Hilversum:
Hello, we are Vincent and Kiek. We're in the third year of the Quest Roland Holst.
Kiek: I'm 14 years living in Vreeland and play hockey in Loenen mixed hockey club, in my free time I often play soccer, play games, or do things with my friends.
Vincent: I am 15 years, living in Hilversum and football at HSV Wasmeer in my spare time I often play soccer or do things with friends.
We will guide you in Hilversum, the media city of the Netherlands.
Hilversum has a modern, easy drive. This is the beginning of our tour of Hilversum. Around the station are many coffee shops. In holland coffee shops are legal, they are selling soft drugs like hashish and marijuana. Since the Netherlands is also internationally known for. We continue our journey to something typically Hilversum, houses built in the Dudok style. Many houses are built in Hilversum Dudok style. Here are some examples of the Dudok style (Dudok houses showing) the Town Hall of Hilversum is one of Dudok's most famous works, it is also one of Hilversum's famous buildings. People come from different countries to Hilversum to the famous town hall to see. From the hall we go to another famous building Hilversum: the Institute for picture and sound. The building is very stained as you can see and therefore is particularly well known. The building serves as a media archive and museum.
It has about 700,000 hours of audiovisual material stored as radio and television programs, documentaries, music and more.

The Roland Holst quest:
We are on the Roland Holst Quest, Quest is a different way of learning.
At Quest you will learn by exploring. We have almost no books, but we get a lot of loose papers and modules. Often we get a subject that we should do research and at the end of the period to hold a presentation. In Quest to give almost every subject at the end of a period of a presentation.
We also have largely different hours, classrooms and teachers than mainstream education.
This was the tour of Hilversum, it was nice to show you our city.

Hilversum (help·info) is a municipality and a town in the Netherlands, in the province of North Holland. Located in the region called "'t Gooi", it is the largest town in that area. It is surrounded by heathland, woods, meadows, lakes, and smaller villages. Hilversum is part of the Randstad, one of the largest conurbations in Europe.
Hilversum lies 30 km (19 mi) south-east of Amsterdam and 20 km (12 mi) north of Utrecht.
The town is often called "media city" since it is the principal centre for radio and television broadcasting in the Netherlands. Radio Netherlands, heard worldwide via shortwave radio since the 1920s, is also based here. Hilversum is home to an extensive complex of audio and television studios belonging to the national broadcast production company NOS, as well as to the studios and offices of all the Dutch public broadcasting organizations and many commercial TV production companies. As a result many old radio sets in Britain had a "Hilversum” dial position marked on their tuning scales (along with other exotic locations like Athlone).

Kiek: I'm 14 years living in Vreeland and play hockey in Loenen mixed hockey club, in my free time I often play soccer, play games, or do things with my friends.
Vincent: I am 15 years, living in Hilversum and football at HSV Wasmeer in my spare time I often play soccer or do things with friends.
We will guide you in Hilversum, the media city of the Netherlands.
Hilversum has a modern, easy drive. This is the beginning of our tour of Hilversum. Around the station are many coffee shops. In holland coffee shops are legal, they are selling soft drugs like hashish and marijuana. Since the Netherlands is also internationally known for. We continue our journey to something typically Hilversum, houses built in the Dudok style. Many houses are built in Hilversum Dudok style. Here are some examples of the Dudok style (Dudok houses showing) the Town Hall of Hilversum is one of Dudok's most famous works, it is also one of Hilversum's famous buildings. People come from different countries to Hilversum to the famous town hall to see. From the hall we go to another famous building Hilversum: the Institute for picture and sound. The building is very stained as you can see and therefore is particularly well known. The building serves as a media archive and museum.
It has about 700,000 hours of audiovisual material stored as radio and television programs, documentaries, music and more.

We are on the Roland Holst Quest, Quest is a different way of learning.
At Quest you will learn by exploring. We have almost no books, but we get a lot of loose papers and modules. Often we get a subject that we should do research and at the end of the period to hold a presentation. In Quest to give almost every subject at the end of a period of a presentation.
We also have largely different hours, classrooms and teachers than mainstream education.
This was the tour of Hilversum, it was nice to show you our city.

The Travellers' Guide to Happiness is about the circle of life on a small scale. It shows how everything is connected and follows a certain path over and over again. Nature's pattern in unnoticeable daily things!

Gijsbert Nieuwland (Gouda, 5 mei 1912 – Hilversum, 22 januari 1975) was een Nederlands dirigent, pianist en organist. Nieuwland kreeg zijn eerste muzieklessen in zijn geboortestad. Later studeerde hij aan het Rotterdams Conservatorium muziektheorie, piano en orgel bij onder andere Jan Hermanus Besselaar jr. (1874-1952). Aansluitend studeerde hij bij Eduard Flipse instrumentatie en orkestdirectie. In 1945 werd hij benoemd tot de eerste directeur van de Marinierskapel der Koninklijke Marine in Rotterdam. Hij heeft waardevolle opbouw diensten gedaan en tijdens zijn dirigentschap tot 1957 wist hij de kapel tot internationale vermaardheid op te werken. Nieuwland heeft mede de basis gelegd voor de grote populariteit van dit militair beroepsharmonieorkest.
Zijn opvolger bij de Marinierskapel werd Henk van Lijnschooten en Nieuwland werd hoofd van de afdeling lichte muziek bij de AVRO. In 1962 volgde hij Hugo de Groot op als dirigent van het Promenade Orkest van de Nederlandse Omroep Stichting. Hij verzorgde onder andere de muziek voor de populaire tv-series Floris en Herkent U deze melodie. Gijsbert Nieuwland overleed in 1975 op 62-jarige leeftijd.
