calvert in Çanakkale. These excavations revealed several cities built in succession. Schliemann was at first skeptical about the identification of Hisarlik with Troy, but was persuaded by Calvert and took over Calvert's excavations on the eastern half of the Hisarlik site, which was on Calvert's property. Troy VII has been identified with the Hittite city Wilusa, the probable origin of the Greek Ἴλιον, and is generally (but not conclusively) identified with Homeric Troy.

Victoria Banks
Victoria Wenonah Banks is a singer/songwriter from Port Carling, Muskoka, Ontario, Canada. Her self-produced debut CD When You Can Fly was released on the On Ramp/EMI Canada label in April 2009. The CD earned Banks a 2010 Canadian Indie Award nomination and six nominations at the 2009 Canadian Country Music Awards (CCMAs) including Album of the Year, Producer of the Year, Single of the Year ("The Wheel"), Songwriter of the Year ("The Wheel"), Female Artist of the Year and Rising Star, making Banks the most nominated female artist of 2009. The album's first single "The Wheel," reached the Top 20 on the Radio & Records Country Singles chart earning her a 2010 Canadian Radio Music Award nomination. Music videos for "The Wheel" and "When You Can Fly" received airplay on CMT Canada.
Banks was named both Female Artist of the Year and Songwriter(s)Of The Year at the 2010 CCMA Awards, and was nominated in the Female Artist of the Year category again in 2011.
Music career
Banks and Canadian country artist Deric Ruttan both went to high school in Bracebridge, Ontario where they performed in a band together. She went on to complete a degree in Zoology/Anthropology at the University of Toronto before moving to Nashville, Tennessee in 1998, where she signed her first publishing deal. From 1998-2002 she was a staff songwriter for Fame Music (aka House of Fame), from 2002-2007 she was a writer for Full Circle Music (Circle C Songs), and in 2007 she signed a contract with Nashville's Sony/ATV Publishing.

A new capital called Ilium[note 2] was founded on the site in the reign of the Roman Emperor Augustus. It flourished until the establishment of Constantinople and declined gradually during the Byzantine era.
In 1865, English archaeologist Frank Calvert excavated trial trenches in a field he had bought from a local farmer at Hisarlık, and in 1868, Heinrich Schliemann, a wealthy German businessman and archaeologist, also began excavating in the area after a chance meeting with Calvert in Çanakkale.[3][4] These excavations revealed several cities built in succession. Schliemann was at first skeptical about the identification of Hisarlik with Troy, but was persuaded by Calvert[5] and took over Calvert's excavations on the eastern half of the Hisarlik site, which was on Calvert's property. Troy VII has been identified with the Hittite city Wilusa, the probable origin of the Greek Ἴλιον, and is generally (but not conclusively) identified with Homeric Troy.
Today, the hill at Hisarlik has given its name to a small village near the ruins, supporting the tourist trade visiting the Troia archaeological site.[6] It lies within the province of Çanakkale, some 30 km south-west of the provincial capital, also called Çanakkale. The nearest village is Tevfikiye. The map here shows the adapted Scamander estuary with Ilium a little way inland across the Homeric plain.
Troia was added to the UNESCO World Heritage list in 1998.

