The Mig's "Fan of the Day" Contest at Saratoga
The New York Racing Association, Inc. (NYRA) has started a "Fan of the Day" promotion in which former jockey and current NYRA television analyst Richard Migliore will select two lucky fans for special behind-the-scenes access. Every weekday -- Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday -- for the remainder of the meet, Migliore will randomly select two winners from the crowd. He will then accompany them into the paddock before a race, and then to the winner's circle to watch the race. Additionally, after the race they will take part in the winner's circle photograph ceremony and receive copies of the photo to memorialize their "Fan of the Day" experience. Migliore, who began riding in 1980 and a year later won the Eclipse Award as the nation's top apprentice, retired in 2010 after winning more than 4400 races, including 362 stakes. Twice the leading rider in New York, "The Mig" currently serves as a NYRA racing office associate in addition to his role as a broadcast analyst.

The New York Racing Association, Inc. (NYRA) has released the second video in its "Time Machine" video series: a profile of Rachel Alexandra's unprecedented victory over older males in last year's Grade 1 Woodward Stakes at Saratoga Race Course. The episode includes footage of the thrilling stretch drive in which Rachel Alexandra, then a 3-year-old filly, held off a hard-charging Macho Again to win by a head after setting a torrid pace. Jockey Calvin Borel -- who was aboard Rachel Alexandra for all eight of her starts during her undefeated, Horse of the Year campaign in 2009-- offers his perspectives of last year's Woodward in an interview. To watch the video, click here: Rachel Alexandra will try to make more history at the Spa on Sunday, August 29 when she competes in the Grade 1 Personal Ensign, a 1 ¼-mile race for fillies and mares. The "NYRA Time Machine" series documents some of the most historical moments in New York racing history, and additional episodes will be unveiled during the upcoming weeks. Racing fans can find each "NYRA Time Machine" video on the NYRA YouTube channel or on the NYRA homepage, located at www.nyra.com.

NYRA Time Machine: Holy Bull Holds On in the 1994 Travers
The New York Racing Association, Inc. (NYRA) has added a new installment to its "Time Machine" video series, this time featuring Holy Bull's victory in the 1994 Travers Stakes at Saratoga Race Course. Holy Bull, later named the 1994 Horse of the Year, entered the Travers having easily won five of his previous six starts, with his sole defeat having come in the Kentucky Derby, which was contested at 1 ¼ miles, the same distance as the Travers. In the video, Dave Grening of the Daily Racing Form and Michael Veitch of The Saratogian present their insights into Holy Bull's his performance in the Travers, in which he opened up to a four-length lead up the backstretch and dug in resolutely in the final quarter mile to prevail by a neck over Concern, who later that year won the Breeders' Cup Classic. Also, track announcer Tom Durkin reminisces about the race, in which he used the memorable line "But there is cause for Concern!" as the eventual runner-up launched his late rally. The "NYRA Time Machine" series documents some of the most historic moments in New York racing history, and additional episodes will be unveiled during the upcoming weeks. Racing fans can find each "NYRA Time Machine" video on the NYRA YouTube channel or on the NYRA homepage, located at www.nyra.com.

Sam the Bugler Trumpets LIRR's Extra Service for the Belmont Stakes
Famed New York racetrack bugler Sam Grossman -- Sam the Bugler to thoroughbred racing fans -- joined MTA Long Island Railroad President Helena Williams to trumpet the LIRR's extra train service for the running of the 144th Belmont Stakes on Saturday, June 9. Formally attired in red riding jacket, white pants and black hat, Sam kicked off the LIRR's press conference at Belmont Park with a snappy rendition of "Call to the Post," the familiar pre-race summons and signal to millions the world over that the final leg of thoroughbred racing's Triple Crown is about to get underway. With 18 trains scheduled to shuttle customers to Belmont on Stakes Day and the promise of unlimited post-race service to get everyone home, the LIRR is the ticket to see history in the making when Triple Crown contender "I'll Have Another" tries to become the first horse since Affirmed in 1978 to win the Kentucky Derby, the Preakness Stakes and the Belmont. "The LIRR is the most convenient way to reach Belmont and avoid traffic and parking hassles," said Williams. "With a Triple Crown contender in the race, we expect a capacity crowd. The LIRR is adding extra service to bring you directly to the park so you won't miss any of the excitement." New York Racing Association officials are expecting at least 100000 people to turn out at Belmont Park on Stakes Day and an estimated 20% will travel there on the Long Island Rail Road -- an easy 36 minute ride from Penn Station - rather than fight the traffic on ...

