Saint Pachomius (Greek: Παχώμιος, Coptic: ⲡⲁϩⲱⲙ ca. 292–348), also known as Pachome and Pakhomius (/pəˈkoʊmiəs/), is generally recognized as the founder of Christian cenobitic monasticism. Coptic churches celebrate his feast day on 9 May, and Eastern Orthodox and Roman Catholic churches mark his feast on 15 May or 28 May. In the Lutheran Church, the saint is remembered as a renewer of the church, along with his contemporary (and fellow desert saint), Anthony of Egypt on January 17.
Saint Pachomius was born in 292 in Thebes (Luxor, Egypt) to pagan parents. According to his hagiography, at age 21, Pachomius was swept up against his will in a Roman army recruitment drive, a common occurrence during this period of turmoil and civil war. With several other youths, he was put onto a ship that floated down the Nile river and arrived at Thebes in the evening. Here he first encountered local Christians, who customarily brought food and comfort daily to the impressed troops. This made a lasting impression, and Pachomius vowed to investigate Christianity further when he got out. He was able to leave the army without ever having to fight, was converted and baptized (314).

The beauty of this clip is in the genuine humility exuded by Abba Pachomius as he told the congregation that he was now going to become a son serving under the feet of His Holiness, although formerly Abba Pachomius was always Abba Tawadros's superior and elder, spiritual father. This is a clip of the enthronement of Pope Tawadros II which shows Abba Pachomius, the interim Coptic Patriarch who helped lead the church during the transitional period until the new archbishop of Alexandria was chosen.
The Saturday before the Sunday of the Man Born Blind, May 28, 2011. The Man Born Blind was healed by physical means. Christian faith involves both the spiritual and the physical. This is the foundation of the Holy Mysteries (Sacraments). Also a bit on St. Pachomius, founder of cenobitic monasticism.
Fr. Pachomius answers the questions in this #AskaMonk interview.
Oh yeah oh i'm feelin
This one right here
Don't know
I don't know whats going on
Somethings happened
I just don't feel the same at all
When you touch me
I just have to close my eyes
Each time you hug me
Feelings happening inside
And i
Im about to say whats always been forbidden
Between us
Baby somethings about to happen
Tell me you cannot feel us falling
You and I are about to become us
Ohhh
Feels like
Feels like I been going crazy for your loving
And even though we're only friends
I need much loving
So much more of you than what you have been giving
Feel us happening inside
And i
Im about to say whats always been forbidden
Between us
Baby somethings about to happen
Tell me you cannot feel us falling
You and I are about to become us
Ohhh
We could become one baby
So much more
In love
And I love you baby
I trust you baby
With my all
Baby somethings about to happen
Tell me you cannot feel us falling
Baby somethings about to happen
Tell me you cannot feel us falling
Baby somethings about to happen
Tell me you cannot feel us falling
Baby somethings about to happen
Tell me you cannot feel us falling