Troy is a city well-known to both history and legend (as well as archaeology), and was situated in northwest Anatolia in what is now Turkey (but which was known in Classical sources as Asia Minor), located south of the southwest end of the Dardanelles/Hellespont and northwest of Mount Ida at Hisaronu. It is best known for being the setting of the Trojan War described in the Greek Epic Cycle and especially in the Iliad, one of the two epic poems attributed to Homer. Metrical evidence from the Iliad and the Odyssey seems to show that the name Ἴλιον (Ilion) formerly began with a digamma: Ϝίλιον (Wilion). This was later supported by the Hittite form Wilusa.
A new capital called Ilium[note 2] was founded on the site in the reign of the Roman Emperor Augustus. It flourished until the establishment of Constantinople and declined gradually during the Byzantine era.
In 1865, English archaeologist Frank Calvert excavated trial trenches in a field he had bought from a local farmer at Hisarlık, and in 1868, Heinrich Schliemann, a wealthy German businessman and archaeologist, also began excavating in the area after a chance meeting with Calvert in Çanakkale.[3][4] These excavations revealed several cities built in succession. Schliemann was at first skeptical about the identification of Hisarlik with Troy, but was persuaded by Calvert[5] and took over Calvert's excavations on the eastern half of the Hisarlik site, which was on Calvert's property. Troy VII has been identified with the Hittite city Wilusa, the probable origin of the Greek Ἴλιον, and is generally (but not conclusively) identified with Homeric Troy.
Today, the hill at Hisarlik has given its name to a small village near the ruins, supporting the tourist trade visiting the Troia archaeological site.[6] It lies within the province of Çanakkale, some 30 km south-west of the provincial capital, also called Çanakkale. In the Iliad, the Achaeans set up their camp near the mouth of the River Scamander (presumably modern Karamenderes),[9] where they had beached their ships. The city of Troy itself stood on a hill, across the plain of Scamander, where the battles of the Trojan War took place. The site of the ancient city is some 5 km from the coast today, but the ancient mouths of Scamander, some 3,000 years ago, were about that distance inland, pouring into a large bay that formed a natural harbour that has since been filled with alluvial material. Recent geological findings have permitted the reconstruction of how the original Trojan coastline would have looked, and the results largely confirm the accuracy of the Homeric geography of Troy.
In November 2001, geologists John C. Kraft from the University of Delaware and John V. Luce from Trinity College, Dublin presented the results[12][13][14][full citation needed] of investigations, begun in 1977, into the geology of the region. They compared the present geology with the landscapes and coastal features described in the Iliad and other classical sources, notably Strabo's Geographia, and concluded that there is a regular consistency between the location of Schliemann's Troy and other locations such as the Greek camp, the geological evidence, descriptions of the topography and accounts of the battle in the Iliad.
Besides the Iliad, there are references to Troy in the other major work attributed to Homer, the Odyssey, as well as in other ancient Greek literature (like Aeschylus' Oresteia). The Homeric legend of Troy was elaborated by the Roman poet Virgil in his Aeneid. The Greeks and Romans took for a fact the historicity of the Trojan War and the identity of Homeric Troy with the site in Anatolia. Alexander the Great, for example, visited the site in 334 BC and made sacrifices at tombs there associated with the Homeric heroes Achilles and Patroclus.
After the 1995 find of a Luwian biconvex seal at Troy VII, there has been a heated discussion over the language that was spoken in Homeric Troy. Frank Starke of the University of Tübingen recently demonstrated that the name of Priam, king of Troy at the time of the Trojan War, is connected to the Luwian compound Priimuua, which means "exceptionally courageous The certainty is growing that Wilusa/Troy belonged to the greater Luwian-speaking community," although it is not entirely clear whether Luwian was primarily the official language or in daily colloquial use.

We traveled to Albufeira to meet up with José Rosado & Ivo Duarte from the Algarve Paragliding Association. Rodrigo got in touch with them and surprised Troy, his aim was to set him up to face his fear of heights. Metarost City ist die größte Stadt, die wir bisher gefunden haben und dem entsprechend viele Leute werden wir heute auch zwangsweise besuchen müssen. Einige von denen haben sogar interessante Items für uns wie zB den Leichtstein oder die VM 01 Zerschneider!
Außerdem kämpfen wir heute das erste mal in diesem Lets Play gegen einen Arenaleiter und das ist niemans geringeres als Felizia, die den Steinorden bei sich trägt.
→ INFORMATIONEN ZU POKÉMON OMEGA RUBIN & ALPHA SAPHIR:
Pokémon Omega Rubin und Alpha Saphir sind zwei Pokémon-Spiele der Hauptreihe und die Remakes der Spiele Pokémon Rubin und Saphir aus der dritten Generation. Die beiden Spiele wurden am 7. Mai 2014 vorgestellt und werden am 28. November 2014 in Europa erscheinen. Wie ihre beiden Vorgänger Pokémon X und Y werden Omega Rubin und Alpha Saphir nur teilweise den 3D-Effekt nutzen.
Das erste Bildmaterial aus den Spielen wurde drei Tage nach der offiziellen Ankündigung ausgestrahlt. Es handelt sich um einen Teaser mit Kyogre und Groudon, in dem diese beiden legendären Pokémon das Wetter beeinflussen.
Das Spiel findet wie schon Pokémon Rubin und Saphir in der Hoenn-Region statt, die auf der japanischen Region Kyūshū basiert und aus einer Insel und einem ziemlich großen Meer besteht.
Wie in Pokémon-Spielen üblich ist es auch in diesem Ableger das Ziel eine Verbrecherorganisation aufzuhalten und Champ der Pokémonliga zu werden. Die Verbrecherorganisation hängt dieses Mal jedoch wie schon in Pokémon Rubin und Saphir von der Edition ab. In Omega Rubin ist diese Team Magma, die das Ziel hat das Land zu vergrößern, während in Alpha Saphir Team Aqua die Verbrecherorganisation darstellt, die versucht die Meere zu vergrößern.
Die Handlung des Spiels, die sich sehr an Pokémon Rubin und Saphir orientiert, beginnt damit, dass der Protagonist in nach Wurzelheim in der Hoenn-Region umzieht. Der Vater des Protagonisten, Norman, leitet dort in der Stadt Blütenburg City eine Pokémon-Arena. Bei der Wahl des Protagonisten kann zwischen dem männlichen Protagonisten Brix und dem weiblichen Protagonisten Maike entschieden werden, der Name ist jedoch frei wählbar. Daraufhin lernt der Spieler seinen Rivalen kennen, welcher der Sohn oder die Tochter von Professor Birk, dem Pokémon-Professor der Region ist, und schon Erfahrung als Trainer hat. Bei der Wahl von Brix als Protagonist nimmt hierbei Maike die Position als Rivale ein , bei der Wahl von Maike ist es dementsprechend umgekehrt. Daraufhin bekommt der Spieler vom Professor, der gerade von einem wilden Pokémon angegriffen wird, sein erstes Pokémon, um den Professor zu retten. Dabei kann der Spieler zwischen den drei Pokémon Geckarbor, Flemmli und Hydropi wählen., welche alle in ihrer letzten Entwicklungsstufe eine Mega-Entwicklung ausführen können. Dabei spielen wie in Pokémon Rubin und Saphir die legendären Pokémon Groudon und Kyogre eine große Rolle, die nun nach einer Protomorphose eine zusätzliche Form annehmen können. Eine weitere wichtige Rolle nimmt Rayquaza ein, welches eine Verbindung zum Geheimnis der Mega-Entwicklung besitzt. Auch der Champ der Pokémon-Liga, Troy Trumm, soll sich mit der Mega-Entwicklung befassen und soll in der Lage sein, sein Metagross in seine Mega-Form zu entwickeln.