Cordero on Cordero - 1984 Whitney Handicap (G1)
The New York Racing Association, Inc. (NYRA) has released the second video in its "Cordero on Cordero" series, in which Hall of Fame jockey Angel Cordero, Jr. recounts some of the most memorable moments and biggest wins in his career. The second installment revisits Cordero's victory in the 1984 Grade 1 Whitney Handicap aboard Slew o' Gold. In the clip Cordero recalls bantering with Track Barron's rider, Jean Cruguet, before and during the race. Slew o' Gold would go on to easily defeat Track Barron, giving Cordero his first triumph in the Whitney. As a jockey Cordero won 7057 races, including many of the most prestigious events in North America. In New York alone, Cordero won the 1976 Belmont Stakes, six editions of the Woodward (including five straight from 1981-1985), five runnings of the Suburban, and the 1985 Travers. He added a second Whitney victory in 1985, ironically aboard Track Barron.

New York Watch: Fortify
It was only a matter of minutes after Fortify had broken his maiden on Saturday at Saratoga Race Course that his trainer, Kiaran McLaughlin, stamped him as a contender for the Grade 2, $300000 Three Chimneys Hopeful, the featured race on closing day. Making his debut in Saturday's third race, Fortify led exiting the chute in the 6 ½-furlong race before yielding the top spot to Boss Man Rocket. Fortify remained off the flank of the pacesetter through an opening quarter mile in 21.73 seconds, regained the top spot with three eighths to travel, led through a half in 44.43, and slipped clear when set down by Joe Bravo en route to a 5 ½-length victory. The final time for 6 ½ furlongs was 1:16.34, with Fortify paying $10.40 for a $2 wager as the 4-1 fourth choice. With the win, the 2-year-old son of Distorted Humor becomes the fourth juvenile and first colt from the 2012 Saratoga meet to join the New York Watch, which profiles promising maiden winners on The New York Racing Association, Inc. (NYRA) circuit. "He has trained very well and we were looking for a very good performance out of him, but that was pretty special," said trainer Kiaran McLaughlin. "The fractions were very fast. He was laying second, just off them. He acted up a little bit in the gate -- we'll have to work on that -- but we were just happy to see him run so well." Fortify, a Darley Stable homebred, is out of Kotuku, a placed daughter of Flagbird, who was awarded highweight honors in England, Ireland, and ...

