The Ukrainian Ground Forces (Ukrainian: Сухопутні Війська ЗСУ, Sukhoputni Viys’ka ZSU) are the land force component of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. They were formed from Soviet Ground Forces formations, units, and establishments, including three military districts (the Kiev, Carpathian, and Odessa Military Districts), that were on Ukrainian soil when the Soviet Union collapsed in 1990–92.
Throughout the 1990s, Ukraine retained much Soviet-era army equipment. Since then, however, Ukraine has upgraded its Ground Forces with advanced additions from domestic engineering and modifications. Currently, the Ukrainian Ground Forces buys military equipment only from Russia and other CIS states, as well as locally producing some of their own equipment.

Armed Forces of Ukraine Zbroyni Syly Ukrayiny, (ZSU)) is the military of Ukraine. They are the principle deterrent force against any aggression that could be shown against the sovereign state of Ukraine. All military and security forces, including the Armed Forces of Ukraine are under the command of the President of Ukraine, and subject to oversight by a permanent Verkhovna Rada parliamentary commission.
The Armed Forces of Ukraine are composed of the Ukrainian Ground Forces, the Ukrainian Navy, the Ukrainian Air Force, and the Ukrainian Airmobile Forces. Ukraine's naval forces maintain their own small Ukrainian Naval Infantry force as well as their own Ukrainian Naval Aviation force. The Ukrainian Sea Guard is the coast guard service of Ukraine, however it is part of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine and is not subordinate to the Navy. As a result of the Russian military intervention in Ukraine from 2014, the president commissioned governors of oblasts of Ukraine to create volunteer units under the government program "Territorial Defense". Initially these units received minimal funding coming from regional budgets and mostly relied on donations. In November 2014 most of the territorial battalions were integrated into Ukraine's Ground forces.
National Guard of Ukraine serves as the main reserve component of Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Due to the ongoing hostilities with the Russian Federation, Ukraine has greatly increased the size of its military forces to 204.000 soldiers (+46000 civil servants) in 2014, not counting paramilitary forces such as the border guards (53.000), the new formed National Guard of Ukraine (60.000) or the security service.Ukraine's armed forces came close to France, which maintained a 229,000 man force, as the largest in Europe when excluding Russia. It was reported that Ukraine's military swelled to 280,000 personnel. This was largely achieved by the repeated waves of mobilization bringing in new recruits while older soldiers had not yet been processed out, the state budget for 2015 ultimately calls for a force of 230,000. Hryhoriy Pedchenko reported that 51% of Ukraine's enlisted personnel were contract soldiers.
Military units of other states participate in multinational military exercises with Ukrainian forces in Ukraine regularly. Many of these exercises are held under the NATO co-operation program Partnership for Peace.
Since 3 June 2016 women are allowed to serve in combat units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Since the start of the War in Donbass in April 2014 in eastern Ukraine Ukraine is upgrading its Armed Forces.
History
Prior to the October Revolution of 1917, three separate self-governing Ukrainian states existed on what is Ukraine today. Each of these states possessed armed forces. The largest of these, the Ukrainian People's Republic, itself comprised three separate regimes. The Ukrainian People's Army is an example of one of the early national armed forces. Other armed independence movements existed in the wake of both the First World War and the Second World War, and these armies each had distinct organisation and uniforms. These armed forces, and the independent Ukrainian homeland for which they fought, were eventually incorporated into the neighboring states of Poland, Soviet Union, Hungary, Romania and Czechoslovakia.