Metarost City ist die größte Stadt, die wir bisher gefunden haben und dem entsprechend viele Leute werden wir heute auch zwangsweise besuchen müssen. Einige von denen haben sogar interessante Items für uns wie zB den Leichtstein oder die VM 01 Zerschneider!
Außerdem kämpfen wir heute das erste mal in diesem Lets Play gegen einen Arenaleiter und das ist niemans geringeres als Felizia, die den Steinorden bei sich trägt.
→ INFORMATIONEN ZU POKÉMON OMEGA RUBIN & ALPHA SAPHIR:
Pokémon Omega Rubin und Alpha Saphir sind zwei Pokémon-Spiele der Hauptreihe und die Remakes der Spiele Pokémon Rubin und Saphir aus der dritten Generation. Die beiden Spiele wurden am 7. Mai 2014 vorgestellt und werden am 28. November 2014 in Europa erscheinen. Wie ihre beiden Vorgänger Pokémon X und Y werden Omega Rubin und Alpha Saphir nur teilweise den 3D-Effekt nutzen.
Das erste Bildmaterial aus den Spielen wurde drei Tage nach der offiziellen Ankündigung ausgestrahlt. Es handelt sich um einen Teaser mit Kyogre und Groudon, in dem diese beiden legendären Pokémon das Wetter beeinflussen.
Das Spiel findet wie schon Pokémon Rubin und Saphir in der Hoenn-Region statt, die auf der japanischen Region Kyūshū basiert und aus einer Insel und einem ziemlich großen Meer besteht.
Wie in Pokémon-Spielen üblich ist es auch in diesem Ableger das Ziel eine Verbrecherorganisation aufzuhalten und Champ der Pokémonliga zu werden. Die Verbrecherorganisation hängt dieses Mal jedoch wie schon in Pokémon Rubin und Saphir von der Edition ab. In Omega Rubin ist diese Team Magma, die das Ziel hat das Land zu vergrößern, während in Alpha Saphir Team Aqua die Verbrecherorganisation darstellt, die versucht die Meere zu vergrößern.
Die Handlung des Spiels, die sich sehr an Pokémon Rubin und Saphir orientiert, beginnt damit, dass der Protagonist in nach Wurzelheim in der Hoenn-Region umzieht. Der Vater des Protagonisten, Norman, leitet dort in der Stadt Blütenburg City eine Pokémon-Arena. Bei der Wahl des Protagonisten kann zwischen dem männlichen Protagonisten Brix und dem weiblichen Protagonisten Maike entschieden werden, der Name ist jedoch frei wählbar. Daraufhin lernt der Spieler seinen Rivalen kennen, welcher der Sohn oder die Tochter von Professor Birk, dem Pokémon-Professor der Region ist, und schon Erfahrung als Trainer hat. Bei der Wahl von Brix als Protagonist nimmt hierbei Maike die Position als Rivale ein , bei der Wahl von Maike ist es dementsprechend umgekehrt. Daraufhin bekommt der Spieler vom Professor, der gerade von einem wilden Pokémon angegriffen wird, sein erstes Pokémon, um den Professor zu retten. Dabei kann der Spieler zwischen den drei Pokémon Geckarbor, Flemmli und Hydropi wählen., welche alle in ihrer letzten Entwicklungsstufe eine Mega-Entwicklung ausführen können.