Joshua God Wars Pt 7: The Walls Came Tumbling Down
And the Walls Came Tumbling Downs
Joshua fit the battle of Jericho
Jericho Jericho;
Joshua fit the battle of Jericho
And the walls came tumbling down.
Do a Google search on “the walls came tumbling down” and you get everything from Martin Luther King and the fall of racial barriers, the Berlin Wall and the fall of communism, Madonna dumping the Record Industry for a 120 Million dollar deal with Live Nation, to the song by Def Leppard. Evidently God doesn’t know how to make His miracles pop up first in the Google search engine.
Make No Mistake About it, GOD IS IN THE DEMOLITION BUSINESS. WHEN YOU NEEDS WALLS AND STRONGHOLDS TORN DOWN, CALL 1-800-WALLFALL
Jericho was a massive walled city for 1400 BC. Considered impenetrable, unsiegeable. They had a spring inside the walls for water. They had just completed the barley harvest so food was plentiful. Joshua 6:1 says the city was shut up inside and outside. They were anticipating a long siege.
The Lord says something astounding to Joshua in verse 2: “See, I have given Jericho into your hand, with its king and mighty men of valor.”
The Walls had already come tumblinbg down in the mind of God! Joshua couldn’t see it!
That is Faith-seeing the invisible, seeing the impossible
GOD CHALLENGES US TO BELIEVE THE IMPOSSIBLE!
In order to Claim our Inheritance and Rest in God, we have to tear down Walled Strongholds
¿ Have you ever looked at something in your life and wondered how you were going to get through it?
¿ Have you ever encountered a wall in a relationship, in your family, at work, in church, in life?
Walls are Strongholds.
WALLS CAN STOP US.
Job 19:8 (ESV) He has walled up my way, so that I cannot pass, and he has set darkness upon my paths.
Numbers 22:24-26 (ESV) Then the angel of the Lord stood in a narrow path between the vineyards, with a wall on either side. And when the donkey saw the angel of the Lord, she pushed against the wall and pressed Balaam’s foot against the wall. So he struck her again. Then the angel of the Lord went ahead and stood in a narrow place, where there was no way to turn either to the right or to the left.
WALLS CAN HURT US
1 Samuel 18:10-11 (ESV) The next day a harmful spirit from God rushed upon Saul, and he raved within his house while David was playing the lyre, as he did day by day. Saul had his spear in his hand. And Saul hurled the spear, for he thought, “I will pin David to the wall.” But David evaded him twice.
WALLS CAN SHAME US
1 Samuel 31:8-10 (ESV) The next day, when the Philistines came to strip the slain, they found Saul and his three sons fallen on Mount Gilboa. So they cut off his head and stripped off his armor and sent messengers throughout the land of the Philistines, to carry the good news to the house of their idols and to the people. They put his armor in the temple of Ashtaroth, and they fastened his body to the wall of Beth-shan.
WALLS CAN LEAD US TO SIN
2 Kings 3:27 (ESV) Then he took his oldest son who was to reign in his place and offered him for a burnt offering on the wall. And there came great wrath against Israel. And they withdrew from him and returned to their own land.
WALLS CAN HIDE SIN & ABOMINATIONS
Ezekiel 8:7-13 (ESV) And he brought me to the entrance of the court, and when I looked, behold, there was a hole in the wall. Then he said to me, “Son of man, dig in the wall.” So I dug in the wall, and behold, there was an entrance. And he said to me, “Go in, and see the vile abominations that they are committing here.” So I went in and saw. And there, engraved on the wall all around, was every form of creeping things and loathsome beasts, and all the idols of the house of Israel. And before them stood seventy men of the elders of the house of Israel, with Jaazaniah the son of Shaphan standing among them. Each had his censer in his hand, and the smoke of the cloud of incense went up. Then he said to me, “Son of man, have you seen what the elders of the house of Israel are doing in the dark, each in his room of pictures? For they say, ‘The Lord does not see us, the Lord has forsaken the land.’ ” He said also to me, “You will see still greater abominations that they commit.”
WALLS CAN LEAD TO IMPRISONMENT
Lamentations 3:7 (ESV) He has walled me about so that I cannot escape; he has made my chains heavy;
WALLS CAN DESTROY FRIENDSHIPS & FAMILIES
Proverbs 18:19 (NLT) An offended friend is harder to win back than a fortified city. Arguments separate friends like a gate locked with bars.
We BUILD OUR OWN WALLS BY PRIDE
Amos 6:8 (ESV) The Lord God has sworn by himself, declares the Lord, the God of hosts: “I abhor the pride of Jacob and hate his strongholds, and I will deliver up the city and all that is in it.”
REACTIONS TO WALLS & STRONGHOLDS:
IGNORE OR WHITEWASH IT
Ezekiel 13:10-16 (ESV) Precisely because they have misled my people, saying, ‘Peace,’ when there is no peace, and because, when the people build a wall, these prophets smear it with whitewas

