Bounded on the east by the Barabanki District, on the west by Unnao District, on the south by Raebareli and in the north by Sitapur and Hardoi, Lucknow sits on the northwestern shore of the Gomti River. Hindi is the main language of the city and Urdu is also widely spoken. Lucknow is the centre of Shia Islam in India with highest Shia Muslims population in India. It is accessible from every part of India by air, rail and road.
Lucknow Lok Sabha constituency (Hindi: लखनऊ लोक सभा निर्वाचन क्षेत्र) is one of the 80 Lok Sabha (parliamentary) constituencies in Uttar Pradesh state in northern India. It is the capital of Uttar Pradesh.
Since 1991 the seat has been held by the BJP, the governing party since 2014, its best-known MP is Former Prime Minister, A. B. Vajpayee.
