Want to have your video HD and widescreen? Make sure your output is 720p, i.e. 1280x720. You're also going to want to compress it so you aren't uploading a huge file - use h.264 at 1500-2500 kbps.

Volume 8 was already in HD, but now it's in proper widescreen. Only 3 shorts were stretched due to Toon Boom & Flash having limits, the rest are in a proper aspect ratio. We also fixed a few animation bugs.
The volume took awhile to make compared to the other entries. Some of these shorts were actually meant for volume 6 but due to flash constraints we had to move them to 8; so you may have seen 1 or 2 shorts already via one of our animators webpages. I would like to thank all the animators, voice actors, and musicians for doing a splendid job on their parts. Each short turned out great.
We are looking for animators who would like to join in the Sega Shorts Collab. Check out the Sonic Paradox website if you want to join! The Sonic Shorts series isn't over yet but we'll be taking a long break from it. Besides you'll see some Sonic shorts in Sega Shorts so its not like they are not going to be around. :)

Widescreen images are a variety of aspect ratios used in film, television and computer screens. In film, a widescreen film is any film image with a width-to-height aspect ratio greater than the standard 1.37:1 Academy aspect ratio provided by 35mm film.
For television, the original screen ratio for broadcasts was 4:3 (1.33:1). In the 2000s, 16:9 (1.78:1) TV displays came into wide use. They are typically used in conjunction with high-definition television (HDTV) receivers, or Standard-Definition (SD) DVD players and other digital television sources.
With computer displays, aspect ratios wider than 4:3 are also called widescreen. Widescreen computer displays were previously typically of 16:10 aspect ratio, now they are shifting to 16:9.
Widescreen was first used in the film of The Corbett-Fitzsimmons Fight in 1897. This was not only the longest film that had been released to date at 100 minutes, it was also the first widescreen film being shot on 63 mm Eastman stock with 5 perforations per frame.

Volume 8 was already in HD, but now it's in proper widescreen. Only 3 shorts were stretched due to Toon Boom & Flash having limits, the rest are in a proper aspect ratio. We also fixed a few animation bugs. The volume took awhile to make compared to the other entries. Some of these shorts were actually meant for volume 6 but due to flash constraints we had to move them to 8; so you may have seen 1 or 2 shorts already via one of our animators webpages. I would like to thank all the animators, voice actors, and musicians for doing a splendid job on their parts. Each short turned out great. We're still torn on the issue of screen ratio - the iPad mini 2 follows Apple's tablet strategy of keeping the 4.3 screen, which is the same as seen on TVs before widescreen came in. This means that video needs the black bars above and below - and sounds horribly last-generation when you consider that most other tablets (the Nexus 7 being the most popular) are in 16.9 widescreen ... ....
