A man accused of trying to lure two high school girls with a soda was charged by Swatara Township police.

Eliud Montanez-Castro, 34, of Steelton, was charged April 29 with luring a child into a vehicle, harassment and disorderly conduct. He is in Dauphin County prison in lieu of $50,000 bail.

Two Steelton-Highspire High School girls reported a man approached them April 15 on South Harrisburg Street between Orchard and Walnut streets by a man who began a conversation with them and tried to get them to drink a Coke, police said.

The girls walked away from the man because his behavior was scaring them, and the man drove away in a small white Ford sedan.

Montanez-Castro was developed as a suspect April 27 with help from Steelton police, and he was identified by the girls, police said.
