The Grimes Golden apple is a cultivar of apple originated in Wellsburg, Virginia (now West Virginia) in 1832 on the farm of Thomas Grimes.
It could be a parent of the famous Golden Delicious apple, and is known to be the maternal parent of 'Yellospur', and the pollen parent of 'Sinta'.
Henry Grimes (born November 3, 1935) is a jazz double bassist, violinist, and poet.
After more than a decade of activity and performance, notably as a leading bassist in free jazz, Grimes completely disappeared from the music scene by 1970. Grimes was often presumed dead, but he was rediscovered in 2002 and returned to performing.
Henry Grimes was born in Philadelphia. He took up the violin at the age of 12, then began playing tuba, English horn, percussion, and finally the double bass in high school. He furthered his musical studies at Juilliard and established a reputation as a versatile bassist by the mid-1950s. He recorded or performed with saxophonists Gerry Mulligan and Sonny Rollins, pianist Thelonious Monk, singer Anita O'Day, clarinetist Benny Goodman and many others. At a time when bassist Charles Mingus was experimenting with a second bass player in his band, Grimes was the person he selected for the job. One of his earliest appearances on film is captured in the Bert Stern documentary on the Newport Jazz Festival of 1958, Jazz on a Summer's Day. He was 22 years old, and as word spread among the musicians about his extraordinary playing, he ended up playing with six different groups in the festival that weekend: those of Benny Goodman, Lee Konitz, Thelonious Monk, Gerry Mulligan, Sonny Rollins, and Tony Scott. And though Henry’s name never even appeared in the festival’s printed program, “New York Times” critic Bosley Crowther took note of the remarkable young bassist and listed him as one of the festival’s primary players. Grimes may refer to:
"Never Have I Ever", also known as "I've Never…" or "Ten Fingers", is a drinking game.
The verbal game is started with the players getting into a circle. Then, the first player says a simple statement starting with "Never have I ever". Anyone who has done what the first player has not must drink. Play then continues around the circle, and the next person makes a statement. An additional rule – uncommon, but beneficial to the game –is that if there is no one taking a drink, then the one who said the particular "I have never…" must take a drink. This rule often forces the players to strategize more and makes for less disposable/pointless suggestions.
A further variation holds that whenever only one person is drinking, that person must give a detailed account of why they are drinking. Another variation of this game involves putting up five or ten fingers, putting one down whenever something mentioned has been done. Those who end up putting down all of their fingers must take several successive drinks.

Well, the first six trees went in today. Please pardon the goofy netting, but the black flies were really bad, and there is no better protection. I'd inhaled a few already during the day, and I didn't want to do it on camera... I'm concerned that the trees were too dry, so I watered the rest of the pots and will plant the rest of the trees tomorrow. We're getting morning frost, and expecting rain on Monday, so there is precious little time left.
