Headache is one of the most common disorders of the nervous system and one of the most commonly experienced discomforts that affect people all over the world.
In
Traditional Chinese Medicine, we look at headache from a holistic perspective. We differentiate the pain into syndromes to find the root cause.
Some acupuncture points that we can use to do this are LI4, and LV3, ST8, and DU24. Of course, additional points can be added or modified depending on other aspects of your condition.

Meditation as Medicine: Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction
Google Tech Talk
May 17,
2010
ABSTRACT
Meditation as
Medicine:
Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction An
Approach to
Stress Reduction,
Chronic Pain and Illness
Presented by Bob Stahl.
The Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (
MBSR)
Program was developed by
Jon Kabat-Zinn, PhD, from the
University of Massachusetts Medical Center and featured in
Bill Moyer's series "
Healing and the Mind." This program is specifically designed for people living with stress, pain or illness, and supports individuals as well as the work of therapists and other caregivers.
MBSR consists of intensive training in mindfulness meditation, gentle mindful movement and group support.
The program is designed for people who yearn for more balance in day-to-day life, and it promotes healthy living, renewal and stress management.
Mindfulness is the practice of cultivating non-judgmental awareness in day-to-day life. Mindfulness develops the potential to experience each moment, no matter how difficult or intense, with serenity and clarity. One can feel more alive and gain access to the powerful inner resources for healing. Participants learn lifelong tools to help maximize life, even in the midst of stress, pain and illness.
Bob Stahl, PhD., founded and directs mindfulness-based stress reduction programs in five medical centers in the
San Francisco Bay area including
El Camino Hospital in
Mt. View and O'Cpnnor
Hospital in
San Jose. A long-time mindfulness practitioner, Bob lived in a
Buddhist monastery for 8.5 years and has completed MBSR teacher certification at University of Massachusetts Medical Center. Dr. Stahl also serves as an Adjunct
Senior Teacher for
Oasis the institute for mindfulness-based professional education and innovation of the
Center for Mindfulness in Medicine,
Health Care, and
Society at the
University of Massachusetts Medical School. Bob is a co-author of A Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction

The
Nuclear Medicine Stress Test is a diagnostic test of the heart that chemically increases the heartrate, and creates images of the
Myocardium. The Nuclear Medicine Stress Test is frequently ordered when a person is not able to walk on a Treadmill with enough vigor, such that they can reach the clinically significant
Target Heartrate. The Nuclear Medicine Stress Test has a duration of several hours. A Radio-Isotope is administered through an
Intravenous Access. This Radio-Isotope has an affinity, or attraction to the
Heart Muscle Cell, the Myocyte. The Radio-Isotope is given a specified amount of time to reach the
Myocardial Cells of the Heart. At this
point the Heartrate is increased via the administration of a stimulating medicine, also through the Intravenous Access. A Scan starts at this point, with the
Scanner being able to detect the "breakdown" of the Radio-Isotope. The Scanning process, via software technologies, creates images of the Myocardium, based on what areas of the Myocardium the Radio-Isotope was able to circulate to. Areas of the Heart that are poorly perfused, or not perfused at all, via the Coronary Arteries, appear as weaker images, or totally absent, in the resulting series of Myocardial images.
Abnormal findings may therefore require further evaluation, and potentially both medical and interventional therapeutic measures.

BioResonance
Therapy uses concepts of energy medicine and quantum physics to help the body’s self regulatory system. It describes the interaction between the bio-field of a living organism and frequency patterns that interact with specific parts of it.
It assists the body by boosting the healing signals that pass between the immune system and all cells in the body, while suppressing the signals given off by allergens and other stressors.
We've made a collection of videos that contain a combinaison of isolated

