Buffy the Vampire Slayer is an American franchise which spans several media and genres. It began in 1992 with the film Buffy the Vampire Slayer, written by Joss Whedon and directed by Fran Rubel Kuzui, and was resurrected as the television series, Buffy the Vampire Slayer in 1997. The show's popularity caused it to spawn a multitude of Expanded Universe tie-in material such as comic books, novels, and video games, as well as a spin-off program entitled Angel. In 2007, four years after the television series' seventh and final season, Buffy the Vampire Slayer was officially continued in the comic book Season Eight. The following is a list of minor recurring characters who appear in the franchise.

Aluwyn

Amanda

Amanda is a Potential Slayer who appears in Season Seven, played by Sarah Hagan. A Sunnydale High student and member of the swing choir, she first appears in the episode "Help" as part of the seemingly-random stream of students showing up at Buffy's guidance office. Amanda was sent to Buffy for beating up another student who was picking on her. In the later episode "Potential", it is revealed that Amanda is in fact a Potential Slayer, and she aptly slays a vampire who threatens her and Dawn. Afterwards, Amanda moves into the Summers' residence, where she trains and becomes friends with her fellow Potentials. In the final episode of the show, "Chosen", Amanda is activated as a Slayer along with the other Potentials and battles against an army of Turok-Han vampires. She is last seen falling to the ground dead after her neck was snapped by a Turok-Han. She was the first Potential to kill a vampire and the first one to kill a Turok-Han.

Sweet (Ken Mellons album)

Sweet is the fourth studio album released by American country music artist Ken Mellons. Released in 2004, it contains the song "Paint Me a Birmingham", which was also recorded by Tracy Lawrence and released as a single. Mellons's rendition was also released shortly before Lawrence's. "Smack Dab" was previously recorded by George Jones on his 1998 album It Don't Get Any Better Than This.

Young (crater)

Young is a lunar crater that is located in the rugged southeast part of the Moon's near side. It lies to the east of the crater Metius, and southeast of Rheita. The long Vallis Rheita follows a line tangential to the southwest rim of Rheita, and cuts a wide trough through the southwest floor and outer rim of Young.

The surviving part of the crater is a worn, eroded formation that has seen better times. The rim and inner wall can still be followed across the surface, but it is indented and notched by smaller impacts. The inner floor contains a pair of small, bowl-shaped craters designated Young A and Young B.

To the south of Young, the valley is overlain by Young D, a somewhat less eroded feature than Young. The valley continues intermittently to the southeast, spanning a total distance of about 500 kilometers. This is the longest valley on the near side of the Moon.

Satellite craters

By convention these features are identified on lunar maps by placing the letter on the side of the crater midpoint that is closest to Young.

Young (Kenny Chesney song)

"Young" is a song written by Naoise Sheridan, Steve McEwan and Craig Wiseman, and recorded by American country music singer Kenny Chesney. It was released in December 2001 as the lead single from his album No Shoes, No Shirt, No Problems. It peaked at number 2 on the U.S. Billboard Hot Country Singles & Tracks chart and at number 35 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 chart.

Music video

The music video was Chesney's first of many videos that were by Shaun Silva and was released in January 2002. It was filmed in Sanford, Florida at the old bridge over the St. Johns River and on the banks of the river.

Young (mango)

The 'Young' mango, also known as the 'Tebow' mango, is a named mango cultivar that originated in south Florida.

History

The original tree was the result of a mango hybridization program begun in 1956 and conducted by David Sturrock of West Palm Beach, Florida. Sturrock crossed several varieties, including the 'Edward' and 'Kent' cultivars. 'Edward x Kent #14', which grew from an 'Edward' seed, was named 'Young' after Dr. T.W. Young. It first fruited in 1964 and was deemed the only variety from its group worth keeping and evaluating.

'Young' trees were planted in other locations, including the University of Florida's Tropical Research and Education Center in Homestead, Florida, and the Miami-Dade Fruit and Spice Park. However, the cultivar was not heavily propagated for close to 40 years until it began being marketed under the name 'Tebow', with the name coming from quarterback Tim Tebow. Tebow's association with the fruit has led to him being frequently referred to as "The Fifth Highwayman".

Icon (Vince Gill album)

Icon is a greatest hits album by American country musician Vince Gill. It was released on August 31, 2010 by MCA Nashville, and contains select highlight songs from his career.
