An 18th-century French salon gift of Baron Edmond and Baroness Nadine de Rothschild, Paris.
This grand salon conveys the Rococo elegance of the eighteenth century through its decor, furnishings, and objets d’art. It belonged to a second-generation member of the new aristocracy, the Count de Coubert, Jacques-Samuel Bernard and was part of his Paris townhouse on rue de Bac, designed by François Debias-Aubry between 1741 and 1745. In the 1880s the salon came into the possession of the first Baron Edmond de Rothschild, known in Zionist history as HaNadiv (The Benefactor).
Over the doors in the four corners are allegorical depictions of Europe, Asia, Africa, and America, while two Gobelin tapestries depict mythological scenes from a series titled “Love of the Gods” made for Louis XV. Portraits by Jacques Aved and by Jean-Marc Nattier and a marble statue by Guillaume Coustou exemplify the mythological-allegorical tendencies of the period. Three large mirrors reflect the candlelit candelabras and appear to enlarge the room, adding to the atmosphere of opulence and splendour.
Designed by the Japanese-American sculptor Isamu Noguchi, the Art Garden lies on the western slope of the Museums campus. It is divided into wide, crescent-shaped sections arching upward and supported by high walls made of rough fieldstone. As in a Japanese Zen garden, the ground is covered in gravel, and paths lined with local plants and trees connect the different sections. A multitude of materials were incorporated into the gardens design: stones of different kinds and sizes, exposed concrete, and water. Walls enclose smaller spaces and rectilinear terraces of the garden, echoing the shapes of the Museums buildings.

This model was built at the initiative of Hans Kroch, owner of the Holyland Hotel, in memory of his son Jacob, who fell in Israel's War of Independence. The model was produced under the direction of Prof. Avi-Yonah of the Hebrew University of Jerusalem.
The reconstruction was based on three main sources of information: literary works, especially the books of Josephus, the Mishnah and Talmud, and the Gospels; ancient cities similar to Jerusalem; and archaeological discoveries in Jerusalem itself.

In 2000 I became a registered liscenced tourist guide.
My dedication in life is to pass on the ancient history of the Holy Land.
Following upon many years of travel around the world, which was highlighted by a very exciting emotional and soul-searching meeting with the Dalai Lama, I realized that I had a mission. To pass on the the history of the Holy Land, its religions, and in particular, the birth and development of Christianity.
In order to fulfill this "calling" in the best way possible, I studied in depth, visited, and personally experienced each and every important site of the ancient Christians. I studied for and received my first bachelors degree in the ancient history of the Holy Land, and am presently completing my studies for my second degree.(Masters)
Parralel to my studies, and in order to earn a living, I was employed for many years in advertising. What I learned there was how to attract the publics attention, generate and, increase interest, and assimilate information. All this I use as tools to describe, explain and deepen the interest in the sites that we visit. From my experience, I have learned that in this way, the Holy Land becomes more than just history, and that the large stones that we see scattered about in dissaray, join together one by one until they become - a Byzantine Church. This also happens when I lead a group of Pilgrims in the Steps of Jesus. We climb to the peak of Mount Precipice, "glide" over the land to the Sea of Galilee, land on the water and "see" the miracle which enfolds before us. This is a many faceted experience. Not only history which you will remember and cherish, but an experience which I hope will be inplanted in your hearts and minds, and will accompany you all the days of your life.

Israel Museum
The Israel Museum (Hebrew: מוזיאון ישראל, Muze'on Yisrael) was founded in 1965 as Israel's national museum. It is situated on a hill in the Givat Ram neighborhood of Jerusalem, near the Bible Lands Museum, the Knesset, the Israeli Supreme Court, and the Hebrew University of Jerusalem.
Among the unique objects on display is the Venus of Berekhat Ram a carved female figurine considered the oldest artwork in the world; the interior of a 1736 Zedek ve Shalom synagogue from Suriname; necklaces worn by Jewish brides in Yemen; a mosaic Islamic prayer niche from 17th-century Persia; and a nail attesting to the practice of crucifixion in Jesus’ time. An urn-shaped building on the grounds of the museum, the Shrine of the Book, houses the Dead Sea Scrolls and artifacts discovered at Masada.
History
Jerusalem mayor Teddy Kollek was the driving spirit behind the establishment of the Israel Museum, one of the leading art and archaeology museums in the world. The Museum houses works dating from prehistory to the present day in its Archaeology, Fine Arts, and Jewish Art and Life Wings, and features extensive holdings of biblical and Land of Israel archaeology. Since its establishment in 1965, the Museum has built up a collection of nearly 500,000 objects, representing a broad sample of world material culture.

