From his 1976 album "What's Wrong With This Picture?" (There are actually 32 things wrong with the picture. http://www.classroomtools.com/wronglst.htm Lyrics: He was born on a summer day, 1951 And with the slap of a hand He had landed as an only son His mother and father said "what a lovely boy" We'll teach him what we learned Ah yes, just what we learned We'll dress him up warmly and We'll send him to school It'll teach him how to fight To be nobody's fool Oh, oh, what a lonely boy Oh, what a lonely boy Oh, what a lonely boy In the summer of '53 his mother Brought him a sister But she told him "we must attend to her needs" "She's so much younger than you" Well, he ran down the hall and he cried Oh, how could his parents have lied When they said he was an only son He thought he was t...

Dedicated to Rachel Bird, West Kirby, Wirral. 11th July 2008 I talked to my baby on the telephone Long distance I never would've guessed I could miss someone so bad I really only met her 'bout a week ago But it doesn't seem to matter to my heart I know that I love her I'm hoping that I never recover 'Cause she's good for me And it would really make me happy To never let her slip away I feel like a kid with a teenage crush On a school date I feel like the lead in "Romeo & Juliet" I'm a little bit dizzy I'm a little bit scared I guess I never felt this much aware That I'd love her I'm hoping that I'll never recover Cause she's good for me And it would really make me happy To never let her slip away I really only met her 'bout a week ago But it doesn't seem to matter ...
Original video! Dave Grohl of the Foo Fighters recently discussed how much he loved the sophisticated melody behind Andrew's hit song on Marc Maron's podcast WTF. ENJOY!! Video featuring Andrew Gold, Brock Walsh, George Marnelli, Brian Garafalo and Stan Kipper. On the album, All This and Heaven Too. Andrew Gold: synthesizers/percussion. From the liner notes: "Timothy Schmitt and JD Souther came in to visit ....and they sang one line of the background vocals (on a Sunday afternoon...) before going to write with the Eagles. The track was basically just a cheap synch, and a rhythm loop made by Brock and I pounding on a wall, and clapping: Boom, clap, ba-boom, clap. We overdubbed this about 22 times and made it sound huge and looped it into a repeating figure...." Andrew is known f...

Hearts that are broken and love that's untrue
These go with learning the game
When you love her and she doesn't love you
You're only learning the game
When she says that you're the only one she'll ever love
Then you find that you are not the one she's thinking of
Feeling so sad and you're all alone and blue
You're only learning the game
Oh, oh, oh
Feeling so sad and you're all alone and blue
That’s when you’re learning the game
Hearts that are broken and love that's untrue
These go with learning the game
When you love her and she doesn't love you
You're only learning the game
When she says that you're the only one she'll ever love
