Alcyone for symphony orchestra is a ballet composed by Rok Golob. It was performed by Slovenian Philharmonic Orchestra & conducted by Marko Letonja. Alkiona za simfonični orkester je balet, ki ga je napisal komponist Rok Golob. Izvedel ga je Orkester Slovenske Filharmonije pod taktirko Marka Letonje. ALCYONE According to the ancient Greek legend, Alcyone, the daughter of the god of winds, married Ceux, the son of Venus. Their happiness was so complete that they even dared to compare themselves with Zeus and Hera, thus incurring the vengeance of the gods. They were changed into birds, and their nests on the waterfront were constantly ravaged by the waves. However, Zeus turned merciful by calming the sea waters for seven days twice a year. In this way, Alcyone became the symbol of peace and tranquility. Unfortunately, this peace, being rather short-lived, has to be immediately taken advantage of. ALKIONA Po grški legendi se je Alkiona, hči boga vetrov, poročila s Keiksom, sinom Danice. Njuna sreča je bila tako popolna, da sta se primerjala z Zevsom in Hero, s tem pa sta si nakopala maščevanje bogov. Spremenili so ju v ptici in njuna gnezda ob vodi so nenehno uničevali valovi. Toda Zevs je postal usmiljen in dvakrat v letu je za sedem dni umiril morske vode. Tako je Alkiona postala simbol miru in spokojnosti. Vendar je ta mir kratkotrajen in ga je potrebno takoj izrabiti.