[English/French Subtitles] Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah(HA) - War On Terror - March 21, 2002
Landmark speech by Hizbullah Secretary General - delivered on the 20st of March 2002 (6th Muharram 1423) regarding the recently (at that time recently) US imposed so-called "War on Terrorism" - following the attacks on the World Trade Centre Towers in New York.
This version has English and French Subtitles.
"The racial discrimination towards the blacks is still persisting in every aspect. Moreover, there is a racial discrimination towards the Red Indians who are the original inhabitants of the country. ...I tell you frankly that if it wasn't for the determined willingness, ... and fight of the Palestinian people, the Americans and their civilization would have decided to solve that problem of...Palestinians just like they did with the Indians. This is the picture that lies in the mind of the American." --Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah
Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah - Muharram 7, 1423
The Secretary General of Hizbullah, Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah(HA), addressing the people on the seventh night of Muharram for the year 1423 (March 20, 2002)
In this lecture, Sayyed Hassan(HA), explains the roots of Zionist occupation and American colonialism and so-called "New World Order", this is well worth reading.
In the Name of Allah the most Beneficent and most Merciful.
Praise be to Allah the lord of the world, and may peace and Allah's praises be upon our master and prophet, the purifier of our sins, and the love of our hearts Mohammed ibn Abdullah followed by his pure progeny, rightful followers, and all the martyrs and mujahideen for Allah's teachings since the birth of Adam until the day of judgment.
May peace be upon you my lord and master Abu Abdullah Al Hussein, and upon those spirits who are floating around thy grave.
I send you my adoration as long as night follows day.
I ask my dear Allah to keep me committed to continuously visit thee and thy family.
May peace be upon Al Hussein, Ali the son of Al Hussein, the sons of Al Hussein, and the followers of Al Hussein.
Dear brothers and sisters, May peace be upon you all;
Allah says in his Glory book Verily, Fir'aun (Pharaoh) exalted himself in the land and made its people sects, weakening (oppressing) a group (i.e. Children of Israel) among them: killing their sons, and letting their females live. Verily, he was of the Mufsidûn (i.e. those who commit great sins and crimes, oppressors, tyrants). And We wished to do a favor to those who were weak (and oppressed) in the land, and to make them rulers and to make them the inheritors, And to establish them in the land, and We let Fir'aun (Pharaoh) and Hâmân and their hosts receive from them that which they feared.
Let's remember some of the words in my speech I read to you on the first night.
I said that Al Hussein may peace be upon him, rose up and fought with the very few members of his family and his companions. He was protecting Islam, the values of Islam, and the existence of this religion, in order to prevent its termination, transformation, vanishing, or the manipulation of its teachings in an aim to send the people back to the early days of ignorance.
I added saying that there are many challenges at this time in which we are living. The declaration of war by the American Administration these days is nothing but a war on Islam, on the values of Islam, on the understandings of Islam, on the Quraan of Islam, and on the Prophet of Islam on the grounds that the existence this religion lives among the people of this nation and its Muslim followers.
I would like to stand up today in the atmosphere of this declaration of war to try and comprehend, explain, and realize the issues widely surrounding us. Consequently we'll realize our stand, the enemy we are facing, and the sort of reality or fact we are living in at this present time.
When we go back and read some of the words or phrases of the American president Bush speeches during the past few days, weeks and months, we will find that some of his words and phrases identified the title of this war.
For example, from what he said: it is the responsibility of each American at the present time to guarantee the domination and the spread of the American values in other parts of this world. I repeat the domination and the spread of the American values in other parts of this world. He spoke these words while he was addressing his officers and soldiers, encouraging them to be patient, endure and tolerate the difficulties.
He told them we are fighting for the values of civilization (of course it would be the materialistic American civilization!). He promises to send forces to this country or that in more than one occasion, and that he aims at transferring the values of the American society to the various countries, societies, and states, since terror cannot be exterminated by the means of military and security only. Yet he says it should be fought by means of culture, which means that we should wipe out the culture that gives birth to terrorists and uprisings, in order to replace it

Mariah Robertson Wears a Yellow Suit to Work | "New York Close Up" | Art21
How does an artist make work in extreme circumstances? In this film, artist Mariah Robertson wears a makeshift hazmat suit, face mask, and breathing apparatus to create a series of hand-processed color photographs in her darkroom in Greenpoint, Brooklyn. Navigating both a toxic process and discontinued materials, Robertson’s ability to perfect her technique is a race against time, dwindling resources, and her ability to endure difficult conditions. The artist’s unorthodox, photo-based projects often employ multiple techniques in a single image: enlarging negatives, employing filters, crafting hand-made patterns of colored gels, and placing objects—such as agate, hoses, and glass—directly on the paper. In addition, Robertson achieves one-of-a-kind results by developing each photo in an artisinal fashion by spraying chemicals and by controlling reactions with variable temperatures and the strength of her materials. In the end, Roberton’s tragicomic images poke fun at a traditional photography culture while exploring the slow obsolescence of analog processes in a digital era.

