Steve Christian

Steven Raymond Christian (born 26 June 1951, Pitcairn Island) is a political figure from the Pitcairn Islands.

Mayor

Christian was the Mayor of the Pitcairn Islands, a British dependency in the Pacific Ocean, from 7 December 1999 to 30 October 2004. He also acted as the island's supervising engineer, dentist, radiographer, and as coxswain of the longboat, which is described as Pitcairn's umbilical cord to the outside world. He was formally dismissed from office on 30 October 2004, following his rape conviction on 24 October.

Background

Christian is a patrilineal descendant of Fletcher Christian, leader of the mutineers in the late 18th century on the HMS Bounty, a story told in the 1932 Nordoff and Hall novel Mutiny on the Bounty, and several subsequent motion picture versions. He is the son of Ivan Roa Christian and Verna Carlene "Dobrey" Young, a descendant of Ned Young. Ivan Roa Christian is the son of Richard Charles Edgar Christian and nephew of Charles Richard Parkin Christian, and is the grandson of Francis Hickson Christian. Public respect for Steve Christian's lineage gave him considerable influence long before he held political office, first as a member of the Island Council in 1976. He again served on the Council in 1982, and was briefly Chairman of the Internal Committee (considered the second-most influential political position on the island) in 1985. He was to hold this position again in 1991 and 1992, 1994 and 1995, and 1998 and 1999, when he was elected as the island's first mayor. The title was new but the office was not: the mayor had previously been known as the magistrate.

Lindsey Stirling

Lindsey Stirling (born September 21, 1986) is an American violinist, dancer, performance artist, singer and composer. She presents choreographed violin performances, both live and in music videos found on her YouTube channel, Lindsey Stirling, which she introduced in 2007.

Stirling performs a variety of music styles, from classical to pop and rock to electronic dance music. Aside from original work, her discography contains covers of songs by other musicians and various soundtracks. Her music video, "Crystallize" finished as the eighth-most watched video of 2012, and her cover version of "Radioactive" with Pentatonix won Response of the Year in the first YouTube Music Awards in 2013. Stirling achieved one million singles sold worldwide by August 2014. As of April 2015, her Lindseystomp YouTube channel exceeded 7 million subscribers and over a billion total views.

Stirling has been named in Forbes magazine's 30 Under 30 In Music: The Class Of 2015. Forbes notes her quarter-finalist position on America's Got Talent season five in 2010, a No. 2 position on the Billboard 200 for her second album Shatter Me in 2014, and her 7 million subscribers on YouTube.

Selena Gomez

Selena Marie Gomez (/səˈliːnə məˈriː ˈɡoʊmɛz/ sə-LEE-nə mə-REE GOH-mez;Spanish pronunciation: [seˈlena ˈɣomes]; born July 22, 1992) is an American singer and actress. Born and raised in Grand Prairie, Texas, she was first featured on the children's series Barney & Friends in the early 2000s. In 2007, Gomez came to prominence after being cast in the Disney Channel series Wizards of Waverly Place, in which she starred as the lead character, Alex Russo, until its conclusion in 2012. She formed the band Selena Gomez & the Scene after signing a recording contract with Hollywood Records in 2008; they released the studio albums Kiss & Tell (2009), A Year Without Rain (2010), and When the Sun Goes Down (2011) before beginning a hiatus in 2012.

Gomez entered the film industry with star billings in feature films including Ramona and Beezus (2010), Monte Carlo (2011), and Hotel Transylvania (2012). Post Malone

Austin Post (born July 4, 1995), better known by his stage name Post Malone, is an American recording artist and songwriter from Dallas, Texas. He first gained major recognition for his single "White Iverson" after releasing it on SoundCloud in February 2015. He is currently signed with Republic Records.

Early life

Austin Post was born on July 4, 1995, in Syracuse, New York. When he was 10-years old, he and his family moved to Dallas, Texas. He enjoyed playing basketball and watching sports. His father was the Dallas Cowboys' assistant director of food and beverage, and this meant that he was able to get free food and tickets to Dallas Cowboy games.

Post then taught himself on how to play the saxophone, and then he became a member of the heavy metal band in high school. He credited his initial interest in learning guitar to the popular video game Guitar Hero. He first learned how to produce music through FL Studio. When he was 16-years old, he's been started working on his first mixtape. He showed it to some of his classmates and it gained some popularity at his school. He credits his love for music to his father, who exposed him to many genres, including country music, while growing up and also his cousin Raj who exposed him to rap music at a young age. He often mentions his cousin who he used to watch basketball with from a young age but has lost touch with because of his new found fame.