This model was built at the initiative of Hans Kroch, owner of the Holyland Hotel, in memory of his son Jacob, who fell in Israel's War of Independence. The model was produced under the direction of Prof. Avi-Yonah of the Hebrew University of Jerusalem.
The reconstruction was based on three main sources of information: literary works, especially the books of Josephus, the Mishnah and Talmud, and the Gospels; ancient cities similar to Jerusalem; and archaeological discoveries in Jerusalem itself.

My name is Zahi Shaked
In 2000 I became a registered liscenced tourist guide.
My dedication in life is to pass on the ancient history of the Holy Land.
Following upon many years of travel around the world, which was highlighted by a very exciting emotional and soul-searching meeting with the Dalai Lama, I realized that I had a mission. To pass on the the history of the Holy Land, its religions, and in particular, the birth and development of Christianity.
In order to fulfill this "calling" in the best way possible, I studied in depth, visited, and personally experienced each and every important site of the ancient Christians. I studied for and received my first bachelors degree in the ancient history of the Holy Land, and am presently completing my studies for my second degree.(Masters)
Parralel to my studies, and in order to earn a living, I was employed for many years in advertising. What I learned there was how to attract the publics attention, generate and, increase interest, and assimilate information. All this I use as tools to describe, explain and deepen the interest in the sites that we visit. From my experience, I have learned that in this way, the Holy Land becomes more than just history, and that the large stones that we see scattered about in dissaray, join together one by one until they become - a Byzantine Church. This also happens when I lead a group of Pilgrims in the Steps of Jesus. We climb to the peak of Mount Precipice, "glide" over the land to the Sea of Galilee, land on the water and "see" the miracle which enfolds before us. This is a many faceted experience. Not only history which you will remember and cherish, but an experience which I hope will be inplanted in your hearts and minds, and will accompany you all the days of your life.

耶穌時代(第二時期聖殿)的耶路撒冷模型。公元66年，耶路撒冷爆發大起義，城市和聖殿在抗爭中被羅馬人所毀。占地近一英畝的耶路撒冷模型將公元66年的耶路撒冷重現出來，展示了古城高峰期的樣式並將其真實呈現在大眾面前。該模型的比例是1：50，主要的建築材料是石灰右（又名耶路撒冷石），自古至今耶路撒冷的建築物都是由這種石材建造而成。1966年，第二聖殿時期的耶路撒冷模型正式落成。
在籌備興建模型之初，考古資料有限，但隨著在耶路撒冷的發掘，考古學家日益加深了對古城的理解，從而令到模型有進一步發展，此模型不是為了展示考古的準確性，而是希望重現一世紀耶路撒冷的樣式，透過其建築規模及地形的分佈，將以色列歷史中最重要的時期呈現出來。
博物館內著名的比利羅斯藝術花園由日裔美國人雕塑家野口勇（Isamu Noguchi）設計，藝術花園被喻為二十世紀中一座舉世矚目的雕塑花園。現代化的設計把藝術花園融合在古耶路撒冷山坡的東方美景中，展示了現代西方雕塑與傳統結合的美，園內收集了多位國際著名雕塑家的作品。

On the one hand we are celebrating the life of the public Edgar, and on the other hand - it is the life of my father," said Matthew Bronfman, Edgar's son. "There was an Edgar that loved such events and has been always into it, and there was another Edgar, home Edgar with a huge family. At the last days of his life it was really important for him that we will stand together. My Father was far from being perfect. But he was, he is and he always will be my hero."
Speaker of the Knesset, Yuli Edelstein, a Prisoner of Zion from 1984-1987 who made Aliyah immediately upon his release from Soviet prison, also spoke at the event and said, "For me it was not only about Edgar Bronfman and his contribution to the Soviet Jewry, it was Edgar Bronfman and many 'yuli edelshtein's' all over the world; Personal stories that connected to his work and his devotion."
The evening was organized by Limmud FSU (Matthew Bronfman, Edgar's son, serves as its Chairman), Hillel Israel, and the Bronfman Fellowship. These three organizations are recognized as major recipients of the Bronfman family philanthropic efforts. The event was sponsored by the Samuel Bronfman Foundation in New York, Discount Bank, and Ikea Israel.
