What's in Lara Worthington's bathroom?

As a card-carrying member of the flawless skin club Lara Worthington gives us a peek into her beauty bag.

There's not much to write about the homegrown beauty that is Lara Worthington, you haven't read before. She's gorgeous (that skin, those eyes, where do we even begin?), has a covetable head of hair, and is clever, kind and wholly unaffected by her A-list life. (And yes, she is also mum to one of the world's cutest children, and wife to one very handsome Avatar.)

Worthington also happens to be great at sharing beauty tips. Like any good girlfriend, she's happy to share the stuff she's using and loving, and she absolutely knows what's good. We're mega-fans in every conceivable way, maybe even a little obsessed. (Let's just say that on receipt of the following interview, quite a few orders were placed for her go-to products...)

As we head into the chilly season, we thought it prudent to reach out to Worthington (card-carrying member of the flawless skin club) for a chat on everything from autumn skincare to her makeup essentials, and - excitingly - the complexion-boosting supplements she takes daily. Credit card ready?

Byrdie Australia: What does your autumn skincare routine look like?

Lara Worthington: At the moment I use; Tracie Martyn's Amla Purifying Cleanser ($97), Galderma's Actinica Liposomal SPF 50 + and The Base's LB Cream ($26) in Caramel. My autumn beauty essential is sunscreen. For the body I use Kiehl's' Creme De Corps, and Aesop's Geranium Leaf Body Cleanser ($25) which is my favourite body wash. When I was pregnant I got a lot of pigmentation so I have just started to use SkinMedica's Lytera Skin Brightening Complex ($198) every night. I also sleep with Cosmedix's Rescue Balm on my face and Results RX Eye Dr eye cream.

BA: Do you do treatment products at home or do you prefer a salon?

LW: When I am in Sydney I go for weekly facials with Melanie Grant. I have gentle peels, light therapy, microdermabrasion and hydration infusions. I miss Mel when I am away, she has taught me so much about skin.

In between facials I use Dior's Prestige Revitalizing Firming Sheet Masks ($220 for 6). It's a bit of a treat for my skin and super easy to use at home.

BA: How do you deal with breakouts? Any tips or tricks you can share?

LW: I use Mario Badescu's Drying Lotion, I simply dab the pink lotion on the spot with an ear bud. It speeds up the process and healing time.

BA: How do you maintain a healthy complexion whilst travelling?

LW: I love bathhouses (Russian, or Turkish - any bathhouse). They always equalise me, especially after a long-haul flight. I also use the Dior One Essential Serum ($157). It detoxifies my skin, which is essential when travelling as your skin gets sensitive with the air conditioning of planes and hotels, the pollution of some cities and changing temperatures.