[FRAME] Chapter Twenty One
Q1
hello, I am Jimmy and people in the bike or band scene call me "Lo Jim" (Old Jim), I guess it's because I am old, coz I'm 40 "X" years old now! BMX has always been my passion since I can remember and that's why I opened a shop so everyone can buy quality BMX products without the fuss of going online or ordering oversea.
Q2
The BMX scene has come a long way, angles of the frames, materials and parts have all improved dramatically.. In the 80's BMX was really only for racing on dirt tracks, and kids started to use these racing BMX bikes to jump off ramps and do tricks, New School BMX is specifically design for different applications, there is Racing BMX, Freestyle BMX and Flatland BMX, all designed differently for different riding styles, as a result bikes are now way easier to ride and land tricks on compared to the Old School days, because there was only one kind of BMX angle at the time and it would depend of the skill of the rider to pull off tricks, now the frames and parts are so specialized it makes it easier for riders to constantly improve on their skills and invent new tricks. However, there are still groups of riders who grew up in the 80's and still have a "love" for Old School BMX.. "Wah" it was real mainstream back then, because back in the day there was basically road bikes and then came BMX, and some of the guys who used to ride in the 80's are really getting back into it, and I mean REALLY getting back into Old School BMX, some don't just have one or two bikes, but 4-5 show bikes! They go around all the bike shops locally and overseas looking for old school parts and if they see something it will be snatched up either to be used or as a collector item.. just pure passion for the sport.
Q3
If you ride BMX overseas the parks and facilities are awesome compared to Hong Kong, also the riders "mind" is better, I guess it because of the hectic lifestyle of kids in Hong Kong, some kids starts riding at the age of 15 and have pretty good skills, as they get better and ride for a few years, then they hit 19 or 20 and have to start working to support their family, so they don't have time to practice and their skills are wasted unfortunately.. because BMX or X Games sports in Hong Kong are not supported by the government, big corporate brands or products like it is overseas, most riders only do it for fun and cannot take it as a professional sport. Overseas is different, if you have the skills, you get noticed by the brands and they will invest into you to let you develop, achieve bigger goals and not waste your skills... if you are good at something why not continue doing it? People in Hong Kong are so narrow minded that way!An example would be BMX Racing, for instance, Stephen Wong who's a BMX rider for Hong Kong at the Olympics is a different case, he came back to Hong Kong after studying abroad and basically creamed all other competitors on the race track in Asia, which is why he got noticed by the brands and bicycle association which started to sponsor him riding because he was making headlines.. honestly though.. the association is only about getting gold medals. If you are a professional BMX rider overseas, and come to Hong Kong to race and win all major events, then they're lucky, not for the rider.. but for the association because they don't have to invest to train these riders! If you look at X Games in Hong Kong, not much has been invested into by the Government or the major brands, although it is improving in Hong Kong and I am stoked that there will be a few new skate parks opened this year, one is in Wong Tai Sin and that will be one of the BEST and biggest parks in Hong Kong, it will also have the first skate bowl in Hong Kong and everyone is waiting for it to open. The park is designed and built by a specialize Australia skate park company and everything is built according to international standards unlike any other parks we have had here, kind of like Mei Foo skate park which was also designed by an America company which is a fairly new park as well. I think it great because Hong Kong is so crowed, land is extremely valuable here so to get the government or private companies to sponsor such parks is like trying to draw blood from a stone, unlike Mainland China, where land is plentiful, they have skate parks everywhere you look, like Beijing and Shanghai, both have a few international standard skate parks already. Also corporate bands are willing to sponsor annual events in China and they start from the smaller provinces to end in the major cities like Beijing for the Finals, also ESPN Asia hosts their annual X Games event in Shanghai, which is why BMX riders in Mainland China are more dedicated because they have better facilities, media coverage, and sponsors for the sport.
Q4
In Hong Kong it is quite the opposite, obviously the most important thing to create an event is money, and in Hong Kong, big companies have no interest to help promoting the extreme sport, and when we orga

New York Gaming Association: A Reliable Partner for Education
The New York Gaming Association (NYGA) is launching a new statewide TV campaign to remind taxpayers that New York's racetrack casinos are reliable partners for education as schools open for the new school year. The nine racetracks that make up the Association have contributed $3.4 billion to education since 2004 -- including more than $550 million so far in 2012, according to the New York Division of the Lottery's website - enough to fund the annual salaries of approximately 12255 teachers.
