Sutherland is a registration county, lieutenancy area and former county of Scotland. It is now within the Highland council area. In Gaelic the area is referred to according to its traditional areas: Dùthaich Mhic Aoidh (or Dùthaich 'Ic Aoidh) (NW), Asainte (Assynt), and Cataibh (East). However, Cataibh will often be used to refer to the area as a whole.
The county town, and only burgh of the county, was Dornoch. Other settlements include Bonar Bridge, Lairg, Brora, Durness, Embo, Tongue, Golspie, Helmsdale, Lochinver, Scourie and Kinlochbervie.
Sutherland became a local government area in 1890, and the county was abolished in 1975, when the Sutherland district was created as one of eight districts of the Highland Region. The region was created at the same time as the district. The district was abolished in 1996, when the region became a council area.
The name Sutherland dates from the era of Norse rule and settlement over much of the Highlands and Islands, under the rule of the jarl of Orkney. Although it contains some of the northernmost land in the island of Great Britain, it was called Suðrland ("southern land") from the standpoint of Orkney and Caithness.

Jack Bauer is the protagonist of the American television series 24. His character has worked in various capacities on the show, often as a member of the fictional Counter Terrorist Unit (CTU) based in Los Angeles, and working with the FBI in Washington, D.C. during season 7. Within the 24 storyline, Bauer is a key member of CTU and is often portrayed as their most capable agent. Bauer's job usually involves helping prevent major terrorist attacks on the United States, saving both civilian lives and government administrations. On many occasions Jack does so at great personal expense, as those he thwarts subsequently target him and his loved ones. Bauer's frequent use of torture to gather information has generated much controversy and discussion. Entertainment Weekly named Jack Bauer one of The 20 All Time Coolest Heroes in Pop Culture.
Actor Kiefer Sutherland portrays Jack Bauer in the television show and video game. The television series ended on May 24, 2010 after 8 successful seasons. A feature film is now underway. TV Guide ranked him #49 on their list of "TV's Top 50 Heroes" and Sky 1 listed Jack as #1 on their list of "TV's toughest men".

Vincenzo Salvatore Carmelo Francesco Bellini (3 November 1801 – 23 September 1835) was a Italian opera composer. A native of Catania in Sicily, his greatest works are I Capuleti ed i Montecchi (1830), La sonnambula (1831), Norma (1831), Beatrice di Tenda (1833), and I puritani (1835). Known for his long-flowing melodic lines, for which he was named "the Swan of Catania", Bellini was the quintessential composer of bel canto opera. He died in Puteaux, France at the age of 33, nine months after the premiere of his last opera, I puritani.
Born in Catania, Sicily, Bellini was a child prodigy from a highly musical family and legend has it he could sing an aria of Valentino Fioravanti at eighteen months. He began studying music theory at two, the piano at three, and by the age of five could apparently play well. Bellini's first five pieces were composed when he was just six years old. Regardless of the veracity of these claims, it is certain that Bellini grew up in a musical household and that a career as a musician was never in doubt.

The transport to Contention is hazardous and filled with ambushes by Indians, pursuits by Wade's vengeful gang and Wade's own conniving and surreptitious demeanor that makes the ride all the more intense.

