Mr. Sajjid Jamal Abro Deputy Commissioner, Jacobabad presided over the seminar and Mir Aijaz Hussain Jakhrani Ex-Federal Minsier honored the seminar as a Chief Guest.
Mr. Sajid Jamal Abro emphasized that this is for the 1st time the contribution of Gen. John Jacob are being celebrated in the history of 160 years, and vowed to establish a museum and restoring the monuments of English Era

Jacobabad
Jacobabad or Khangarh (Sindhi: جيڪب آباد) is a city in Sindh, Pakistan, serving as both the capital city of Jacobabad District and the administrative centre of Jacobabad Taluka, an administrative subdivision of the district. The city itself is subdivided into 8 Union Councils. Sitting close to the provincial boundaries of Sindh and Balochistan, Jacobabad was founded by General John Jacob in 1847 on the site of an existing village, and is crossed by the Pakistan Railway and many main roads of the province.
History
During British rule, as part of British Raj, the town was the administrative headquarters of the Upper Sind Frontier District of the Bombay Presidency; with a station on the Quetta branch of the North-Western Railway. It became well known for consistently having the highest temperature in South Asia, and has a mean summer average of 98°F (37°C).
The town was founded on the site of the village of Khangarh in 1847 by General John Jacob, for many years commandant of the Sind Horse, who died here in 1858. A memorial exists at the Victoria Tower in the heart of the city.

Rain and thunderstorms that lashed several cities in the upper parts of Pakistan and Punjab early on Tuesday claimed 13 lives, including seven in Lahore, breaking however the one-week spell of extremely hot weather in the country ...
