Wishful thinking ... To be fair, the chances of these predictions coming true are slim. Like, really slim. Still, these are the kind of things we hold out for in our heart of hearts ... The company's total heel turn over the last few years has been well documented, from tales of mismanagement to inexplicably threatening legal action against MGSV's auteur Hideo Kojima so he wouldn't accept an award given for his own game ... This isn't a typo ... ....

MGSV was being fucked with by Konami, and involved a brand new engine being developed. You wanna talk about costs? Creating a new engine for cutting edge AAA is expensive as fuck. Meanwhile id is using another iteration of idtech. Potentially costly, but not as much as building it from the ground-up ... Do you have reading comprehension issues? ... Serious Sam is not an entirely different game ... Same goes for Painkiller ... ....

2015 was a pretty great year all around for the Xbox One. There were a lot of really good games released this year, and unlike years past where I struggled to find ten worthy games for this list, there were easily 20-25 titles that could have made it in 2015 ... I really rated MGSV when it was released in September, and it already ranks as one of my favourite games of all time ... The key twist in MGSV's epilogue was pre-empted by fans months before release ... Like a lot of observers I was onto this from the start of MGSV's story ... Raiden's path in Sons of Liberty was a smart comment on the player’s role, but MGSV's twist is much more disturbing and effective for me....
