In this inspiring talk, advocate and educator Dean Bragonier offers a different take on Dyslexia. By looking at the unique mindset of Dyslexics as a strength, Dean reframes a perceived weakness as a powerful tool and teaches us all an important lesson about the power of an open mind and an open heart.
Dean Bragonier is a social entrepreneur in the EdTech space. Shaped by the challenges associated with his dyslexia, Dean became an advocate for learning and disability equality and has founded, managed and served on the boards of organizations working to create systemic change in this field. As the Founder and Executive Dyslexic of NoticeAbility Inc., Dean leads a collaborative team from Harvard University, Tufts University and the Carroll School that is building curricula designed to offer authentic inquiry experiences in vocational subjects that cater to the neurological strengths of the dyslexic mind.
Upon graduation, Dean embraced his entrepreneurial instincts and acquired a small seasonal restaurant on Martha's Vineyard Island that he transformed into a successful full-scale enterprise (see Boston Magazine, July 2001). It was through this endeavor that he was able to contextualize his years of laborious academic learning and discover the true gifts of his dyslexic mind.

Many fail to answer the questions in this video. Try and see if you can take up the challenge.
Dyslexia is not a pigeonhole to say you can’t do anything. It is an opportunity and a possibility to learn differently. You have magical brains, they just process differently. Don’t feel like you should be held back by it.
But before you conclude on something, give yourself a test. Check the video and know where you belong. It is more common than you can imagine. You are not alone. Learn to live with it and make the best of it. This video is fun and also makes you feel that you are not alone. Dyslexic kids are creative, ‘outside-the-box’ thinkers because they don’t see or solve problems the same way other kids do. So share this with your friends and enjoy the video.

I intend to raise awareness for dyslexia in a fun and natural way. I hope as many people as possible share the message that dyslexia is not a bad thing and that many famous people with incredible talents have dyslexia.
So, this is a test a friend of mine and I put together the other day for fun. It pretends to measure whether you are dyslexic or whether you suffer from dyslexia. Amazingly, more than 10% of the population is dyslexic and many people don't know about it. So this test makes you identify the mistakes in the words... until the prank is revealed. :)

Im not embarrassed to ask for help and if anyone is mean then let that be a reflection of their disability of being a d*ck! If you talk about it, people will understand you will be so surprised how many people who will have it or know someone who has it.

Most dyslexics have problems with reading and spelling, specifically with phonics , decoding words and remembering how to spell them. But for many, visual aids are extremely important in all aspects of learning. This technique uses visual cues within the words to help the child recognize the word and remember how to spell it.

Dyslexia
Dyslexia, also known as reading disorder, is characterized by trouble with reading despite normal intelligence. Different people are affected to varying degrees. Problems may include difficulties in spelling words, reading quickly, writing words, "sounding out" words in the head, pronouncing words when reading aloud and understanding what one reads. Often these difficulties are first noticed at school. When someone who previously could read loses their ability, it is known as alexia. The difficulties are involuntary and people with this disorder have a normal desire to learn.
The cause of dyslexia is believed to involve both genetic and environmental factors. Some cases run in families. It often occurs in people with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and is associated with similar difficulties with numbers. It may begin in adulthood as the result of a traumatic brain injury, stroke, or dementia. The underlying mechanisms are problems within the brain's language processing. Dyslexia is diagnosed through a series of tests of memory, spelling, vision, and reading skills. Dyslexia is separate from reading difficulties caused by insufficient teaching; or either hearing or vision problems.

By looking at the unique mindset of Dyslexics as a strength, Dean reframes a perceived weakness as a powerful tool and teaches us all an important lesson about the power of an open mind and an open heart.
Dean Bragonier is a social entrepreneur in the EdTech space. Shaped by the challenges associated with his dyslexia, Dean became an advocate for learning and disability equality and has founded, managed and served on the boards of organizations working to create systemic change in this field. As the Founder and Executive Dyslexic of NoticeAbility Inc., Dean leads a collaborative team from Harvard University, Tufts University and the Carroll School that is building curricula designed to offer authentic inquiry experiences in vocational subjects that cater to the neurological strengths of the dyslexic mind.
Upon graduation, Dean embraced his entrepreneurial instincts and acquired a small seasonal restaurant on Martha's Vineyard Island that he transformed into a successful full-scale enterprise (see Boston Magazine, July 2001). It was through this endeavor that he was able to contextualize his years of laborious academic learning and discover the true gifts of his dyslexic mind.

Dyslexia is not a pigeonhole to say you can’t do anything. It is an opportunity and a possibility to learn differently. You have magical brains, they just process differently. Don’t feel like you should be held back by it.
But before you conclude on something, give yourself a test. Check the video and know where you belong. It is more common than you can imagine. You are not alone. Learn to live with it and make the best of it. This video is fun and also makes you feel that you are not alone. Dyslexic kids are creative, ‘outside-the-box’ thinkers because they don’t see or solve problems the same way other kids do. So share this with your friends and enjoy the video.

I intend to raise awareness for dyslexia in a fun and natural way. I hope as many people as possible share the message that dyslexia is not a bad thing and that many famous people with incredible talents have dyslexia.
So, this is a test a friend of mine and I put together the other day for fun. It pretends to measure whether you are dyslexic or whether you suffer from dyslexia. Amazingly, more than 10% of the population is dyslexic and many people don't know about it. So this test makes you identify the mistakes in the words... until the prank is revealed. :)
