Dr. Simon B. Jones-Hendrickson,
Dean of the
College of Liberal Arts &
Social Sciences of the
University of the Virgin Islands presents historic lecture entitled "Size and Survival: The Era of Globalization" at the
Fort Young Hotel in
Dominica on Tuesday, April 2,
2013.
This is the first part of the lecture delivered and received exceptional well by all in attendance on issues of regional and global significance. Pay special attention to the collaborative partnerships exhibited amongst
Caribbean scholars, students, faculty and administration of the
University of the West Indies, the University of the Virgin Islands and the financial communities of Dominica and other Caribbean economic corporations.
The lecture was mounted in collaboration with the
National Bank of Dominica (
NBD) Ltd,
the
Eastern Caribbean Central Bank (
ECCB) and the
University of West Indies (
UWI)
Open Campus Dominica.
The lecture focused on the relevance of size of countries, and in particular Caribbean countries, in the age of globalization. Dr. Jones-Hendrickson stressed that the size of
Caribbean nations should be regarded as an asset rather than a hindrance.
