Planting time is winding down. End of October is typically the end of the line for planting and transplanting most landscape plants as well as getting new grass on the lawn. That doesn't mean anything you plant from here on out is doomed. It just means that the survival odds start to go down, given less time for new plants to root before the ground gets too cold....
