Rycote is a hamlet 2.5 miles (4.0 km) southwest of Thame in Oxfordshire.
Richard and Sybil Quartermayne, lord and lady of the manor of Rycote, founded Saint Michael's chapel as a chantry in 1449. It is a Perpendicular Gothic building with a chancel, nave and west tower. It retains original 15th-century wooden fittings including pews, stalls and a screen.
In the 17th century the chapel was ornamented with a west gallery, altar rails, a reredos and other fittings. The first reredos, dated 1610, is now damaged and in 1974 was kept under the tower. It has been replaced by a second reredos dated 1682.
Carved masonry has been found from a substantial house that stood here in the 14th century. Rycote House was a great Tudor country house that was built here early in the 16th century, probably for Sir John Heron, Treasurer of the Chamber to first Henry VII and then Henry VIII, who bought the manor of Rycote on his retirement in 1521. Henry VIII and his fifth wife, Catherine Howard, honeymooned here in 1540. Pictures from circa 1695 and 1714 show that the main part of the house was arranged around a courtyard. It had stepped gables, a gatehouse and polygonal corner turrets with cupolas and was surrounded by a moat.
Christos "Chris" Winter (born 2 November 1989) is an Australian television presenter and news reporter. He is most well known for co-hosting the Australian music television show Hit List TV on Network Ten and Southern Cross Ten and as a news reporter for Nine News.
Winter was born on 2 November 1989, in Mount Gambier, South Australia, before moving to Brasilia and London due to his father's work commitments. Winter attended school at Pembroke College in Adelaide, before moving to the Gold Coast in Queensland, Australia.
Before his career in television, Winter was a competitive road and track cyclist. During his short career, Winter won a national championship with now professional cyclist Jack Bobridge and also represented Australia at the Youth Olympic Games.
Winter started his television career at the age of 20, working as an intern news reporter at Channel Nine News. Under the guidance of more experienced journalists, including anchorwoman Eva Milic, Winter continued to learn the trade before successfully auditioning to be a guest host for the Australian wide music television series Hit List TV, which is broadcast on Network Ten and, in country areas, Southern Cross Ten.

** Updated with extra "wet" test after conversation with Rycote ** Windjammer manufacturer Rycote have updated their range of "Super Softie" fur-less windjammers which they launched last year. They have a revised shape and still claim performance better than the traditional furry wind jammer. But do the claims stack up? I put them to the test. If you'd like to buy either the old or new Softie or the Sennheiser mic I used, then please go via my Amazon links as I get a small commission that way to keep the reviews coming: "Old" Softie (18cm): http://amzn.to/1ABeUQL Super Softie (18cm/29-22): http://amzn.to/1ABeXMs Sennheiser ME66/K6: http://amzn.to/1yHDTjP For updates, follow me on Twitter: http://www.twitter.com/UKAirscape Published by http://www.tubeshooter.co.uk Twitter: http://www.t...

This is a comparison of both the Rycote and the Rode Blimps. A lot of people ask about both and what the differences are. This is my opinions of both of them.
Here's a test of a cool suspension mount for your portable recorder. With the Rycote lyre suspension webs this thing really kills the rumble.
Why do you love your Rycote? Because we love it! Take a trip behind the scenes into our world to see why our Softie Windshield remains the industry standard for Broadcast, Film & Video professionals all over the world. Newsshooter.com's Clinton Harn talks to Rycote at the IBC show in Amsterdam. They were showing their new Cyclone windshield, a completely new take on the original 'dead cat' furry blimp designs that are commonly used throughout the industry. The Cyclone uses a non-symmetrical housing that is super lightweight and snaps apart quickly to allow access to the microphone. As well as changing the shape and structure of the Cyclone, Rycote have used a high tech material called 3D-Tex as the outer fabric. It is great for reducing wind noise and yet is acoustically very transparent. You can still add an optional furry windjammer for additional protection against wind noise. The Cyclone uses Rycote's now famous Lyre suspension system to hold the mic, as well as a new Floating-Basket Suspension to ...

Like serpents entangled in faint starlight black seals entwined in crystal gleam
Dark shapes enframed in a myriad of suns
The infinity ends
The past plains of snow the visions of frozen landscapes flow silent yet charming sights of pale serenity
You've chosen the way
Where patterns of frost lead you astray to the glacial crypt of thoughts
Aside and away from inner space you roam afar from sanctuary of morbid self beyond the reason locked in a rotten shell while lost in everlasting sleep
The path that you walk so gracefully paved with icy thorns led you to the realm forlorn
You've chosen the way
Where patterns of frost lead you astray to the glacial crypt of thoughts
To knowledge that made illusion of your existence fade