Armed Forces of Ukraine Zbroyni Syly Ukrayiny, (ZSU)) is the military of Ukraine. They are the principle deterrent force against any aggression that could be shown against the sovereign state of Ukraine. All military and security forces, including the Armed Forces of Ukraine are under the command of the President of Ukraine, and subject to oversight by a permanent Verkhovna Rada parliamentary commission.
The Armed Forces of Ukraine are composed of the Ukrainian Ground Forces, the Ukrainian Navy, the Ukrainian Air Force, and the Ukrainian Airmobile Forces. Ukraine's naval forces maintain their own small Ukrainian Naval Infantry force as well as their own Ukrainian Naval Aviation force. The Ukrainian Sea Guard is the coast guard service of Ukraine, however it is part of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine and is not subordinate to the Navy. As a result of the Russian military intervention in Ukraine from 2014, the president commissioned governors of oblasts of Ukraine to create volunteer units under the government program "Territorial Defense". Initially these units received minimal funding coming from regional budgets and mostly relied on donations. In November 2014 most of the territorial battalions were integrated into Ukraine's Ground forces.
National Guard of Ukraine serves as the main reserve component of Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Due to the ongoing hostilities with the Russian Federation, Ukraine has greatly increased the size of its military forces to 204.000 soldiers (+46000 civil servants) in 2014, not counting paramilitary forces such as the border guards (53.000), the new formed National Guard of Ukraine (60.000) or the security service.Ukraine's armed forces came close to France, which maintained a 229,000 man force, as the largest in Europe when excluding Russia. It was reported that Ukraine's military swelled to 280,000 personnel. This was largely achieved by the repeated waves of mobilization bringing in new recruits while older soldiers had not yet been processed out, the state budget for 2015 ultimately calls for a force of 230,000. Hryhoriy Pedchenko reported that 51% of Ukraine's enlisted personnel were contract soldiers.
Military units of other states participate in multinational military exercises with Ukrainian forces in Ukraine regularly. Many of these exercises are held under the NATO co-operation program Partnership for Peace.
Since 3 June 2016 women are allowed to serve in combat units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

That it is “Russia not fulfilling the Minsk agreements” [which forbid heavy fire, among other things.] But Russia is not party to the Minsk agreement - only Kiev and the leaders of the Donbass are. The only way this story works, is when the Western viewer is told that there is a “Russian invasion” in the Ukraine. It is common sense that if that was true, Kiev would not be standing today.
Pondering the origins of their names, it is very difficult not to get mired into the Zionist discussion. Why does this group of people feel entitled to the Earth? The majority of us strive to cooperate and live in peace with all the peoples of the world – Russians, Americans, it doesn’t matter.
I feel the need to distinguish between Zionism and Jews here, because just as there are Muslims and radicals, as well as European Christians and white supremacists, my comments concern only the Zionist cabal and should not be taken out of context.

Motorola's Unit Sparta Battalion was also in the vicinity. In Mid-January were very serious battles for the old and new terminals of the Airport, where suspected mercenaries were also fighting alongside UAF, evident from NATO Weapon stockpiles found (https://youtu.be/HO3RuLUZneg). The Ukrainian Armed Forces needed to take the Donetsk Airport back at any cost, thus started bombing and shelling the City itself. The people were angry from a earlier multiple artillery strikes on their city which killed civilians including children (at 20:50 on the left side is seen a freshly dead civilian on the street). The captured colonel was giving the coordinates of where to shell, which was Donetsk Central City District, instead of NAF positions, in hopes that NAF would retreat from the Airport to defend the Citizens of Donetsk, but instead the DPR ambushed the Artillery Positions and captured the Colonel. The conclusion of the battle for the Airport would later lead to the Battle of Debaltseve 2-3 weeks later, which was captured just hours before Minsk II Ceasefire was implemented (the ceasefire was a tactic by Poroshenko and the EU in hopes to freeze the Battle of Debatlseve and prevent it from returning to DPR & LPR Control).
Ukrainian Commanders leaving their units' to save their own asses seems to be a common act. A compilation of such situations will soon be translated and uploaded.

The Colonel was released in June I believe (will re-check to clarify). He is considered a "Hero" of Ukraine, was awarded a medal by President Poroshenko for "Bravery & Courage in the face of captivity by an Aggressive Nation" even though Somali + Sparta Battalion's are consisted of Donetsk residents which has been proven, and I believe the Colonel now trains and instructs future Artillery Personnel based on information last heard of him.
The others were later exchanged in late February with the other 1,500 POWs taken captive in mid-February during the Debaltseve battle.

The bitter conflict in Ukraine has cost thousands of lives, but the Russian government has continuously denied sending its soldiers to the frontlines, despite accusations to the contrary from NATO and Western officials.
Since August 2014, a small but steady stream of coffins began arriving in villages across Russia, containing the maimed bodies of soldiers killed in “unknown circumstances.” Some would be buried hastily at night or in secret funerals, their graves zealously guarded from prying outsiders. Journalists investigating the deaths have reported being threatened with intimidation and attacks.
