The Shap Steam Trials (11.5 minutes) Featuring 60007 Sir Nigel Gresley, 71000 Duke of Gloucester and 46229 Duchess of Hamilton. Comparative shots show all three trains with long running shots on the climbs to Shap and later at Ais Gill. S15 828 Featuring the run from Eastleigh via the Wyley Valley to Bath, Bristol and return. The Jewellery Line and Old Hill Bank Standard 4 tank 80079 on Old Hill Bank and the new Jewellery Line to Snow Hill, inc. footplate angles. 46229 Duchess of Hamilton Filmed on the York-Scarborough line and featuring the fine Semaphores at Seamer Jnc. Dainton and Cornwall 7802 Bradley Manor and 70000 Britannia in an awesome display of steam on Dainton, plus Cornwall. Cornwall with 70000 Britannia Featuring numerous shots in Cornwall plus Saltash, Hemerdon and Dainton banks from on the train as well as at the lineside. The North Wales Coast Express 46203 Princess Margaret Rose in some very authentic NW scenes with semaphores. The sequence also includes a superb, long running, sunset glint shot at Malltraeth. Collett Mogul 7325 and Britannia's run to Swansea Running from Stourbridge to Bristol, the Mogul left just after dawn enabling the most beautiful and atmospheric early morning shots we have ever taken. Later joined by 70000, we see the pair tackling Filton and Neath banks and, following the Mogul's failure at Swansea, the solo effort by Britannia on the climb out of Swansea and over Landore Viaduct. 8F at Great Rocks Quarry and Chapel en le Frith In Tunstead quarry at Great Rocks we were fortunate enough to record a very rare sequence when 8F 48151 hauled a train of loaded hoppers (970 tons). The infrastructure, atmosphere and grimy state of the loco truly captured the essence of the 1960's. The following day, on the Buxton-Guide Bridge shuttles, we saw the engine hauling a rake of 6 maroon carriages on the old LNWR route nr Chapel en le Frith. 35028 Clan Line on the Cunarder 35028 leaves the Capital just after sun rise on a perfect frosty November morning. Lime Street Cutting and Camden Bank with 71000 Duke of Gloucester 71000 is seen leaving Lime St. Station and climbing through the tunnels to Edge Hill Station. The following day she became the first steam locomotive to tackle Camden Bank for 28 years. The Settle & Carlisle with the Duke Featuring the December runs we see the Duke putting in some stunning performances and running in superb conditions including sun and snow.