Day 4: Entering Guatemala
This was not only my first trip to Central America but my first backpacking trip. This trip was a huge breakthrough in my vision of travel as I have spend the past year evolving my passion and desire for travel. It was suppose to be two plus ones, however my mom didn't make it because of school. So my step father and I happily flew into the beautiful countries of Belize and Guatemala, Two completely different yet diverse lands with amazing people. Although Belize is the only English speaking country in Central America, it is a mixing pot of English, Spanish, Mayan, and coastal Garifuna cultures. Belize is a good mashup of tourist and backpacker all in one.
After flying into Belize Citys airport out the outskirts of the city, we took a cab to the Belize City Water Taxi terminal. From here we took about an hour boat ride to Caye Caulker en route to our island, Ambergris Caye where San Pedro is. San Pedro so far was the most relaxing and most laid back place I have ever been to. WHen they say take it slow, they mean it as time nearly seized to exist and our time there seemed to last longer than we thought, GOOD. We spend half of our second day strolling the beaches, walking around town where all they primarily drive is golf carts, and finally went snorkeling in Shark Alley with sharks, turtles, and fish.
Third day we left the relaxation of the island behind, headed for Belize City and took our first 3 hour chicken bus across Belize for San Ignacio. Although uncomfortable, the bus ride costed us a whopping $4. Once we finally arrived in San Ignacio, we settled in our cozy hotel and took a cab ride over to the Mayan ruins of Xunantunich, 15 to 20 minutes from the Guatemala border and the Mayan ruins of Cahal Pech, outside the city. Considering the distance, we walked from Cahal Pech through the small town of San Ignacio to catch dinner and finally head back to our hotel. Instead of our fourth day cave diving or tubing, we cancelled those plans and headed straight for the Guatemalan border to spend the next five days there before heading back home.
Belize is an amazing country for it's size. It not only offers great tourism but offers foreigners the opportunity to buy land for retirement. As for backpackers, Belize is the most if not one of the more expensive countries in Central America. However, the experience between relaxing on a Belizean beach or hiking up a Mayan pyramid is something that you truly can never forget. For a small English speaking nation in Central America, Belize is Unbelizable. Can you Belize it? :)
Many years ago, I sat in a college classroom glancing at pictures of travel, two years ago I started, last year I left the country for the first time, this trip, I backpacked for the first time. Like all my videos, they represent me as I put my heart into all of my footage. I not only enjoy my time and explore but I hope to give others the opportunity to see how things are done beyond the travel guides and books. This is travel in the eyes of Anthony Perez! MOUNTAINS. Pretty snow. Bungy jumping. Hobbits.
Frankly, before heading to Queenstown, NZ to write this travel story, I didn't know a whole lot more than that about the place.
All I knew was that the office-ski bum loved the place and, well, Lord of The Rings.
But I'm onto them. Now I know why Queenstown is Peter Jackson and Mr Bum's little secret. No matter who you are, there's something random for you to do there.
There are six reasons why - other than it's renowned skiing and snowboarding - Queenstown is a special place to visit.
1. The place loves itself - as it should
Queenstown rates itself pretty highly. And why shouldn't it?
The village sits on the edge of Lake Wakatipu, which stretches as far as the eye can see. And it's surrounded by a series of snow-capped mountain ranges.
One of the ranges that looms over the town is humbly known as The Remarkables. A nearby region is known as Paradise. There's a national park in less prime real estate known as Mount Aspiring (you'll get there one day, Mount).
Needless to say, it's a completely different sight to anything you'd see in Australia, a land as flat as a pancake. Queenstown has it, and it's flaunting it.
2. The famous sheep
Hmmmm. I'm standing on the edge of Lake Wakatipu, talking to my guide about Queenstown. "Gavin," I ask, "What's with that statue?"
"That's William Gilbert Rees," he says, the town's founder. A New South Welshman, actually; a sheep farmer and a decorated explorer.
But the thing that's caught my attention is that his long time animal companion has also been made into a statue.
3. I'd call it a melting pot if it wasn't so cold
If your favourite thing about travelling is the chance to meet people from all walks of life, then you're in the right place.
Whether sipping a mulled wine in front of a log fire is more your thing - or belting down a tune at karaoke with a Canadian at one of the town's many laneway bars - you're sure to strike up conversation with someone from a faraway place.
No one is actually FROM Queenstown. Barely anyone, anyway. Even many of the tour guides didn't grow up in the place, instead moving here from Britain or Japan to pursue their passion for outdoor activities.
Case in point: here's a passage from a 'Two Minutes With a Tourist' Q&A; from a local newspaper.
Q: In general, what do you think of Kiwis?
A: This is really bad but I don't know that many because I've been living with other tourists. The ones that I've met have been grand, though.
4. The daredevil sports - especially the ones you've never heard of
Queenstown is famous for its bungy. It's where the sport started in 1988.
Inspired by 'land-diving' in Vanuatu, where locals free fall off cliffs with vines tied to their legs, a couple of Kiwi skiing mates started jumping off the Kararau Bridge after years studying what cord could safely sustain a human.
If you're looking to feel ALIVE, do it. It's safe: the practice is tightly regulated and monitored by authorities.
There's no shortage of places to jump and you can even do it in tandem with someone else.
5. The less daredevil sports ...
Don't worry: if you don't want to jump out of a plane, fall off a cliff and plummet down a mountain, there's heaps for you to do.
You can start with exercising your forearm playing a round of 'disc (frisbee) golf'.
Disc golf is big in Queenstown, with hundreds flocking to the town's botanical gardens each week to battle their mates in attempting to successfully sink frisbees into baskets.
"It's free if you've got a frisbee," adds the Queenstown founder of the game, psychologist James Smithells. It's a nice way to stretch your legs and explore a scenic part of town.
And then there's funyaking. You know it, I know it. Activities that start with the word 'fun' often turn out to be pretty lame.
This time, you're wrong. 'Funyaking', a canoeing trip up the near-glacial waters of the Dart River, is an adventure.
You'll get to see New Zealand's wildlife - including a beaut canyon - up close and personal, it's fit for all ages, you'll make some new mates. AND you'll feel like you accomplished something at the end, as we did.
Other potential choices? You won't regret a helicopter tour over scenic Milford Sound. And if Frodo and Sam are what brought you to Queenstown, consider a Lord of the Rings tour.
But if you're only a casual fan, don't worry. Many locals have such a deep understanding of where various scenes were filmed they should be able to brief you anyway.

