Shravan Maas comes in the fifth month of the Hindu calendar, starting late July and ending the third week of August. The star ‘Shravan‘ rules the sky during Purnima (full moon day) or during an entire month, hence, the month is known as Shravan Month or Maas (also known as Sawan month in North India). The legend says that when the churning of ocean by the Devas and Asuras – Samudra Manthan – done using the Mandhara mountain and Vasuki serpent as rope, in the Hindu month of Shravan, beginning tomorrow, fourteen different types of rubies came out. Thirteen of these were distributed among the demons, except Halahal ( a Hencedeadly poison). Lord Shiva drank the Halahal and stored it in his throat, which turned blue due to the effect of deadly poison. Hence,the name Neelkanth (meaning blue throat) is attributed to Shiva. To reduce the strong effect of poison, all the gods thereafter started offering the Ganges water to Lord Shiva to lessen the effect of poison.Since this happened in the month of Shravana, since then the Shiva devotees offer the Ganges water to Shivlingam in this month. The belief is that in Shravan month, offering the Ganges water to Lord Shiva pleases Him immensely. Mondays or Somvar of Shravan month are specially observed with austerity. Although all Mondays are devoted to the worship of Shiva as this day is sacred to Lord Shiva. No other Mondays of other months are so greatly honoured as of Shravan.
Basukinath Temple, Babadham (Baba Basukinath)
Basukinath is a religious place which is situated located in Dumka District of Jharkhand. It lies on the Deoghar – Dumka state highway and is around 25 km north-west of Dumka. Volvo Bus Services are available from Kolkatta to Jamshedpur & from Jamshedpur to Deoghar , The hindu person visit to baba basukinath after darshan of Baba Baidhyanath , Deoghar .
Stories Related to Basukinath
There is a belief related to Basukinath that during Sagar Manthan, Lord Shiva was pleased with the services of Nagraj Basuki and blessed him. It is said that this Shivlinga was established here by Nagraj Basuki. In ancient times, many cobras used to worship and perform milk bath to the Shivlinga during night time. When the people came to know about this then the Basukinath temple was built.
There is an another story related to Basukinath; a Sudra had a leprosy. He worshipped Shiva to cure his disease. Lord Shiva got pleased with his worship and came in his dreams and told him to invite the priest of Basukinath temple for a meal. This will cure your disease. The Sudra then took the message of Lord Shiva to the priest but he refused to come for the meal. Next day Lord Shiva told the priest that the Sudra is his devotee so accept his invitation and help him cure his disease.
The priest again refused which angered Lord Shiva and he cursed him of suffering from leprosy. This angered the priest and even he cursed him of facing thunderbolt. The curse of Lord Shiva caused him Leprosy and the priest’s curse caused Lord Shiva face thunderbolt which broke the Shivlinga. After this incident, the priest was very unhappy that due to his curse Lord Shiva had to bear pain. After this the priest accepted the invitation of the Sudra to have a meal in his house. The Queen of that place got the Shivlinga bound from silver.
Beliefs Related to Basukinath Dham
It is said that Basukinath temple is the court of Baba Bhole Nath. Bhole Nath listens to his devotees here so the devotees visiting Baidyanath Dham also visits Basukinath Dham. There is a belief that Bhole Nath does registration of Kanwariya in the Ajgaibinath temple situated in mid of the north flowing Ganga.
It is also said that this Ajgaibinath Mahadev provided bow to Janak which was broken by Lord Shri Ram and then married Sita. After offering Jal in Devghar, the cases of the devotees ge transferred in the court of Baba Basukinath and when the devotees reach and offer Jal there then their cases are heard and solved.
Basukinath Temple
In Basukinath Dham, Shiv and parvati temple are just in-front of each other. In the evening when gates of both the temples are opened then the devotees are suggested to move away from in-front of the gates as there is a belief that Lord Shiva and Mata Parvati meet each other at this time. Basukinath is one of the most ancient temples. There are many other small temples of different Gods and Goddesses also in the same compound. There is a pound near the temple which is called Van Ganga. The devotees first take bath here and then worship in the temple.

11 people have been killed and 20 injured in a stampede near a temple in Jharkhand's Deoghar, a town where similar incidents have taken place in 2012. The stampede took place early this morning close to a temple of Goddess Durga, where thousands had lined up for a ritual.
झारखंड के देवघर में मची भगदड़ में 11 कावंडियों की मौत हो गई और 50 से ज्यादा कांवड़िए घायल हो गए। भगदड़ बाबाधाम मंदिर से करीब दो किलोमीटर दूर बेलाबगान मंदिर के पास मची। सावन के महीने में पूरे 30 दिन बाबाधाम मंदिर में भगवान शिव को जल चढ़ाने के लिए झारखंड-बिहार सहित देश के कई राज्यों से हजारों भक्त कांवड़ लेकर आते हैं। सोमवार को भक्तों की संख्या लाखों में होती है। 2012 में भी यहां भगदड़ मची थी। जिसमें 9 लोगों की मौत हुई थी। वहीं 30 लोग घायल हो गए थे। उस समय भी हादसा सुबह 5.30 के करीब ही हुआ था।

