Angels are written about interacting with men in texts from many belief systems including The Bible, and The Quaran but may have originated in Zoroastrianism a monotheistic religion originating in iran and may date as far back as the 2nd Millennium BCE There is no definitive proof that angels exist. Polls suggest that nearly 70% of Americans think they do. In 2007 a Baylor Religion Survey showed that 57% of Catholics, 81% of Black Protestants, 66 % of Evangelical Christians and 10% of Jews reported that they had a personal experience with a guardian angel. Even 20% of those who identify themselves as “nones” or unaffiliated said they encountered an Angel. A Google book search brings up 149,000 results for the keyword angel! Me, I personally live by the skeptics motto, a quote from Carl Sagan: Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence. 2: What could have caused this angel's death? Taking a look at the pictures a couple of things set of alarms right away. The cause of death could have been 1. Old age. 2. Obesity. I mean if it could be lured in by some bread crumbs, the poor creature apparently has an eating disorder, which could lead to hypertension, hardened arteries etc. 3. Stopping. It wasn't the fall that killed this poor thing but the sudden stop it made when it hit the ground. 3: Did some angel hunter use bread crumbs to lure it in? Or is their some giant pigeon roaming around that we should be concerned about? This is the most important question out of them all. I mean, we could deal with angels. They for the most part are believed to be good and mean no harm, otherwise I think we would all be working for them right now. But a giant rat with wings? That's all a pigeon is. A giant scavenger full of disease and pestilence...which makes me wonder how big are the goddamn gleas on that thing? So is this a real angel or not? Not! Once again rational wins out. What you are looking at is an incredibly life like (with the exception of it being an angel) sculpture made by Beijing artists Peng Yu and Sun Yan...who apparently happen to have some sort of strange fetish for sculpting old people. The Angel art piece was created in 2008 and according to the artists notes on their website that has since crashed due to so much traffic... They state... in their recent installations using hyper-realistic sculpture, they reverse their original practice: imagination and mythological subjects penetrate into the realm of everyday life and reality. Angel, a life-size sculpture in fiber-reinforced polymer and silica gel of a fallen angel is typical of this new approach. The angel, an old woman in a white gown and with featherless wings, is lying face-down on the ground; maybe sleeping, maybe dead, but certainly immobile and frozen into an all too realistic image. The images are beautiful, haunting and damn realistic. But once again, not real.
