Welcome to some more Star Citizen, I just wanted to go over the new System Star Citizen is using for Hardpoint Sizing & mounting of weapons as of the Drake Buccaneer Concept Sale:
Only some ships are using the new system at the moment and others need to be updated & refactored. Don’t look at a Size 5 mount and think you can mount 2 Size 4 weapons there just yet. The Buccaneer and SH are for sure and I would expect most of the smaller ships to already be on this system.
The New system actually really simple
A Weapon Hardpoint has a Size
You can have a fixed weapon upto the maximum size of the hardpoint
OR Reduce the Hardpoints Size by 1 for each modifier:
Gimbaled/Unmanned Turret = 1
Manned Turret = 1
Twin-Linked = 1
Size of the largest weapon you want to use = X (X is it’s Size)
So the Canard Turret on a Super Hornet is a Size 3 Mount
Size 1 Weapon = 1
Gimbaled = 1
Twin-Linked = 1
Total Size = 3
“Yes it houses 2 weapons BUT in the new Hardpoint system that is accounted for, you just have to add +1 for it being twin linked you don’t have to add the size of the weapon again”
So the mount is using 2 size 1 weapons.

The Streamlight ProTac Rail Mount Flashlights are finally showing up for sale after releasing them at SHOT Show 2016. I was very interested in these the moment I saw them and once I received one my first impressions were validated in spades! Streamlight did more then a few things right on these
Firstly they went with a Duel Fuel system allowing both a single CR123 or a AA battery this will be a very attractive option for those whom haven't joined the 21st century of battery technology and will only use common batteries in their gear, for me this is more of a practical advantage.
Second they went with a removable mounting system that can use ANY of the mounting solutions for a SureFire Scout series light. This is awesome as theres already a vast selection of options out there and allows people that already have them to not have to buy something propitiatory.
Thirdly they include a well thought out remote switch and mounting gear. Personal preference is the name of the game with momentary and constant one functions on a weapon mounted light (I realize theres a tactical advantage to momentary use) and this pressure switch has both, again generating a lot of value in this sub $100 price tag. And thats the fourth thing, $99! thats right, under $100 and only $109 for the 625 lumen version, I will also toss in that Ive had extremely good customer service from Streamlight, Im in now way saying they're as good as a Scout light but I dont know about you but ive got several rifles systems and I cant afford more then one high end piece of gear but want all my rifles setup to be ready to go in a pinch.
Theres an IMPORTANT annotation at the 4:45 mark in the video. Theres a small issue, for me its not a deal breaker as if yet, but the light flicks off for a milli-second even if I just dry fire my AR. Streamlight will take care of it and i'll let you know the response.

table top review of the nitecore p12 flashlight that I got for Christmas. This is a little big for EDC carry, however is a fantastic light with many great tactical features that make it great for a ar15 or other rifle. It has 4 light modes with the cree led and also has a strobe, sos, and location beacon mode.

Weapon mount
A weapon mount is a weapon component used to affix an armament for stabilization. Weapon mounts can be broken down into two categories: static mounts and non-static mounts.
Static mount
A static mount is a non-portable weapon support component used on a self-propelled vehicle.
Turret
A gun turret protects the crew or mechanism of a weapon and at the same time lets the weapon be aimed and fired in many directions.
A turret is a rotating weapon platform. This can be mounted on a fortified building or structure such as an anti-naval land battery, or on an armoured fighting vehicle, a naval ship, or a military aircraft.
Turrets may be armed with one or more machine guns, automatic cannons, large-calibre guns, missile launchers, and recently Microwave Weapons/Deterrents and Laser Weapon Systems. It may be manned or remotely controlled, and is often armoured. A small turret, or sub-turret on a larger one, is called a cupola. The term cupola also describes rotating turrets that carry no weapons but instead are sighting devices, as in the case of tank commanders. A finial is an extremely small sub-turret or sub-sub-turret mounted on a cupola turret.

Welcome to some more Star Citizen, I just wanted to go over the new System Star Citizen is using for Hardpoint Sizing & mounting of weapons as of the Drake Buccaneer Concept Sale:
Only some ships are using the new system at the moment and others need to be updated & refactored. Don’t look at a Size 5 mount and think you can mount 2 Size 4 weapons there just yet. The Buccaneer and SH are for sure and I would expect most of the smaller ships to already be on this system.
The New system actually really simple
A Weapon Hardpoint has a Size
You can have a fixed weapon upto the maximum size of the hardpoint
OR Reduce the Hardpoints Size by 1 for each modifier:
Gimbaled/Unmanned Turret = 1
Manned Turret = 1
Twin-Linked = 1
Size of the largest weapon you want to use = X (X is it’s Size)
So the Canard Turret on a Super Hornet is a Size 3 Mount
Size 1 Weapon = 1
Gimbaled = 1
Twin-Linked = 1
Total Size = 3
“Yes it houses 2 weapons BUT in the new Hardpoint system that is accounted for, you just have to add +1 for it being twin linked you don’t have to add the size of the weapon again”
So the mount is using 2 size 1 weapons.

The Streamlight ProTac Rail Mount Flashlights are finally showing up for sale after releasing them at SHOT Show 2016. I was very interested in these the moment I saw them and once I received one my first impressions were validated in spades! Streamlight did more then a few things right on these
Firstly they went with a Duel Fuel system allowing both a single CR123 or a AA battery this will be a very attractive option for those whom haven't joined the 21st century of battery technology and will only use common batteries in their gear, for me this is more of a practical advantage.
Second they went with a removable mounting system that can use ANY of the mounting solutions for a SureFire Scout series light. This is awesome as theres already a vast selection of options out there and allows people that already have them to not have to buy something propitiatory.
Thirdly they include a well thought out remote switch and mounting gear. Personal preference is the name of the game with momentary and constant one functions on a weapon mounted light (I realize theres a tactical advantage to momentary use) and this pressure switch has both, again generating a lot of value in this sub $100 price tag. And thats the fourth thing, $99! thats right, under $100 and only $109 for the 625 lumen version, I will also toss in that Ive had extremely good customer service from Streamlight, Im in now way saying they're as good as a Scout light but I dont know about you but ive got several rifles systems and I cant afford more then one high end piece of gear but want all my rifles setup to be ready to go in a pinch.
Theres an IMPORTANT annotation at the 4:45 mark in the video. Theres a small issue, for me its not a deal breaker as if yet, but the light flicks off for a milli-second even if I just dry fire my AR. Streamlight will take care of it and i'll let you know the response.