Story Plot
In the aftermath of the events of Ground Zeroes and the destruction of Militaires Sans Frontières (commonly abbreviated as MSF), Big Boss (Kiefer Sutherland/Akio Ōtsuka) falls into a coma. Nine years later, he awakes and helps lead a new mercenary group, Diamond Dogs. Adopting the codenames "Punished Snake" and "Venom Snake", he ventures into Afghanistan during the Soviet–Afghan War and the Angola—Zaire border region during the Angolan Civil War to track down the men responsible for MSF's destruction. Along the way, he becomes reacquainted with his former rival Ocelot (Troy Baker/Satoshi Mikami) and encounters Quiet, an assassin with supernatural abilities. While he and Benedict "Kazuhira" Miller (Robin Atkin Downes/Tomokazu Sugita) are initially driven to exact revenge, Snake soon unearths a plot by the Cipher organization to develop a new model of the Metal Gear system known as the ST-84 "Sahelanthropus".
Gameplay
In The Phantom Pain, players take the role of Punished "Venom" Snake (also known by his alias Big Boss) in a massive collection of open-world environments. The gameplay elements were largely unchanged from Ground Zeroes, meaning that players will have to sneak from several points in the game world, avoiding enemy guards, and remaining undetected. Included in Snake's repertoire are binoculars, maps, pistols, assault rifles and explosives. Following one of the series traditions, The Phantom Pain encourages players to progress through the game without killing, using non-lethal weapons such as tranquilizer darts to subdue enemies. Players may traverse the game world with vehicles such as cars and tanks, in addition to traveling on foot or on horseback, and as certain locations are mountainous, players can opt to scale a rock face as a short cut. They may also call for friendly helicopter support against enemy soldiers in a combat alert or send commandos to scout a target area. Snake can also call on AI companions—including Quiet, a female sniper with supernatural abilities; D-Horse, a horse with a customizable saddle for carrying more equipment in the field; D-Walker, a manned, highly agile mobile weapons platform that can provide heavy weapons support; and DD, a trained wolf acquired on the battlefield of war-torn Africa as a pup and trained on the new Mother Base—to assist him in the field. The companions' abilities and their effectiveness will depend on the player's relationship with them.

Adopting the codenames "Punished Snake" and "Venom Snake", he ventures into Afghanistan during the Soviet–Afghan War and the Angola—Zaire border region during the Angolan Civil War to track down the men responsible for MSF's destruction. Along the way, he becomes reacquainted with his former rival Ocelot (Troy Baker/Satoshi Mikami) and encounters Quiet, an assassin with supernatural abilities. While he and Benedict "Kazuhira" Miller (Robin Atkin Downes/Tomokazu Sugita) are initially driven to exact revenge, Snake soon unearths a plot by the Cipher organization to develop a new model of the Metal Gear system known as the ST-84 "Sahelanthropus".
Gameplay
In The Phantom Pain, players take the role of Punished "Venom" Snake (also known by his alias Big Boss) in a massive collection of open-world environments. The gameplay elements were largely unchanged from Ground Zeroes, meaning that players will have to sneak from several points in the game world, avoiding enemy guards, and remaining undetected. Included in Snake's repertoire are binoculars, maps, pistols, assault rifles and explosives. Following one of the series traditions, The Phantom Pain encourages players to progress through the game without killing, using non-lethal weapons such as tranquilizer darts to subdue enemies. Players may traverse the game world with vehicles such as cars and tanks, in addition to traveling on foot or on horseback, and as certain locations are mountainous, players can opt to scale a rock face as a short cut. They may also call for friendly helicopter support against enemy soldiers in a combat alert or send commandos to scout a target area. Snake can also call on AI companions—including Quiet, a female sniper with supernatural abilities; D-Horse, a horse with a customizable saddle for carrying more equipment in the field; D-Walker, a manned, highly agile mobile weapons platform that can provide heavy weapons support; and DD, a trained wolf acquired on the battlefield of war-torn Africa as a pup and trained on the new Mother Base—to assist him in the field. The companions' abilities and their effectiveness will depend on the player's relationship with them.