Albizia julibrissin
view photo
This freshly harvested
100% organic and finely powdered bark is very easy to use and just
3-5 grams is required for full effects. The bark makes a very sweet-woody flavored tea, which also has a soothing and spicy flavor to it. There are many shops selling lower grade Albizia bark and flowers for lower prices; their inferior quality causes you to waste your money for very little if any results
.
Traditional & Modern Use:
This tree is highly valuable in
Chinese medicine as it has the most powerful properties for treating stress, anxiety and depression and is often referred to as "Herbal
Prozac" or the "
Happiness Herb" because of its wonderful mood enhancing properties. The bark and the flowers (which we also offer at our shop) are the most potent parts of this plant and as little as 3-5g per day as a tea, extracted in alcohol or even rolled like a cigarette or smoked in a pipe works amazingly well! We here at BotanicalSpirit Shop have also done some research with this plant. Several volunteers have tested drinking/smoking the bark and flowers 20-30 minutes before going to bed and almost everyone had a more peaceful sleep with very vivid and introspective dreaming. The gentle sedating effects of Albizia are so impressive because they do not cause 'drowsiness' but instead a mild wave of relaxation and mild euphoria that won't put one to sleep necessarily, but definitely will allow one to sleep if need be; which is why it is a fantastic cure for insomnia.
The power of Albizia bark/flowers is becoming much more well known now in the western world like many other natural herbs that have been used for hundreds of years in other cultures but due to the strict

FDA regulations have never had a real chance to be proven until now.

Chinese stress balls can be an effective way to relieve stress through the soothing meditative effects of handling these non-medicine relaxation accessories. For those that have tried everything, these stress balls are another technique and tool that may work. These balls are rooted in Chinese and asian culture as a means of relaxation and meditation that can lead to the decrease of stress depending on the respective individual's receptiveness to this technique.
Some people are so stressed that they'll try anything to manage it. From work, home and other personal and health problems that may be plaguing the lives of different individuals, trying every relaxation technique is a good idea. Some solutions are just not for some people. From yoga to massage or exercise, people respond different to these types of activities for relieving stress. Some of these may just add stress to one's life. One of the historically popular ways to get rid of stress is with these
Baoding balls for stress. The patience needed to operate these and complete the activity correctly may help to sooth and ease the pain of daily modern life.
These stress balls are over 20 years old, but still work and
function as they did when they were bought. The case is really decorative and good for keeping the set of Baoding balls safe when not in use. The balls can help for relaxation and managing stress.
Stress relief is a major industry these days with the increasing workload on people
across the world. This is why devices like these are becoming popular again although the balls themselves, in terms of technology, have been around for ages. But, for stress therapy and management, people will try anything to get rid of or just help dealing with the growing pressures of life like introducing these
Baoding Chinese stress balls into their daily routine.

Title: Examining
Group Walks in
Nature and
Multiple Aspects of Well-Being: A Large-Scale
Study
Author: Marselle et al
Journal: Ecopsychology
Objective: To identify the mental, emotional, and social well-being benefits from participating in group walks in nature.
The health benefits of walking, like many types of exercise are well documented.
Walking regularly has been linked a reduced risk of:
Heart attack by 35%
Stroke by 34%
Overall death by 22%
Dementia
And weight loss
Among others
What is less well studied are the benefits of walking on your psychological health; namely mental, emotional and social well-being.
Another part of this study is the fact that the authors were curious about nature walks specifically. There is a small body of evidence that nature walks may actually be more healthy than say, walking on a track.

Dr HV Sardesai is an eminent Physician from
Pune, India. At the age of 83 he continues to practice clinical
Medicine and has helped countless patients over last 6 decades with his superb medical knowledge and unparalleled wisdom based on Vedantic philosophy.
Dr Sardesai was an honorary professor of Medicine at the
BJ Medical College, Pune. He was associated with many well know institutes like
Sassoon General Hospital,
Jahangir hospital and
MMF Joshi hospital. He has written over 15 books. Over the years he has given many lectures and has won many prestigious awards.
We have had the fortune to know Dr Sardesai both at professional and personal levels for many years. We have been highly blessed with his invaluable advice. We sincerely feel that his knowledge
and wisdom must be available to wider audiences via the modern social media.
We are grateful that for this series of short films, Dr Sardesai agreed to speak informally to a small audience and answer their queries. We would like to
point out that that these clips are are not topic
specific tutorials and hence one short film may have different topics covered other than the title.
We also emphasise that we do not have any commercial interests or sponsors. The intention of this series is purely health education.
We would like to thank Dr Sardesai’s family members for all their support!
