Yanchep National Park (WESTERN AUSTRALIA) is home to western grey KANGAROOS which can be seen in abundance early and late in the day. At other times they shelter from the sun so you might be lucky enough to see them resting in shady areas.
Stroll along the 240-metre KOALA boardwalk to view one of Australia’s favourite native animals in a natural environment and learn more about these fascinating creatures.
The park has nine walk trails designed to suit a variety of age groups, interests and fitness abilities. They range from short trails of 500m to challenging trails up to 46.2km. Each trail has been selected to showcase the unique biodiversity of the northern Swan Coastal Plain.
More than 400 caves have been recorded in the park, and there are many ways you can enjoy them. Crystal Cave, Adventure Caving, Cabaret Cave each offer contrasting experiences.

Surf Life Saving WA's Westpac Lifesaver Rescue Helicopter spied this sizable shark close to the shore and fairly close to swimmers at Club Capricorn Beach at Yanchep. After sighting the big fish, the crew sounded their shark alarm to get the swimmers out of the water quickly until the shark had moved on. Great work boys.

Yanchep is an outer coastal suburb of Perth, Western Australia, 56 kilometres (35 mi) north of Perth's central business district. It is part of the City of Wanneroo local government area. It was built by entrepreneur Alan Bond in the 1970s for the 1977 America's Cup. The area covers the urban centre of Yanchep as well as Yanchep National Park in its entirety.
Yanchep is bounded to the north-west by Two Rocks and to the south by the rural localities of Eglinton, Carabooda and Pinjar. The non-metropolitan Shires of Gingin and Chittering surround Yanchep's northern and eastern boundaries. West of Yanchep is the Indian Ocean.
Its boundaries as a suburb are extremely large, covering over 220 square kilometres (85 sq mi) and taking up almost the entire northern and north-eastern portion of the City of Wanneroo. Despite this, Yanchep's urban concentration is almost entirely located in a small enclave around Yanchep Beach Road, near the coast.
