A Day to Remember is an American rock band from Ocala, Florida. Founded in 2003 by guitarist Tom Denney and drummer Bobby Scruggs, the band has released four studio albums, nine singles and eight music videos. They are mainly known for their unusual amalgamation of metalcore and pop punk as a musical style.
After all playing in different groups in the Ocala music scene, singer Jeremy McKinnon, guitarists Neil Westfall and Tom Denney, bassist Josh Woodard, and drummer Bobby Scruggs came together in 2003. Soon after, the band embarked on a "DIY" tour, playing well over 200 shows, making a name for themselves. They were signed to Indianola Records, from which they recorded their debut full-length debut album, titled And Their Name Was Treason in May 2005. The album sold 8,690 copies but the band felt that bigger and better things were to come. "A friend of mine said he had the AIM screenname of someone at Victory Records,” Woodard said. "I didn’t believe him, but I still started communicating with the guy. We IM’ed back and forth for about six months, and it happened that we were playing with the band On the Last Day in a town outside of Chicago—and this guy was going to be there filming it. It was our first time we ever played in Illinois, yet the 50–60 kids there were singing along to our tunes like they’d been fans all their lives."
Pension tax simplification, often simply referred to as "pension simplification" and taking effect from A-day in 6 April 2006 was a policy announced in 2004 by the Labour government to rationalise the British tax system as applied to pension schemes. The aim was to reduce the complicated patchwork of legislation built-up by successive administrations which were seen as acting as a barrier to the public when considering retirement planning. The government wanted to encourage retirement provision by simplifying the previous eight tax regimes into one single regime for all individual and occupational pensions.
Broadly the new regime allows considerable freedom in the tax relievable contributions that may be made to pension schemes, and the assets in which they may be invested. It also however caps the size of tax favoured pension fund that may be accumulated by an individual. This 'lifetime allowance' was set at £1.6M for 2007–08. Funds accumulated in excess of the lifetime allowance are subject to a tax charge of 55%. Transitional protection provisions were made for individuals who had already accumulated pension funds in excess of this amount.
I've been feeling like everythings for nothing.
In fact I've never felt so god damn small.
Always searching for the bright side to find the strength for when I fall
I'm still believing that life has a meaning.
Can't cope with things that there's not.
I'm so divided that I try to hide it
It's the only real thing that I've got!
So when the world outside can't see what's wrong and right.
People can't understand the reasons that we fight.
Somethings gotta give.
Violence give me violence,
Cause they say we're the worthless ones.
Substance give me substance.
Heavy life's the crown as I cut you down. (x2)
You can call this a warning. It's a warning
That we're drowning in our malcontent.
Tear me down like a cancer, what's your answer?
We're different and it makes you sick.
There is a sadness here, on every corner, it's
In our hearts dear god don't wanna trouble you
Much, but we all need to know when Enough is Enough.
So when the world outside can't see what's wrong and right.
People can't understand the reasons that we fight.
Somethings gotta give.
Violence give me violence,
Cause they say we're the worthless ones.
Substance give me substance.
Heavy lifes the crown as I cut you down. (x2)
You only get one chance, and that's one too much.
What's the world gunna say when I call you bluff, punk?
Bow your, head.
Violence give me violence,
Cause they say we're the worthless ones.
Substance give me substance.
