Jan. 21 -- Starting in 1908, Henry Ford sold his novel Model T cars as the first to be really accessible to the masses. What's more, he marketed them as easy to handle for casual drivers and (gasp!) women since they started with a button rather than a crank. Thing is, those old Model Ts were still pretty complicated to drive. Bloomberg Pursuits' Hannah Elliott took a 1914 Model T for a spin but first she needed a driving lesson. "I MADE A MISTAKE!"
55psi only applies to clincher tyres on earlier Model T's. Since mine is a 1925 model and has split rims and balloon tyres, the correct tyre pressure is 35psi.

I imported my 1925 Ford Model T from the USA, not far from Detroit, Michigan where it was built.
In this video I demonstrate the T's unusual controls and how they all work, I show you how to start a Model T, and I take you on a short drive at the end.
The Model T was manufactured between 1908 and 1927, and was know by various names including Tin Lizzie, Flivver, T‑Model Ford, or just 'T'.
The Model T set 1908 as the historic year that the automobile became popular. It is generally regarded as the first affordable automobile, the car that opened travel to the common middle-class American; some of this was because of Ford's innovations, including assembly line production instead of individual hand crafting.
On May 26, 1927, Henry Ford watched the 15 millionth Model T Ford roll off the assembly line at his factory in Highland Park, Michigan.

A video I produced to celebrate my Dad's birthday this year, he would have been 88.
He always enjoyed demonstrating the vintage iron in action. I am not quite the showman that he was but I am trying to carry on the tradition, using the skills I learned from a man that actually lived it, taught to me as an ordinary, everyday way of life.
I hope you enjoy the video!
Using a 1925 Model T Ford to haul firewood. The firewood is cut to length on a wood saw, or buzz saw, powered with a 1924 Model T Ford engine.
My Dad built the model T from parts and pieces that he had in 1950 and used it as his hunting truck for many years. In the early 1970's we decided it should be a "restored" car. My Dad's friend Ken, my Dad, and myself, changed things back to period correct, including wheels, top & upholstery, and new paint.

Jay Leno
James Douglas Muir "Jay" Leno (/ˈlɛnoʊ/; born April 28, 1950) is an American comedian, actor, writer, producer, voice actor, and television host. He was the host of NBC's The Tonight Show with Jay Leno from 1992 to 2009. Beginning in September 2009, Leno started a primetime talk show, titled The Jay Leno Show, which aired weeknights at 10:00 p.m. ET, also on NBC.
After The Jay Leno Show was canceled in January 2010 amid a host controversy, Leno returned to host The Tonight Show with Jay Leno on March 1, 2010. He hosted his last episode of The Tonight Show on February 6, 2014. That year, he was inducted into the Television Hall of Fame.
Early life
Leno was born in New Rochelle, New York. His homemaker mother, Catherine (née Muir; 1911–1993), was born in Greenock, Scotland, and came to the United States at age 11. His father, Angelo (1910–1994), was an insurance salesman who was born in New York, to immigrants from Flumeri, Italy. Leno grew up in Andover, Massachusetts, and obtained a bachelor's degree in speech therapy from Emerson College, where he started a comedy club in 1973. His older brother, Patrick (May 12, 1940 – October 6, 2002), was a Vietnam War veteran who worked as an attorney.

Henry Ford
Henry Ford (July 30, 1863 – April 7, 1947) was an American industrialist, the founder of the Ford Motor Company, and the sponsor of the development of the assembly line technique of mass production.
Although Ford did not invent the automobile or the assembly line, he developed and manufactured the first automobile that many middle class Americans could afford. In doing so, Ford converted the automobile from an expensive curiosity into a practical conveyance that would profoundly impact the landscape of the twentieth century. His introduction of the Model T automobile revolutionized transportation and American industry. As the owner of the Ford Motor Company, he became one of the richest and best-known people in the world. He is credited with "Fordism": mass production of inexpensive goods coupled with high wages for workers. Ford had a global vision, with consumerism as the key to peace. His intense commitment to systematically lowering costs resulted in many technical and business innovations, including a franchise system that put dealerships throughout most of North America and in major cities on six continents. Ford left most of his vast wealth to the Ford Foundation and arranged for his family to control the company permanently.

55psi only applies to clincher tyres on earlier Model T's. Since mine is a 1925 model and has split rims and balloon tyres, the correct tyre pressure is 35psi.

In this video I demonstrate the T's unusual controls and how they all work, I show you how to start a Model T, and I take you on a short drive at the end.

He always enjoyed demonstrating the vintage iron in action. I am not quite the showman that he was but I am trying to carry on the tradition, using the skills I learned from a man that actually lived it, taught to me as an ordinary, everyday way of life.

Using a 1925 Model T Ford to haul firewood. The firewood is cut to length on a wood saw, or buzz saw, powered with a 1924 Model T Ford engine.
My Dad built the model T from parts and pieces that he had in 1950 and used it as his hunting truck for many years. In the early 1970's we decided it should be a "restored" car. My Dad's friend Ken, my Dad, and myself, changed things back to period correct, including wheels, top & upholstery, and new paint.

Unfortunately no longer registered so we can not take it out on the road for a drive. This 1920 Ford Model T Truck is a great example of an older restoration & needs to go to a good home where it will not sit.
