The Macomb Area Conference (formerly known as the Macomb Athletic Conference) is a high school sports league located in Southeastern Michigan. It is a member of the Michigan High School Athletic Association (MHSAA). There are currently 35 members, spread across St. Clair County, Macomb County, Oakland County, and Wayne County.
The MAC offers sports for both boys and girls, including boys and girls cross country, boys football, boys and girls basketball, boys baseball, and girls softball, boys and girls soccer, boys and girls swimming, girls volleyball, boys and girls track and field, wrestling, and boys hockey.
The MAC was formed in 1986, and began competition in September 1987. The 17 charter member schools included ten from the Macomb Conference, five from the Bi-county League, and two from the Eastern Michigan league.
Brablec was closed and merged with Roseville High School in 1988.
First Expansion
In 1988 the remaining schools in the Eastern Michigan League joined the MAC.
