Endoscopic Sinus Venosus ASD( hole in the heart) closure.wmv
An ASD or atrial septal defect is a hole in the heart between the two collecting chambers called the atria. when this occurs high up near the SVC entrance into the right atrium it is called a sinus venosus defect and is a bit more complex than the usual ostium secundum defects. Endoscopic closure of these defects is a technically more challenging as one can narrow the svc if one is not careful.

Da Vinci Robot Repair of Heart Septal Defect
Minimally invasive repair of a Sinus Venosus ASD with Da Vinci Robot in a patient with anomalous left superior vena cava.
In this patient a rare form of ASD was repaired with the patient's pericardium.
Repair with the Da Vinci Robot allows for precise repair of intra-cardiac structures with the least possible amount of surgical trauma.
