Two villages on either side of a river are always feuding as the headmen (Vinu Chakravarthy and FEFSI Vijayan) have personal enmity. Due to some misunderstanding, Vijayan's children die and the blame falls on Vinu Chakravarthy. Vijayan seeks revenge and tries tries to kill Vinu's son but is saved by his servants son but the boy disappears.
20 years later Shiva (Arjun) is seen arriving in Kumbakonam living with a bakery owner Veerababu (Vadivelu). Shiva's mission is to protect Devayani and her son from all sorts of gangsters. Priya (Reema Sen) walks into the bakery. Though she dislikes and torments Veerabhagu, she falls for Shiva. Sooner, the true identity of Shiva is revealed as he saves Devayani and her son from being murdered by FEFSI Vijayan's son.
When questioned about his identity it is revealed in flashback that Shiva is Giri, the hatchet man of Vinu Chakravarthy. Devayani's husband Suryaprakash (Prakash Raj) is actually the long lost son of Vinu and he was killed by FEFSI Vijayan. To protect the rest of the family, Giri was sent to bring them back to the village. In the village Giri has another love interest, Devaki (Ramya) the niece of Vijayan.
All this leads to a bloody climax during a boat race and Vijayan and his family are wiped out by Giri. And the film ends with both the girls cling on to Giri.

Giri Full Length Movie Description : Giri's story is as old as the sky. It is about two landlords of two villages and their internecine quarrels. FEFSI Vijayan and Vinu Chakravarthy, the duo, cannot see eye to eye on anything and their vision is also full of villainy for the other. n one of the fights, Vijayan's sons are slain and he vows to do the same to Vinu Chakravarthy's son. But the latter packs off his younger son to an unknown place --- nobody knows where he ends up.So Vijayan is always on the look out for the missing son of his rival. In the meanwhile, Vinu Chakravarthy's family is helped out by the son of one of his servants. Needless to say, the servant's son, Arjun, is loyal and goes to any length to save the family. Adding intrigue to the script, the run-away son returns after 20 years as Prakash Raj, the honest police official with a mission --- to unite the warring groups of the village. However, his plans come unstuck as the revenge-seeking Vijayan finishes him off. Before he dies, Prakash Raj seeks out Arjun and urges him to save his son and wife (Deivayani) livingin Chennai.The rest of the story is all about how Arjun keeps his vow to Prakash Raj.

In the village Giri has another love interest, Devaki (Ramya) the niece of Vijayan.
All this leads to a bloody climax during a boat race and Vijayan and his family are wiped out by Giri. And the film ends with Giri committing bigamy as both girls cling on to him!

Her mother (Lilette Dubey) strongly disapproves of Jai, and vehemently, though in vain, opposes the marriage. To make matters worse, Jai gets a job in the U.S. in a vehicle junkyard, much to the horror of his wife and his family. Jai must use this junkyard so that he can make the fastest car in the world. Jagdish is the spoiled brat of the family. He gets into trouble with the law, when he starts hacking computer data. This brings shame on the entire family, and causes a loss of goodwill and profits, and results in the takeover of the estate by Shekhar Malhota, a close friend of the family. Now all the three brothers, their respective wives, and Mrs. Batra herself will have to come together to try and salvage what they can of their family business and estate. That is if they find time to do so from their very own personal problems and commitments.

Ashoke weds her and brings her to Magadha, only to be told by his father that since Devi is not of the same race as he, she cannot be welcomed. Ashoke leaves with Devi and lives in Ujjaini. Soon Devi gets pregnant, and this arouses jealously and hatred amongst Ashoke's step-brothers. As a result they plot to kill Devi, however, their plans are foiled by Ashoke's mother, who is killed. Ashoke swears to avenge his mother's death by killing his step-brothers one by one, except for one, who has led to Kalinga. Ashoke asks the ruler of Kalings to turn over his step-brother to him, and they refuse. Ashoke swears to raze Kalinga to the ground. Ashoke is unstoppable. Even his close friend, Virat (Danny Denzongpa), too, is unable to stop Ashoke. Ashoke proceeds to war, little knowing that the queen of Kalinga is none other than Kaurwaki, who is still alive.

20 years later Shiva (Arjun) is seen arriving in Kumbakonam living with a bakery owner Veerababu (Vadivelu). Shiva's mission is to protect Devayani and her son from all sorts of gangsters. Priya (Reema Sen) walks into the bakery. Though she dislikes and torments Veerabhagu, she falls for Shiva. Sooner, the true identity of Shiva is revealed as he saves Devayani and her son from being murdered by FEFSI Vijayan's son.
When questioned about his identity it is revealed in flashback that Shiva is Giri, the hatchet man of Vinu Chakravarthy. Devayani's husband Suryaprakash (Prakash Raj) is actually the long lost son of Vinu and he was killed by FEFSI Vijayan. To protect the rest of the family, Giri was sent to bring them back to the village. In the village Giri has another love interest, Devaki (Ramya) the niece of Vijayan.
All this leads to a bloody climax during a boat race and Vijayan and his family are wiped out by Giri. And the film ends with both the girls cling on to Giri.

Giri Full Length Movie Description : Giri's story is as old as the sky. It is about two landlords of two villages and their internecine quarrels. FEFSI Vijayan and Vinu Chakravarthy, the duo, cannot see eye to eye on anything and their vision is also full of villainy for the other. n one of the fights, Vijayan's sons are slain and he vows to do the same to Vinu Chakravarthy's son. But the latter packs off his younger son to an unknown place --- nobody knows where he ends up.So Vijayan is always on the look out for the missing son of his rival. In the meanwhile, Vinu Chakravarthy's family is helped out by the son of one of his servants. Needless to say, the servant's son, Arjun, is loyal and goes to any length to save the family. Adding intrigue to the script, the run-away son returns after 20 years as Prakash Raj, the honest police official with a mission --- to unite the warring groups of the village. However, his plans come unstuck as the revenge-seeking Vijayan finishes him off. Before he dies, Prakash Raj seeks out Arjun and urges him to save his son and wife (Deivayani) livingin Chennai.The rest of the story is all about how Arjun keeps his vow to Prakash Raj.

The story is hackneyed as they come. Two villages on either side of a river (picturesque locations of Kuttanad in Kerala passed off as Tamilnadu) are always feuding as the headmen (Vinu Chakravarthy and Fefsi Vijayan) have personal enemity. Due to some misunderstanding, Vijayan's children die and the blame falls on Vinu Chakravarthy. Vijayan seeks revenge and tries tries to kill Vinu's son but is saved by his servants son but the boy disappears.
20 years later Shiva (Arjun) is shown in a city living with a bakery owner (Vadivelu). Shiva's mission is to protect Devayani and her son from all sorts of gangsters. Priya (Reema Sen) walks into the bakery and falls in love with our macho hero! Just before interval, the true identity of Shiva is known as he saves Devayani and her son from being murdered by Fefsi Vijayan's son.
In a flashback it is revealed that Shiva is Giri, the hatchet man of Vinu Chakravarthy. Devayani's husband Suryaprakash (Prakash Raj) is actually the long lost son of Vinu and he was killed by Vijayan. To protect the family that Giri was sent to bring them back to the village. In the village Giri has another love interest, Devaki (Ramya) the niece of Vijayan.
All this leads to a bloody climax during a boat race and Vijayan and his family are wiped out by Giri. And the film ends with Giri committing bigamy as both girls cling on to him!
