San Diego /ˌsæn diːˈeɪɡoʊ/ (Spanish for "Saint Didacus") is a major city in California, on the coast of the Pacific Ocean in Southern California, approximately 120 miles (190 km) south of Los Angeles and immediately adjacent to the border with Mexico.
With an estimated population of 1,381,069 as of July 1, 2014, San Diego is the eighth-largest city in the United States and second-largest in California. San Diego is the birthplace of California and is known for its mild year-round climate, natural deep-water harbor, extensive beaches, long association with the U.S. Navy, and recent emergence as a healthcare and biotechnology development center.
Historically home to the Kumeyaay people, San Diego was the first site visited by Europeans on what is now the West Coast of the United States. Upon landing in San Diego Bay in 1542, Juan Rodríguez Cabrillo claimed the entire area for Spain, forming the basis for the settlement of Alta California 200 years later. The Presidio and Mission of San Diego, founded in 1769, formed the first European settlement in what is now California. In 1821, San Diego became part of newly independent Mexico, and in 1850, became part of the United States following the Mexican–American War and the admission of California to the union.

Greater San Diego ranks as the 38th largest metropolitan area in the Americas.

Diego is a Spanish masculine given name. It derives from a re-analysis of Sant Yago ("Saint Jacob"), viz. in reference to Saint James the Greater, re-analysed as San Diego.
In today's Spanish-speaking countries, Diego and Santiago are common as given names; Diego, Santiago and Sandiego are found as surnames. The forms Tiago, Thiago, Diago and Diogo are seen mostly in Portuguese speaking (Lusophone) countries.
The name is on record since the High Middle Ages (Diego de Acebo, d. 1207).
During the medieval era, the names "Sant Yago", "Diago" and "Diego" seem to have coexisted. "Sant Yago" is used, for example, in a letter by James II of Aragon dated 1300: "[...] maestro de la cavalleria de Sant Yago et de la dita orden [...]".
"Diago" is recorded, for example, in "Et fue a casa del Rey. e mostrolo a don diago que era adelantado del Rey" (Fuero de Burgos, c. 1240)
In the Renaissance era, the name was Latinized as Didacus (from Greek διδαχή (didache) "teaching").
"Diego" as a generic name or term for a Spaniard is documented from around 1615, and "dago" is used as such still in the 19th century. By the early 20th century, the term "dago" became an ethnic slur chiefly for Italian Americans, besides also for anyone of Hispanic or Portuguese descent.

After a month of recording, I finally pieced together my first episode of bad drivers, the first few clips are from my old iPhone 4, half way through the clips I got my iPhone 5 and you can clearly see the quality and stability increased. So I apologize for the first few crappy quality of clips. ***Videos of bad drivers that I experience while driving in San Diego County. Just to clarify some things about each video is that I am in no sense a perfect driver and no one else is either, we all make mistakes every now and then. However I am trying to show you viewers what it is like from my experiences driving through San Diego County. I also drive the speed limit to show what other drivers are doing in terms of speeding, tailgating, etc. These videos are not to prove anything or attem...

There is a bully with SPS that has a louder horn than that of BDoNV's and uses it to kick cars off his lane, plus a couple of east coast jackasses (including a Masshole). I did end up going to SD again this month, so there will be more clips in the SD area, including Chula Vista. The travel bug was hitting me seriously this past week. So I decided to make a trip down to San Diego. I hit almost every station between Oceanside and San Diego. Caught almost every train in a 14 hour period. I have never traveled this far south by myself, so I took a huge advantage of having my own car. Thanks to Coasterfan2105 I was able to find new spots that I had never been to before. This video features 2 rare daytime DAYGO trains and then nothing but highspeed passenger trains. Even visited Del Mar again, which was a huge treat. Please enjoy the video!

