How To Start Your Preparation For IBA (BBA & MBA)

Hello people, Welcome to #eSchool, an online platform of Brainwave Education. Today we will talk about 'How you will start your preparation for the IBA admission test.’ The entire duration of the preparation of IBA admission can be divided into 3 time frames: 1. Before HSC exam, 2. During admission period, i.e after the HSC exam, 3. Just 1/2 month before the IBA Admission. Now, if someone wanna starts before the HSC exam, he can start reading vocabulary because in IBA admission, the more you are enriched with vocabulary, the more comfortable you will feel in the exam hall and this will give you a competitive advantage. So as you have time, read a lot of vocabulary from Barron’s SAT. If you think you are weak in math, most of the time commerce students think like this, so this is your time to do some math and get ahead of others. In that case, solve the Saifur’s math book. Now the most important part is understanding English. If you know a lot of grammar or vocabulary, but can’t use them practically, then there is no benefit. So read English story book, magazine or newspaper regularly. And you can learn a lot of words and English grammar very easily by reading English magazines regularly. Now this is the main part i.e after HAC exam, how you will start your preparation. These are the books list and topics. First of all, from Barron's SAT read vocabulary, For vocabulary, if you think you are short on time, just read high frequency and hot prospect list. But remember, a high collection of vocabulary will make a difference for you and give you a competitive edge. So I suggest you to be brave and take an approach to memorize all the 3500 words. Then solve math, do sentence completion, read the English grammar part and do the practice test maintaining time. Just read these mentioned topics. In each practice test, there are 8 sections. Omit section 1, do only fill in the blank part of section 2 ,6 & 8, section 3, 4, 7, 9, & 10 full, remember to maintain time for any practice item. Practice without timing is meaningless. You can escape other topics given in the book. From official GMAT, reading comprehension, sentence correction, critical reasoning, data sufficiency, you can omit other topics. GRE big book, it’s really a big book, it has 27 practice tests. I suggest you to solve all these 27 tests. Solve the puzzles, completing sentences, synonym, antonym, critical reasoning, then you can read analogy, the smaller comprehension. There is a larger comprehension, you need not to solve these. Cliffs TOEFL is the grammar book. Start from the grammar review part, up to self practice test which is part 5 if this book. In practice test, you only need to solve section 2 full: structure and written expression, nothing else. But if you wish, you can solve the comprehensions from this book. We are done with English and analytical ability, now maths. In mathematical part, you have to read Saifur’s math, which is mainly arithmetic. if you think you need geometry practice, read Saifur’s geometry.Saifur’s math should be enough for your math preparations. But I recommend you to read the Math Q bank which is published by Mentors. its actually is the compilation of all the previous years’ question of both BBA and MBA exam. So that’s all about the intensive preparation outline for IBA admission. Now there are some students who just 1/2 month early decide to sit for the IBA admission. So in that case you have to first go through the previous years' questions to know what are there in the admission, then read cliffs TOEFL, from Barron’s SAT, read the high frequency and hot prospect word list, English grammar and math. Then read Saifur’s math, from GMAT review, read critical reasoning, sentence correction, and the passage, then solve puzzles from Saifur’s puzzle. This is a short syllabus for a short time.
