Death Note is a 37-episode anime series based on the manga series of the same title written by Tsugumi Ohba and illustrated by Takeshi Obata. Death Note aired in Japan on the Nippon Television (NTV) network every Tuesday, from October 3, 2006, to June 26, 2007. The plot of the series primarily revolves around high school student Light Yagami, who decides to rid the world of evil with the help of a supernatural notebook titled Death Note. This book causes the death of anyone whose name is written in it and is passed on to Light by the God of Death (or Shinigami) Ryuk after he becomes bored within the Shinigami world.

A three-hour "Director's Cut" compilation TV special, titled "Death Note: Relight: Visions of a God", aired on NTV a few months after the anime concluded. Although advertised to be the "complete conclusion", the popularity of the series inspired the release of a second TV special, titled "Death Note: Relight 2: L's Successors" nearly a year later. These specials recap the first and second arcs of the anime respectively, with new scenes added to fill in any plot holes resulted from omitted footage.

Abduction (1975 film)

Abduction is a 1975 film directed by Joseph Zito. A young newspaper heiress is kidnapped by a group of radicals who subject her to rape and assault, which leads to the girl becoming sympathetic to their cause and eventually joining them.

Vickers Vernon

The Vickers Vernon was a British biplane troop carrier used by the Royal Air Force. It was the first dedicated troop transport of the RAF, entering service in 1921.

The Vernon was a development of the Vickers Vimy Commercial, a passenger variant of the famous Vickers Vimy bomber, and was powered by twin Napier Lion engines or Rolls-Royce Eagle VIII engines. 55 were built.

In February 1923, in Iraq, Vernons of Nos. 45 and 70 Squadrons RAF airlifted nearly 500 troops to Kirkuk, after the civilian area of that town had been overrun by Kurdish forces. This was the first ever strategic airlift of troops.

Vernons of No. 45 Squadron had bomb racks and sights fitted. In May 1924 the squadron was officially designated No. 45 (Bombing) Sqdn.

Vernons were replaced by Vickers Victorias from 1927.

Vernon (Mount Olive, North Carolina)

Vernon, also known as the Anna Maria Ward House, was a historic plantation house located near Mount Olive, Wayne County, North Carolina. It was built about 1837, and was a two-story, five bay by two bay, Federal style frame dwelling. It sat on a brick pier foundation and one-story shed porch that replaced a mid-19th century two-story porch of Italianate design. It has been demolished.

It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1974.