Deoghar Town has two railway stations, Baidyanathdham (BDME) and Deoghar (DGHR). Deoghar is linked to Dumka while Baidyanathdham is linked only to Jasidih, though several trains originate from here to cities like Ranchi, Varanasi, Asansol.
Airways: Deoghar International Airport is under construction. Reaching Deoghar via flight is limited to Patna (PAT), Kolkata (CCU) or Ranchi (IXR). The nearest airport is Patna from where you can take a train journey or hire a taxi. Deoghar signed an MoU with Airports Authority of India in 2013 to develop an International Airport at Deoghar to encourage tourism. This is a Rs. 350 crore project which was supposed to be completed within 2 years. But for some reasons the project got delayed.

Basukinath is a religious place which is situated located in Dumka District of Jharkhand. It lies on the Deoghar – Dumka state highway and is around 25 km north-west of Dumka. Stories Related to Basukinath
There is a belief related to Basukinath that during Sagar Manthan, Lord Shiva was pleased with the services of Nagraj Basuki and blessed him. It is said that this Shivlinga was established here by Nagraj Basuki. In ancient times, many cobras used to worship and perform milk bath to the Shivlinga during night time. When the people came to know about this then the Basukinath temple was built.
There is an another story related to Basukinath; a Sudra had a leprosy. He worshipped Shiva to cure his disease. Lord Shiva got pleased with his worship and came in his dreams and told him to invite the priest of Basukinath temple for a meal. This will cure your disease. The Sudra then took the message of Lord Shiva to the priest but he refused to come for the meal. Next day Lord Shiva told the priest that the Sudra is his devotee so accept his invitation and help him cure his disease.
The priest again refused which angered Lord Shiva and he cursed him of suffering from leprosy. This angered the priest and even he cursed him of facing thunderbolt. The curse of Lord Shiva caused him Leprosy and the priest’s curse caused Lord Shiva face thunderbolt which broke the Shivlinga. After this incident, the priest was very unhappy that due to his curse Lord Shiva had to bear pain. After this the priest accepted the invitation of the Sudra to have a meal in his house. The Queen of that place got the Shivlinga bound from silver.
Beliefs Related to Basukinath Dham
It is said that Basukinath temple is the court of Baba Bhole Nath. Bhole Nath listens to his devotees here so the devotees visiting Baidyanath Dham also visits Basukinath Dham. There is a belief that Bhole Nath does registration of Kanwariya in the Ajgaibinath temple situated in mid of the north flowing Ganga.
It is also said that this Ajgaibinath Mahadev provided bow to Janak which was broken by Lord Shri Ram and then married Sita. After offering Jal in Devghar, the cases of the devotees ge transferred in the court of Baba Basukinath and when the devotees reach and offer Jal there then their cases are heard and solved.

In Basukinath Dham, Shiv and parvati temple are just in-front of each other. In the evening when gates of both the temples are opened then the devotees are suggested to move away from in-front of the gates as there is a belief that Lord Shiva and Mata Parvati meet each other at this time. Basukinath is one of the most ancient temples. There are many other small temples of different Gods and Goddesses also in the same compound. There is a pound near the temple which is called Van Ganga. The devotees first take bath here and then worship in the temple.

11 people have been killed and 20 injured in a stampede near a temple in Jharkhand's Deoghar, a town where similar incidents have taken place in 2012. The stampede took place early this morning close to a temple of Goddess Durga, where thousands had lined up for a ritual.
झारखंड के देवघर में मची भगदड़ में 11 कावंडियों की मौत हो गई और 50 से ज्यादा कांवड़िए घायल हो गए। भगदड़ बाबाधाम मंदिर से करीब दो किलोमीटर दूर बेलाबगान मंदिर के पास मची। सावन के महीने में पूरे 30 दिन बाबाधाम मंदिर में भगवान शिव को जल चढ़ाने के लिए झारखंड-बिहार सहित देश के कई राज्यों से हजारों भक्त कांवड़ लेकर आते हैं। सोमवार को भक्तों की संख्या लाखों में होती है। 2012 में भी यहां भगदड़ मची थी। जिसमें 9 लोगों की मौत हुई थी। वहीं 30 लोग घायल हो गए थे। उस समय भी हादसा सुबह 5.30 के करीब ही हुआ था।

Jonha Falls in very famous water falls in Ranchi. Jonha falls is on river Kanchi,falling from a massive height of 144ft, it's a beautiful waterfall. It has 3 main streams. It's situated at around 5km from the Jonha fall diversion on Ranchi to Silli Road,first comes Jonha Falls, in 5km,then on that way,Sita Falls is 3.5km more far from Jonha. If you have your own vehicle,you can first visit Jonha,then Sita falls,on the same way.
During rainy season,when Jonha becomes more furiours with water,Sita falls becomes more beautiful with the greenish plants around the hill.
