You guys have waited quite some time to see the
Midway City Sanitary District's brand new
CNG fleet of
CCC LET2 - Heil
Rapid Rails in action. And here we have samples of each one of them, with the exceptions of NG-1, NG-3 and NG-10. The fleet of oldies was quickly replaced in
Summer 2015, of course beginning with
T-56 &
T-59; those were the first two trucks they got rid of for obvious reasons. According to local online articles, and members of the
District's board of directors, the new CNG station & trucks were purchased & built without raising sewer & trash collection rates for their customers. And that the District does not plan to make an increase in the future due to this project.
After that, the rest of them all went except for one:
T-65.
Bobby's old truck currently used as a spare, but eventually it will be gone within the next couple of years. Other than not being able to revv suring the dump cycles, all of the drivers are happy with their trucks. Since the last of the old trucks were replaced, some drivers moved around.
NG-1, NG-2 were originally planned to be used as spares, along with NG-8.
Carlos, however, still takes NG-2 out 99% of the time - meaning that a very unique and rare truck is still always available to film.
Jesús, who had NG-1, requested a newer truck because those have the 60/40 suspension that allows the back axle to turn a bit. This feature makes curves & key holes a breeze. So he now has
NG-4 -
Tomas's initial truck. Bobby now drives NG-5, instead of the now spare NG-10, and
Juan now uses NG-8 after originally being given NG-5.
Tomas moved to
Mexico sometime between
August & October 2015, and has been replaced by
Phillip in NG-9. In this video, he wasn't driving.
Instead it was
David:
MCSD's lead solid waste worker who drove
T-53 that I filmed nearly 4 years ago.
Overall, I am very happy with MCSD's decision to switch from the very common
Autocar to the not-so common CCC. I wouldn't have minded
Mack either, since the
Rapid Rail combination with them is also more rare.
Okay, essay is done lol.
Comment, rate, and remember:
Enjoy the show! Lets not forget to say thanks to the drivers for putting on a great show for you all.