http://bookinghunter.com San Diego, California, is one of the most culturally diverse cities in the United States and, arguably, one of the most beautiful. The whitewashed stucco buildings give a Mediterranean-style flavor to the architecture while the culture has a decidedly Mexican influence to it (Tijuana is just a short drive over the border). Despite this foreign-country look and feel, the city of San Diego is uniquely American and a truly memorable place to visit. The most important places to visit in San Diego are: Mission Beach, Balboa Park (one of the greatest urban parks of the world. With museums and gardens inside the park, you can spend days there), Hotel Del Coronado (an amazing ocean front hotel and historic national landmark. It has hosted top celebrities, like Marilyn Mo...
Travel video about destination San Diego in the United States of America. For some, San Diego, a coastal city with a wonderful climate, is California's southernmost city, for others it is the northernmost city in Mexico. It is not quite as predictable as other U.S. metropolises and even the skyline promises something different. Palm trees, colorful flowerbeds and wonderful sandy beaches are typical of Southern California and are an open invitation to surfing and relaxation. The exclusivity of the beaches exudes an aura of luxurious living and the grand houses of the Coronado district are among the city's most prestigious. The long distance trains that travel through Amtrak Station connect San Diego with many other Californian cities and also with the bordering city of Santa Fe. The red t...

I wanted to add a lot of good clips in this release, but there's just so much that I can add, and I want to make sure that the compilation is under 30 minutes.

Finally, after a long wait and at the request of a number of individuals, I managed to head out to San Diego and film the entire Orange Line, starting from El Cajon and arriving into Downtown San Diego at the America Plaza station. Considering the success of my previous video of the 'San Diego Trolley Green Line', I decided to continue with another 'Entire Line Ride', this time with the Orange Line. The Orange Line primarily serves the eastern region of the urban San Diego area, serving the cities of El Cajon, Grossmont, Lemon Grove, Downtown, and other neighboring communities. This line does however run through one of the more impoverished regions of San Diego and it is apparent throughout the duration of this trip. In general however, the trolley still remains a very reliable and comfort...
This film shows the light rail system of San Diego, California, which is simply known as “San Diego Trolley.” The system consists of three lines (Blue, Orange and Green) that run through downtown San Diego in a loop, but reach quite far into the suburbs. The Blue line actually terminates in San Ysidro, which is directly by the Mexican border. The fleet consists mostly of SD100 and (newer) S70 light rail vehicles manufactured by Siemens. But there are also some older U2 type vehicles from Düwag in operation. Note that quite interestingly, these are of the same class as the ones used in Frankfurt/Main, Germany. There is also a historic PCC streetcar operating along the downtown loop during the day as a tourist attraction. Most of this film is shot around the downtown area. Being typical f...

For many years, every time I visit San Diego, I would always see the San Diego Trolley, but I've never really paid too much attention to this urban, light rail transit system until today. I decided to head down to Downtown San Diego and ride the trolley on the Green Line to Santee. While riding to Santee, I noticed that the operator's area / cab, one at each end of the trolley, is separated only by a thin wall and two windows and that vision of the tracks is easily possible through these two windows. So once I arrived at Santee, the eastern terminus of the Green Line, I decided to film the entire Green Line going west all the way from Santee to the 12th and Imperial Transit Center out of the window separating the cab and the passengers. I decided to film out the rear, rather than the front...

Driver escapes after erratic chase across San Diego ___________________________________________________________________ SAN DIEGO -- A motorist who fled from officers in La Jolla Thursday crisscrossed the coastal San Diego area for about 45 minutes before finally pulling over in the East Village and escaping on foot. Patrol personnel were responding to a request to check on the man's welfare when they found and tried to contact him as he sat in a parked Honda Accord in the area of Caminito Eastbluff and Via Sonoma about 5:15 p.m., according to police. Seeing them, the man drove off, and the officers followed and tried in vain to pull him over. The suspected driver, Ahran Haugley, fled to the north through La Jolla, driving at high speed and so recklessly that police decided to back off...

2015 HD POV of the Entire Walking Dead Escape Obstacle course at San Diego Comic-Con in California. This year's run included Aaron, the saviors, Negan and his bat Lucille. This was filmed opening night (July 10th, 2015) during the 6pm Wave. I enjoyed the acting and the variation in the course this year. It still feels a little on the short side. I wish they'd make it an official 5k. Regardless, I had a great time. I highly recommend checking it out if you're in the area for Comic-Con. My favorite part is around 4:05. We change directions and most of the group decides to improvise and go running through the bushes. It was fun, chaotic and un-planned. For a second I lost myself in the excitement and it felt real! :) Thanks for Watching! Keep Calm and Wear Running Shoes during the Apoca...
